I have noticed that most feminists seem lesbian and in some cases, they are blatant lesbians.

But I would not go and claim all feminists are lesbian.

I know some male feminists too:

What a funny thread. And this totally explains one of the sickest comments I've ever read by anyone on my page. Who'd think humans can be so abysmally pathetic sometimes.

The answer is, of course, a clear No. It's "never" all. To say that feminists are lesbians is to imply that anyone who is a feminist is a lesbian, which is proven untrue by the many feminists (some of whom are actually males, mind you) who are happily married to people of the opposite gender.

An individual, male or female, who recognizes that women are oppressed in every society and actually stands up to DO something about it. This is a feminist. And I'm one of them.

I also believe that, whereas Islam has given rights to women, it is through feminism that they are best achieved and implemented. :D THIS, my friends, is why I LOVE being a feminist. We help transform theories into practices.

Unfortunately, not all feminists will openly say they're feminists because of the negative assumptions held against feminism.

I hope and expect that you're being sarcastic there. If not, that's just beyond sick.

BLESS your heart for saying this, wrora! I had to read it three times to verify that it was coming from you Thanks a million!

However, it's not "most" either; some, perhaps many - but not most. I'd know; I study feminism and even feminist Islam

Aww, you've made me SO happy with that comment of yours. Wah!

Some of my Muslim feminist friends own shirts that read: "This is what a radical Muslim feminist looks like." I'm not too fond of the word "radical," so I'm struggling with the idea of owning a shirt like that, but I looooooooooove the picture! And I'm searching for a shirt that'd say "This is what a Muslim feminist looks like!" I might have to make one my own.
            ~sighs~

I thought this was a radical muslim feminist:

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irshad_Manji

Ironically, she happens to be a lesbian. Fine with me though.

Yes, Irshad Manji is a lesbian. She's a feminist as well. But she doesn't represent all or even most feminists, so it'd be silly to conclude that just because she's a lesbian, all other feminists are also lesbians.

I never said feminist were all lesbians though. I was actually making fun of that ridiculous idea.

I know you didn't say that. I was just making a general comment.

As said by others, all feminists are not lesbians....but feminists are more prone to become lesbians than others...feminists have tendency to be anti-male and from anti-male, the tendency may shift towards lesbianism...

There are a few militant feminists in the Netherlands. THey dress like this.

                        I'd love to marry one!

^ Yes. Some Muslim feminists I know dress this exact same way, covered from head to toe, including their faces. I'm not likely to do this (except when in Swat and other areas where I'm obligated to cover my face), but I like that it shows that not all feminists are the same or look the same or believe the same or dress the same or anything like that. In fact, other feminists I know barely wear anything for the exact same reason that the ones who cover from head to toe do. One side goes, "If I cover myself, it means I'm acknowledging the claim that I'm a sexual commodity because if I don't cover myself, I will be teased, molested, or even raped. I'm acknowledging the claim that ALL I have to value is my body and nothing but my body - which I must cover, because if I don't, I won't be respected. But I'm more than just my body."
And so, such feminists don't cover as much.

The ones who do cover from head to toe have the typical mentality that "If I show any skin, I'm submitting to men's desires." I met this type about a month ago for an interview, and she was (is) one of the most intelligent women I've ever met in my life. She impressed me so much that if I wasn't convinced with my own ideas of modesty and whatnot, I'd have accepted her standards and followed her style. (Yeah, I like to give extra attention to the principles and practices of the of the people I admire and consider intelligent.)

Me, I'm more supportive of the former view, as the latter has too many holes for me to adopt for myself.

Bro, I suggest you do some research on this lesbian and feminism material. You'll understand what's going on and why from their point of view. Things will (or might) become more clear for you then.

feminism starts with fighting for women's right and ends with hatered for men.
i am for feminism but only if it is in the mos positive form. the strategy feminists use to defend women's rights is wrong..... they shouldn't treat men as their enemies, rather befriend them to be able to win this battle of genders... let's face it... world is men dominated and to get equal right in this not so equal world u have to play political with ur competitor.. its all politics, play political with men and u will get whatever u want... men play politics with woman's brain and women should do the same .... hatered is not the answer... this hatered leads to many turning lesbians... they pretty much isolate themselves their lives from men...

Feminism again, is a Western Ideology, invented by Westerners. In pashtun region, i dont think Pashtuns will ever take it serious, not in a million years.

Even in the west, the so called civilised west, Women are beaten, abused, raped and yet feminism still fails there. So why bring this Westernised Ideology into the Muslim world and especially the Pashtun region.

And most of these so called Pashtun feminists in especially Pakistan are nothing but little tools of the government to mujrarise Pashtun society to bring it on the level of Punjab.

feminism doesn't mean u have to be part of some affiliated group or a toy to government... a woman can be feminist in her own home with her own husband, father, brothers and other male figures of her family... fighting for her rights and freedom. i don't think this is something very negative that pasthoons shouldn't take seriously... lets be true to ourselves pashtoons do treat their women very unfairly... why say only pashtoon let's just say afghans as a whole... this is about time our men realize that the 'thing' they have married are actually HUMAN BEINGS... u see!
