A pink scar is actually granulation tissue, next step will be its increased collegenization, it will become white, then finally it will contract and its size will be reduced. So DZJ dont mess with it now as repair process is still going on now, it has yet to heal.
If it is small scar from small cut, then it would heal to very small scar.

Luffy, I said in case her scar was indented? Do you know what that word means?

she was asking for ways to reduce its appearance as much as is possible...

leaving it as it is is common sense and the result is an ugly scar which she doesn't want. if it is still pink and was raised, it was probably a very deep cut. the molecular structure of collagen in scar tissue is much more disordered than in regular collagen hence its different appearance from the rest of the skin... the idea is to reduce the scar tissue and encourage healthy collagen formation....

How can i not, i am medical student, a neem hakeem.
Dont worry her raised scar will subside with time, it is perhaps due to excess collagen formation.
She has not told us type and size of cut. Between it requires examination to determine whether it is a simple hypertrophic scar or keloid or proud flesh.

my doctor is an idiot. every time i go to him, i come back being more angry and depressed than i was when i went to him. i left it alone hoping it will heal on it's own but i don't want to end up with an ugly scar on my face with little time to handle it. may be i will try that bio oil you guys suggested.

I am imagining different theories for the cause of your cut on face.

No shaving doesnt cause deep cuts to dermis. Some thing else, i think she was having sword fight with some one.

Its not that difficult to cut your dermis.

In fact, any time you see blood after a cut, you have cut the dermis.

A scar results when the dermis had been cut. If it was only the epidermis, she wouldn't even have a scar to begin with.

Come on Luffy... you should know this. *wink*

Dear scar is formed when permament cells are destroyed. If with cut, quiescent and labile cells are destroyed then no scar formation will occur. I think Shave injury dont reach to muscle fibres (i have beard so i dont know about shave)

Cuts do result in scars, brother... I don't know what you're referring to when you say muscle fibers. Lol. I thought we were talking about the skin. The dermis is the layer of skin beneath the epidermis which does not have basal stem cells to repair itself in response to injury like the epidermis does hence the formation of scar tissue after injury to it...
