Just rumors for now, but it could point to more action against Daesh, who are hiding Uighur militants.

What is the Muslim world? Malaysia, Indonesia, Saudi, Turkey, Iran, Morocco, Dubai and about 10 other countries that are doing just fine.

If your talking about the middle east, well it wouldn't be in this mess if you did not bomb the shiit out of Iraq for no reason and left it. When you SOB's left they did't even leave a police force behind so what did you expect to happen? now these lunatics have got tanks, anti-aircraft missiles, hellfire missiles, skirmish vehicles and a whole arsenal of american artillery.

            I saw this

Russia may be preparing to station troops at two new sites in Syria as it continues its rapid military buildup in the conflict-ravaged nation, a research firm says.

here he cant answer my question after making such a THIS CLAIM ^^^ How come Putin's Russia did not DEFEND Assad forces and Iranian forces from Israeli airstrikes while Russian forces were at the Tartus naval base?

Look at this thread for example. The original post is an article by a news organization that says Russia is not fulfilling contracts with the Assad regime, but according to private investigator Bengal_tiger - it is ME who is saying it.

Its pathetic, this was posted in June, and he brought it back up to prove some point that isn't even there. They are not my words!!!

I post an article about Taliban meeting with China or Taliban meeting with Iran, Obama sticking to full US withdrawal, articles published by news organizations, but in Bengal_tiger's world, that is equivalent to me supporting the Taliban.

Bengal_tiger posts articles of news ONLY he likes, for example Russian invasion of Syria (he does support Russia ). I post all news even Russia's invasion of Syria WHICH I DO NOT LIKE.

He will not post the news of the first Russian troop deaths in Syria.

You have quoted almasdarnews, but do you know who actually runs it?

It's Leith Abu Fadel, a Syrian Christian. His father Ziyad Abu Fadel runs Syrianperspective.com

                He is pro-Assad.

In fact I quoted Leith in my Vladmir Putin thread and posted this image:

Ziyad Abu Fadel is a lawyer from Michigan (Deerborne, I think). The reason I'm mentioning this is to make people aware that contrary to others I'm actually better informed than most people on this issue not because I'm any different or any cleverer but simply because I do my research.

As you seem to be someone who has huge confidence and trust in the mainstream western media I am sure that you will now be dismissive of Almasdarnews, which has its pros and cons, just as the BBC, CNN all do.

The key point is to not believe that the western media is a semi-divine entity incapable of being wrong, but to be aware that the media just like politicians and governments can be wrong or even fabricate.

No one would dismiss the idea that western politicians could lie or be involved in sleaze or corruption be it Clinton, Bush, Cameron or Obama, and nor should anyone dismiss the idea that the mainstream western media can also, if not lie at least be unreliable.

Just to clarify above. I don't necessarily agree with everything Ziyad says (have to admit he's actually quite witty and hilarious if you read his blog www.syrianperspective.com), nor do I agree with everything his son Leith say. However at times they are privy to information via their contacts in Syria that others aren't.

We will have to wait and see if China is indeed going to send troops to Syria.

This also has long term implications for Afghanistan.

Russia, the CSTO and Syria & Afghanistan

The CSTO is the Russian-led version of NATO.

CSTO stands for Collective Security Treaty Organization and includes Russia, the central Asian states, Belarus and Armenia.

In the map below SCO stands for the Shanghai Co-operation Organization.

                  CSTO logo.

There is speculation that Russia may set up a CSTO force in Syria, the same way NATO has had lots of troops in Afghanistan over the years.

If this does indeed prove to be true it will be Russia and its allies demarcating new lines, barriers which the west cannot transgress.

Russia is going to Syria to fight so-called "Jihadists" and "Islamists", the sort that are also active in Afghanistan and hate Russia and China and ultimately want to destroy Russia, China and overthrow the central Asian regimes.

Russia and China with their increasing power and the concurrent decrease of western power will probably also make sure that Afghanistan will not fall to "Islamist" extremists in the future, Putin has already made noises last week about his concern over Afghanistan:

The Russian president expressed concern over the "degrading" security situation in Afghanistan.

DUSHANBE (Sputnik) — Russia is worried about the escalating security situation in Afghanistan and the lack of results from NATO's extensive presence there, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday.
"The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) has been in the country long enough and has conducted somewhat positive work. However, in the end these efforts have not brought about a radically qualitative improvement of the final situation," Putin told reporters.

Speaking at the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) summit, Putin expressed concern over the "degrading" security situation in the country and the effects of the withdrawal of combat troops from Afghanistan in December 2014.

"The danger of terrorist [and] extremist groups penetrating into Afghanistan from neighboring states has grown," the Russian president stressed.

The Taliban has regained its foothold in Afghanistan after the United States scaled down its combat operations in the country as part of its war on terror.

So if China and other states do indeed form a CSTO & SCO military force in Syria this will give them real practice in inter-military operational harmonization and planning and joint battlefield practice, this would serve as a valuable foundation for future projects e.g. if Afghanistan were to risk falling to the hands of extremists, though Russia and China would probably pressure Pakistan very hard not to allow their proxies the Taliban to take over Afghanistan.

We will have to wait and see if China does indeed send troops to Syria and if the CSTO does as well.

Usually it begins with rumors and hearsay on blogs and Twitter, before other media picks up the story. It's good to keep an eye on people with insider information about Syria, even if it's biased. We have to rely on them because the western media lost interest in Syria after all these years of war and stalemate.

Fair enough, I just hope you're not one of those people who believes every single thing the western media says immediately without any question and believe it is the gospel truth and anything that disagrees with their articles, reports is "conspiracy theory".

Journalists just like politicians, estate agents, lawyers, second hand car dealers are known to be liars, so don't believe everything the western media says, just my humble advice.

                          Update

                          - The US is blocking a Russian resolution in the UN declaring ISIS a terrorist state:

The United States is blocking Russia's proposal to include the Islamic State on the UN Security Council's sanctions list as an independent organization, head of the Russian Foreign Ministry's Department for New Challenges and Threats Ilya Rogachev said Thursday.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Foreign Ministry's official said that ISIL is outlined in the UN Security Council's sanctions list as one of the names of al-Qaeda in Iraq, while it is no secret that the Islamic State is an independent structure acting as a rival of al-Qaeda.

"It is no secret that the Islamic State is an independent structure, acting, to a certain extent, as a rival of al-Qaeda. Meanwhile, it is outlined in the UN Security Council's sanctions list as one of the names of al-Qaeda in Iraq. We have proposed to include the Islamic State as an independent organization, but our proposals are being blocked by Western members of the Security Council, especially the United States, under various pretexts," Rogachev told RIA Novosti.

Rogachev argued the United States and its allies had placed ISIL as part of al-Qaeda in Iraq in the list to conceal the "sloppy cultivation" of opposition groups to the Syrian government by the West that led to the rise of the Islamic State.

Gen. John Allen to step down as Obama’s ISIS Czar

                          Published September 22, 2015 FoxNews.com

The man picked by President Obama to lead U.S. efforts against ISIS in Iraq and Syria will step down from the position this fall, sources told Fox News Tuesday.
                          Fox news link.

This is being seen by many observers as a clear sign that the Obama regime has failed in Syria i.e. to remove Assad.

Their "goal" of "combatting" ISIS was bogus, as ISIS is their creation and despite supposedly "bombing" ISIS for around a year they have achieved nothing, though surprisingly it only took them 3 weeks to wipe out Saddam Hussein's military in 2003 which was one of the strongest in the world, or a couple of weeks to bring Serbia to its knees through bombing in 1999.

The Russians have humiliated the Americans and the Obama regime in Syria. The Russians know better than everyone else that ISIS are just a CIA-creation but they cannot state it publicly as they would lose credibility as many in the indoctrinated western masses would label this as a "conspiracy theory".

However they have cunningly used the "ISIS card" against the Americans by saying they have been invited by the Syrian government to eliminate ISIS in Iraq.

Putin's soldiers and pilots will be pulverizing ISIS and other militants in Syria over the next few weeks.

It seems the west is folding and decided to end its regime-change project in Syria.

                            - Erdogan is now talking about how Assad can be part of political negotiations whereas before he was strictly against that.

Though the mainstream corporate western media whom some blindly revere and adore and never question will not tell you this, the truth is he was shown the stick by Putin and apparently also threatened, plus the Russians sending their army and airforce in to Syria (i.e. the Russians have put their money where their mouth is, actions speak louder than words) have shown him he has to fall in line, and has no future in Syria for his neo-Ottoman dreams.

                            - Also the Jordanians are closing their anti-Assad project in Syria, according to a western media source:

Western backers end support for Syrian rebels attempting to seize Daraa

The rebels' ineffective approach to fighting President Assad's forces is believed to be behind a decision to end support for the offensive

                            Sara Elizabeth Williams

Southern Syria’s mainstream opposition has had – and lost – its last chance at forcing Bashar al-Assad’s troops out of the city of Daraa, according to a source close to opposition backers.

A source who was inside the secretive Military Operations Centre (MOC) in Amman during a meeting this week said the opposition’s American and Jordanian supporters have “closed the folder” on any operation to oust Syrian government forces from the capital of Daraa province. The opposition’s at-times chaotic and inept approach was cited as the primary reason behind backers’ frustration.

The city of Daraa has long been a trouble spot in Syria’s south.

For more than four years, Syrian government forces have held about half of the city where Syrian anti-government uprisings first spiralled into brutal violence back in 2011. The mainly secular opposition, a collection of Free Syrian Army (FSA) brigades including the Southern Front group, has launched a series of offensives on the government’s positions in the city, but each time failed to deliver results.

The most recent offensive, dubbed Operation Southern Storm, began on 25 June. It was planned, equipped and directed by the MOC, which is staffed by senior military figures from 14 countries including the US, Europe and the Arab Gulf. The MOC provides approved rebel groups with weapons, ammunition and salaries for fighters, and in return, the MOC directs the actions of the groups it supports

Speaking anonymously as he is not authorised to discuss MOC proceedings, the source said American and Jordanian backers firmly vetoed any future operations against Daraa. Commanders in the field were notified, he said, and told not to bring the subject up again in the coming months.

"They must have really messed up,” said Washington Institute Syria analyst Andrew Tabler, using a saltier verb.

"This is more bad news for the mainstream opposition at a time when there’s already a lot of bad news, what with Division 30 in the north of the country,” he added, referring to the failure of US-backed rebels to do anything other than get captured and hand over their weaponry shortly after entering northern Syria.

For the 30,000-plus members of the Southern Front, the effective roping off of a long-cherished military goal will be a bitter pill to swallow. The group’s leadership sees Daraa as a symbolic victory, and had hoped that in ruling a post-Assad Daraa, they might prove their civil society bona fides to an international public increasingly sceptical of Syria’s opposition.

But Operation Southern Storm, which started with a whimper and limped on for just over two months, failed to deliver any opposition gains. It also burned through money and ammunition, and resulted in 200 dead FSA fighters. (The Syrian government has not released casualty figures for this battle.)

"This sounds like a setback to the argument of 'let's back the Southern Front and use it as an example for other parts of Syria',” said Tabler. "It also perpetuates the partition between regime, rebels, Islamists and Druze."

A previous offensive launched in February 2014 saw the FSA and some Islamist allies take some ground from government forces. More than a year later, the rift between the mainstream and the Islamists is more pronounced. They no longer share control rooms, and MOC funding is strictly off-limits to Islamist fighters.

The MOC source said many in the mainstream opposition believe Islamist factions in Daraa have conspired against the MOC-sponsored campaign to take the city. Increased enmity between the groups could prove toxic for the only opposition-held stretch of Syria with some modicum of stability.

The Syrian government’s continued presence in the city of Daraa, less than 5km from the Jordanian border, will also scupper any embryonic plans for a safe zone.

For now, the MOC and the groups it supports are turning to other military goals. The Islamic State group has yet to establish an organised presence in Daraa province, but there have been flickerings by sleeper cells. The border between Jordan and this part of Syria is closely monitored through co-operation between the Jordanian military and the FSA on the other side – co-operation that must continue for Jordan’s own security.

"In Syria there are nothing but bad options,” said Tabler.

“The fact is, the moderate opposition hasn't been effective or cohesive, and working with them has severe limitations. But if you don't make relationships with the Sunnis, you leave them open to forming relationships with other groups."

                            *THIS IS MASSIVE NEWS!

                            - Dar'a (a city I have personally been to) was a major centre of opposition to the authoritarian Assad regime.

                            - From an anti-Assad perspective the Syrians are "being betrayed", "being backstabbed" by Jordan and the west after years of fighting and loss of blood.

                            - From a military perspective, there are five major fronts in the Syria war:

                            1. The southern front where rebels are reliant on Jordanian support.
                            2. The border area near Lebanon e.g. Zabadani
                            3. The eastern front close to Iraq e.g. Deir az-Zour.
                            4. The northern front where rebels are supported by Turkey.
                            5. The area near Damascus, eastern Ghouta

Front #1 seems to have ended.

Front #2 has more or less been dealt with

Front #3 is not that important, it is deep inside the desert, far away from the coast and really not that important - apart from some key energy and transport sites. However it was considered a relatively remote and unimportant of Syria by most Syrians who considered Damascus, Hims, Aleppo, Latakia as the core of the country.

Front #4 may be coming to an end especially if Erdogan abandons support for ISIS.

Front #5 can basically be solved if the other fronts are solved as the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) would then deploy the manpower which had previously been concentrated on the other fronts on to eastern Ghouta to crush Zahran Alloush and his militants.

Anyway it seems apparently the Americans know its all over for them in Syria, and are going to negotiate some sort of agreement with Russia to end the conflict there, according to some rumours.

                                Party time is over.

The "party" in Syria seems to be coming to an end for the west as Putin puts his foot down. The Americans have basically sacked their ISIS Czar, British, German and Australian leaders have mysteriously and suddenly all changed their long running slogan of "Assad out" to "Assad can stay".

The Jordanians are closing down operations on their border to support anti-Assad rebels.

The Turks seem to be joining in.

If Turkey does withdraw support from the rebels as the following Israeli article seems to suggest then it's basically all over for the rebels and Assad and Putin will be smashing them to pieces, and the war in Syria will basically be coming to an end after 4 and 1/2 years.

Turkey is the main backer of ISIS in the north and it's due to the Turks including covert direct involvement that rebels took control of northern regions in Syria including Idlib:

A Syrian deal between Tsar Putin and Sultan Erdogan

The President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan will not join world leaders in the UN General assembly who will mark the largest international organisation’s 70th anniversary this week. Turkey will be represented by its Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. Apparently a logical and acceptable move when considering that in the Turkish political system, the prime minister is the head of the executive branch while the president officially holds a ceremonial post. Nonetheless considering that on November 1st, Prime Minister Davutoglu, who is the head of the AKP Party, will be facing another crucial round of general elections it is quite odd that he will be absent from the country while Erdogan who, at least officially, is not part of the political game will carry on campaigning.

The solution to this riddle is that the election is all about Erdogan. The president wants his party, the AKP, to have an absolute majority in parliament so that the constitution can be changed in order to make him an executive president. It is US style presidency that he is after, or rather Putin-style the cynics would stress. In the last round of elections, which took place only three months ago on June 7th, not only did his attempt at this fail. but, Erdogan's AKP did not get the simple majority which would enable it to continue its 12 year single party government.

The reason for this failure is the Turkish Kurds, who for the first time joined forces in order to overcome the draconian 10% threshold in order to win representation in the parliament. They managed to reach beyond the ethnic Kurds to many liberal Turks who voted for the DHP - the Kurdish People’s Democratic Party.

Most Turkish and international observers tend to agree that the coalition talks that Davutoglu conducted under the mandate granted to him by Erdogan were bound to fail because the president did not want a coalition government to be formed. He wanted to give his ambition another try and to call a snap re-election, as he eventually did. Meanwhile he had to change the public discourse in Turkey away from sympathizing the Kurds, to his favor.

The first thing was to de-legitimize the Kurds and turn public opinion against them so that liberals who voted for them in the June election would feel uncomfortable to vote for the Kurdish DHP party again. In order to do this he called off the fragile peace process which he had started three years previously in an attempt to get the Kurdish vote on his side. The Turkish armed forces started attacking the PKK (the armed wing of the rebel Kurdistan Workers Party which is considered a terror organization not only by Turkey but also by the US and the EU) strongholds in southeast Turkey and northern Iraq, provoking them to retaliate in a series of terror attacks against Turkish security forces and civilians.

This caused a bloody and vicious cycle which claims more and more lives to this very day. But this is not enough. In order to carry on with this move in a region which is shattered by so many conflicts, the plan needs international consent. This was granted when Turkey, after 2 years of watching from the sidelines as the US coalition fought ISIS, suddenly declared that it is willing to take part in this war and let the US led coalition use NATO airbases in its territory. Since then, US aircraft take off from Turkey to bomb ISIS targets while the US watches quietly as Turkish aircraft take off to bomb Kurdish-PKK targets.

The last piece in this puzzle was discussed in Moscow last week when President Erdogan visited President Putin in order to backtrack on his main international goal of recent years - getting rid of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria. For the first time since the reports about the mass killings of civilians by Assad loyalists were reported, Erdogan declared upon his departure from Moscow that he is willing to accept a plan in which president Bashar Al-Assad is part of the solution. By doing so he respects Vladimir Putin's aspirations in Syria and expects the Kremlin not to interfere with his own ambitions vis-a-vis the Kurds as he aims to use Turkey’s democratic process to become an authoritarian ruler. More than anything, Erdogan’s main goal is to be an overly powerful president like Putin, or as it is called in Turkish - a sultan.

Putin seems to be enjoy gloating and lording it over Erdogan, who appears to be quite nervous compared to his normal looks.

Putin is enjoying looking directly at Erdogan's face whilst Erdogan head drooped down is avoiding eye contact. Erdogan knows Putin is the boss, as he has 10,000 nuclear missiles under his control.

Erdogan's eyes and eyebrows are raised upwards, a look usually connected to pity, being deflated etc. There is no smile.

Putin's eyes seem to be stronger and more alert (Erdogan seems to have a distant look) with a smile.
