  • ^ saudi society is messed up for having the highest divorce rate. We all know the reason though, their men just can't be with one or few wives, these keep divorcing and getting new ones. Often they will go outside the country and marry. Really why the salafi/wahabhi keep quiet on these issues? They will keep criticizing others, yet never look at themselves

    • Bipolar Bengali is against Saudis because he is a supporter of shiites. His love for shiites makes him hate Saudis who are one of the biggest donors of humanitarian aid to his country:

In 2007, in response to Cyclone Sidr in Bangladesh, which killed more than 3,000 people and left millions homeless, Saudi Arabia gave Bangladesh $158 million for humanitarian purposes

While Fascist anti-Muslim bengali government bans aid to Rhonigya Muslims(see video), the Saudis send 50 million in aid

Bipolar bengali's behavior is based on his sheer hatred for Muslims and love for Iran and Russia.

With a daily average of around 57 divorce cases per day, Saudi is topping world charts with one of the highest divorce rates in the world. Over 30,000 cases were filed in 2012 and thus far in 2013. According to Saudi officials, nearly 90 percent of the divorce cases involve Saudis married to other Saudis.

KSA's Justice ministry reported that the town of Makkah in the south ranks first with the highest divorce rate in the country, with 92 cases filed within the first 12 days of the new Hijri year that began last week.

        1. Saudi Arabia is the world's centre of Wahabism ("Salafiyya") where Wahabis/Salafis all over the world go to learn. There are things admirable about the Salafi school of thought e.g. calling for an end to pagan-like rituals amongst extreme Sufis and other things.

However in general it seems to be failing Saudi society.

        2. Many people in the world do not understand Islam. When any person does a good action (amalus salih) it creates an energy/vibration which is good and this spreads to the environment i.e. confers blessings on the mujtam'a (society). Conversely when people commit sins this also creates a negative energy/vibration and people are affected. If Wahabism was the true "Islam" (which it isn't) which Wahabis claim it to be then Saudi society would not be as rotten as it is now. There are Wahabis left, right and centre in Saudi but they cannot stop one of the highest divorce rates in the world. If however Saudi Arabia had truly pious spiritual people the society would be better e.g. no raping, killing, torture, slavery of foreign workers.

In hadeeth it speaks of the world ending when there is not a single pious soul left, meaning that the preservation of the world was because of the existence of this soul, that Allah's mercy extended to evil doers because of the actions of one single person. A truly pious person in Islam is called a "wali" (friend i.e. of Allah) and it is the awliya (friends or saints) who have spread Islam through out the centuries. True awliya that is not deviants like Nazim Qubbrusi.

        Eww wtf?,sufis are messed up.

Said Nursi (rahmatullahi 'alaih) who encouraged science, intellectual thought. Said by many to be a "wali" (friend of Allah i.e. a saint).

Moderate Salafism has its place and must be praised for helping Muslims to get rid of many ignorant and ridiculous practises which emanate from misguided extreme sufism.

Example of the ignorant practices of ignorant Sufis, a "Sufi" is naked. The Salafi school of thought originated to combat deviant practises amongst many Muslims.

However Salafism taken to its extreme just produces a neo-Khariji (Khawarij, an early sect in Islam who claimed committin a sin e.g. lying, alcohol, stealing made you a disbeliever) mentality.

The true Islam is based on immense spirituality (not the innovations of many Sufis), purification of the soul, and following of the Quran and hadeeth which do not contradict the Quran and have a Quranic basis (much of Sunni Islam is based on books by Persian writers created 200 years after the prophet solAllahu 'alaihi wa sallam's death and which contain false information and contradict the Quran).

Salafism contributed positively to the Muslim world in its rejection of the unIslamic innovations of many Sufis but as a school of thought it is fundamentally flawed (just as the Deobandis, Barelwis are too) and its influence must be restricted in Saudi Arabia.
Eww wtf? Sufis are messed up.

          • Migrant Worker Protest At UK Saudi Embassy

Ethiopians living in the UK vent their outrage over five deaths and reported brutality against migrants in Saudi's visa crackdown.9:09am UK, Tuesday 19

The protest outside the Saudi Embassy.

By Richard Williams, Sky News Online

More than one thousand people angry over the treatment of migrant workers in Saudi Arabia have staged a protest outside the country's London embassy.

The demonstration comes amid a crackdown on illegal workers in Saudi, which has seen five people killed amid allegations of brutality by authorities.

Officials in the country say the move is designed to reduce the 12% unemployment rate among native Saudis.

But those protesting say the nine million - mostly African - migrant workers in the country perform menial jobs that Saudis are unwilling to do.

More than 20,000 Ethiopians have surrendered to authorities since the crackdown, which has also seen a number of clashes with police in capital Riyadh.

Abel Kemal, 26, an Ethiopian currently studying for a masters degree, was among the protesters outside the embassy in central London on Monday.

He told Sky News that the kafala system used in Saudi - which means all migrants must be 'sponsored' by their employer, who is responsible for their visa and legal status - deprives foreign workers of basic human rights.

"Most of the Ethiopians who go to Saudi are from the poorest areas of Ethiopia," he said.

"They go there in the hope of a better life, to support their families back home and will normally be doing the most menial of jobs, which Saudis simply don't want to do.

"The kafala system means migrant workers really have no rights and no power, and many, many people have suffered injustices over the years.

"They are already treated like slaves in many ways, but it is the magnitude of the brutality since the crackdown this month that has caused the anger now."

He called on the British Government to exert pressure on the Saudi authorities.

"I am angry, as anyone would be, that my brothers and sisters living in Saudi are being beaten, raped and even killed," he said.

"The British Government is in a position to put pressure on Saudi to stop this, but then who is going to sell them oil? Saudi Arabia has a lot of power."

A statement issued to Sky News by the Saudi Embassy said protests by Ethiopian illegal immigrants in Saudi Arabia had resulted in the death "of a number of Saudi private citizens, other immigrants as well as members of the security and police forces".

It said all immigrants in Saudi Arabia without proper documentation were given eight months to put forward their case for staying in the Kingdom legally.

"Illegal immigrants have been advised that following deportation they are welcome to reapply to enter the Kingdom legally in accordance with Saudi Arabia's laws and regulations," the statement added.

I salute these Ethiopian protestors for demonstrating against the Saudi regime and their inhumane torture of foreign workers.

Muslims through out the world should protest against the Saudi regime and its policies including:

            1. Abuse and torture of workers and de facto slavery in Saudi Arabia.

            2. Sponsoring Wahabism and terrorism.

            3. Desecrating the Islamic declaration of faith (the shahada) by having it on the flag of a nation state.

            and many, many other things.

            • Saudi Arabia schools get fifth day off amid flooding

This was the most severe since more than 100 people died in floods in 2009
              APPublished: 16:21 November 20, 2013Gulf News

Riyadh: Saudi authorities have cancelled school in the capital, Riyadh, and other regions for a fifth consecutive day after heavy rains flooded roads and knocked out power across the kingdom.
Storms occur nearly every year in the arid kingdom as weather patterns shift in the cooler months, but this year’s cloudbursts have been among the most severe since more than 100 people died in floods in 2009. At least four deaths are blamed on the current downpours.
The official Saudi Press Agency said schools were closed again on Wednesday in Riyadh and at least four other provinces. Classes have been out since Saturday, shortly after the rains began.
Social media images from Saudi Arabia have included camels knee-deep in flood water and a man floating down a street atop a foam block.

              1. The interesting question is apart from the damage to school education, what about university education.

How many students have missed university lectures? How many university seminars have been missed or conferences, or even inter-governmental educational/cultural meetings?

More interesting perhaps the Saudi regime chiefs have not even been able to meet up properly to discuss ways to destabilize Syria, bully Bangladesh and other things.

              2. Apart from the public knowledge we have of the damage done to Saudi there is also secret information relating to the possible damage done to their military infrastructure. I do not think it will be any much at all (though I could be wrong) but nevertheless it will be something to a country which is in effect at war by proxy against another country, Syria.

              • Saudi Floods Raise Infrastructure Questions

                EmailPrint

                By Ellen Knickmeyer

Although enjoyed by one young man filmed jet-skiing down a flooded thoroughfare in Saudi Arabia’s capital, heavy rains have brought misery to many others in the kingdom this week, killing at least four people and leaving another 10 reported missing as roads flood.

Amply documented by Saudis on Twitter, Instagram and other social media, flooded roads and failed bridges, tunnels and roofs triggered citizen complaints of aging or poorly-constructed infrastructure in oil-rich Saudi Arabia, which holds one of the world’s top-five biggest foreign reserves.

On Wednesday, in some of the latest damage, cellphone cameras caught Saudi drivers surveying a dramatic bridge collapse north of the capital, Riyadh.

Elsewhere Wednesday, the “VIP” entrance at the regional airport in the eastern city of al Ahsa was VIP no longer, after its entrance buckled in the storm.

Travelers at Riyadh’s international airport and the airport at the eastern, oil-city of Dammam were greeted this week by the sight of water streaming through airport light fixtures and puddling on slippery airport floors, in footage captured by posters including the akhbaar24.argaam.com news website.

Many schools and universities were closed around the kingdom Wednesday. Princess Noura University in Riyadh, a massive, sprawling showcase university for women opened two years ago, was one school where sections of roofing gave way, flooding classrooms, according to photos posted on Twitter.

Following the onset of the rain Saturday, many spoke of staying close to home for fear of being caught in new downpours and resulting flash floods. “I would rather miss a day’s pay then be stupid and go and drown in Riyadh,” a teacher at King Saud University in Riyadh said by phone Wednesday, from her home.

As of late Tuesday, the kingdom’s civil defense was reporting four people killed and another 10 missing. The dead included a border soldier who drowned during the successful rescue of a woman trapped by flooding, the Arab News English-language daily reported. Many of the dead were motorists trapped in their cars when rains began.

Saudi Arabia in 2011 pledged $130 billion in new public spending, including new roads and bridges. Many older roads – including heavily trafficked ones – flooded, as in this Riyadh scene, when water engulfed a street banner showing a photo of Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al Saud welcoming delegates to an international roads and infrastructure convention in Riyadh earlier this month.

Riyadh’s mayor and governor both pledged action soon on infrastructure improvements, as the capital flooded.

In unusually sharp criticism from the country’s leading, government-supported cleric, Grand Mufti Abdulaziz al Sheikh, blamed shoddy work on road projects for the deadly flooding in Riyadh. “There is a breach of honesty and trustworthiness that they will be held accountable for,” he said.

                1. Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raajioon and my condolences to any innocent Saudis and non-Saudis killed in these floods.

This is a clear message to the Saudis and their globalists backers and all of their allies including Jamaat e "Islami" in Bangladesh.

Lightening strikes masonic pyramid structure in Riyadh.

In 1999 Turkey was struck with a massive earthquake. Many Turks became closer to Islam as a result as they felt it was a punishment. There are claims that the earthquake was started after officers from the secular fascist Turkish army desecrated the holy Quran in a NATO party. Since that time the secular fascists of Turkey (Kemalists) have lost power with many officers including a former head of the army imprisoned.

Turkish earthquake of 1999, which had a profound impact on Turkish society. Saudi society should do likewise and repent for their sins including their regular beating, raping, torturing and humiliation of foreign workers.

                • I will stop updating this thread now because I think it has sufficiently highlighted some of the problems of Saudi Arabia. However here is a summary.

                  1. Saudi Arabia cannot and must not be divided. That is totally unacceptable.

150 million Muslims of Bangladesh will physically support Saudi Arabia if they need help from us.

                  2. The country must stay as one and the only unique commonality that links the disparate Arab tribes of Saudi Arabia, the Shammaris, Dossaris, Utaibis, is history of having a monarch from the Saud tribe. Of course they are all Arabs and Muslims but so are Kuwaitis and Qataris so what is it that makes the people in Saudi different to the Qataris, it is being part of a state ruled by a certain tribe.

                  3. However there must be reform. There is a saying steel bends, iron breaks.

If the Saud tribe are flexible and bend like steel they will change but not break. If they are stubborn and refuse change like iron they will break.

In practical terms this means the Saud tribe doing the following things:

a: Not regarding Saudi Arabia as their personal property but the state of its citizens.

b: Stopping the virtually exclusive concentration of power in their hands and devolving it to others.

c: Stopping salaries to the thousands and thousands of people in the Saud tribe and ensuring that they get an education and work like everyone else.

d: Stop persecution of Shias in Saudi. Shias in Saudi are Saudis and Arabs and will always choose their fellow Saudis over alien Farsi speaking Iranians with a totally different culture, history, everything. The Saudis can look at Kuwait as a model of inclusive policies towards the Shia. You get more bees with honey than with vinegar. If Saudi embraces the Shias as Saudis adhering to another school of thought the Shias will embrace the nation-state they live in.

e: The previous point entails the de-emphasization of Salafiyaa and the prohibition of inflammatory material that demonizes Shia or anything in the education system that would encourage that.

Salafiyaa should be appreciated for its contributions in reducing some of the crypto-pagan practises in the Muslim world. It should however be understood that its origins do not lay exclusively in the Najd but in Iraq, Syria and south Asia. Abdul Wahab was influenced by the Sindhi scholar Abu Hayat as Sindhi who was following the tradition of Ahmed Sirhindi.

Also Abdul Wahab was a continuation of a long line of Hanbali scholars who were part of a school known for their conservatism, dislike of innovation including scholars such as Ibn Taymiya from Syria and of course the Hanabilah of Iraq.

f: Restrictions on some of the prohibitions on women.

g: Improvement of the rights of foreign workers including abolition of the kafala system, a powerful commission related to the ministry of interior for the monitoring of expatriate rights. This is the social media age and dissemination of the brutality many workers face will embarass the Saudi state and cannot be hidden. This commission should monitor the treatment of foreign nationals in Saudi Arabia including prevention of rape, punishment of rape, physical abuse and torture of workers, de facto slavery of workers etc.

h: Replacing the Islamic declaration of faith on the Saudi flag with the Saudi symbol of the fort and palm trees on the national flag instead.

This symbol can be on the national flag, in its current rectangular format, to represent Saudi Arabia to the world and used in international conferences or on footballs. The current flag can be transferred for use as a flag representing the government or state.

Using the current Saudi flag on footballs for example even according to Salafiyaa itself constitutes "Kufr amali" (an action of disbelief).

These are just some of the measures the Saud tribe must make in order to survive.

                  4. Also there must be an end to interfering in the domestic affairs of other Muslim countries including Bangladesh where Saudi supports the radical Jamaat e Islami and bullies Bangladesh including the harassment of Bangladeshi workers inside Bangladesh as a form of pressure on the Dhaka government. An end to support and promotion of Pakistani interests in Bangladesh.

Ali Al-Ghamdi must also be removed from any role in government policy towards Bangladesh or Pakistan as he is a well-known liar and troublemaker.

Abdullahil Azami, a senior Jamaati in Bangladesh and son of war criminal Ghulam Azam. He and the Jamaat are anti-Bangladeshi and are backed by Saudi Arabia. The Jamaat has threatened Bangladeshis many times and also killed Bangladeshis.

Azami's Jamaat e Islami organization were involved in many war crimes in the 1971 genocide and are backed by Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Many Bangladeshis want the total ban of this violent and radical organization.

I will not post in this thread anymore unless I hear anything more about Saudi bullying of Bangladesh, support for Jamaat or some other reason to cause me to highlight the nature of the Saudi state.

If they mess with Bangladesh, there will be consequences as we have already seen.

                  • Bangladesh PM Hasina coming for 2-day visit

                    JEDDAH: FADIA JIFFRY
                    Published — Thursday 21 November 2013

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to arrive in the Kingdom on Thursday morning to perform Umrah during a two-day visit, the country’s consul general, Nazmul Islam, said in Jeddah.
“The prime minister will be accompanied by her family members, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni and a few members of Parliament,” said Islam.
Her visit to the Kingdom follows her participation in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) that was held last week in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The consul general confirmed that the PM’s visit will be a very private one and that she would go directly to Makkah to perform Umrah. Hasina will also visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah on the same day.

According to Islam, the visiting prime minister is expected to discuss the current labor status of Bangladeshi workers and provide instructions for the welfare of her people among diplomatic missions and community leaders.

The consul general also confirmed that 800,000 Bangladeshi workers have benefitted from the amnesty period and successfully legalized their statuses and that others have managed to leave the country.

                    1. The Saudi regime hate the Bangladeshi prime minister Hasina Wajid as Pakistan hates her and so does Jamaat. So the Saudi regime do what the Pakistanis and Jamaatis want them to do.

                    2. The visit will be a very private one i.e. very little or completely no official protocol for the head of government of 150 million people. In diplomatic terms this is a very humiliating way to treat a serving head of government.

                    3. The Saudi regime work with Pakistan and bully Bangladesh whenever there is an Awami League government including organizing the harassment of Bangladeshi workers in Saudi and banning the recruitment of Bangladeshi workers.

However the Saudi regime need to be careful and behave themselves as they will face trouble if they do not.

                      • Iraqi shia group bombs Saudi.

Mortar bombs land in Saudi desert

Saudi Arabia and Iraq are investigating an incident in which six mortar bombs landed in a remote area of Saudi Arabia near the border with Iraq and Kuwait.

The Saudis say they do not know who fired the mortars, or from where.

A small Shia militant group in Iraq, known as the Mukhtar Army, has claimed it carried out the attack, although this cannot be confirmed.

The group said it was a warning to Saudi Arabia to stay out of Iraq's affairs.

                        'Warning'

The militia's commander, Wathiq al-Batat, told Reuters that the goal of the attack "was to send a warning message to Saudis to tell them that their border stations and patrol are within our range of fire".

The mortars fell in an uninhabited area near Hafr al-Batin in the kingdom's Eastern Province.

The mortar fire comes two days after suicide bombers killed more than 20 people outside the Iranian embassy in the Lebanese capital, Beirut.

On Thursday Saudi Arabia advised its citizens to leave Lebanon following those bombs.

The continuing civil war in Syria is fuelling increased tensions between nations in the region.

Saudi Arabia, which is largely Sunni, backs the rebels fighting to overthrow President Bashar al-Assad, whereas Shia Iran and Shia militias in Iraq and Lebanon back the president.

                          • Bangladeshi prime minister, Hasina Wajid is in Saudi now to perform umrah (minor pilgrimage). I am worried for the welfare of Bangladeshi workers, because often when someone from the Awami League government goes to Saudi to speak to the Saudi regime, the next day Saudi police start harassing Bangladeshi workers. I hope it hasn't happened this time but these are the Saudis who are animals and thugs, so anything is possible.

Oh Allah bless your holy prophet and his ummah. Please protect the Islamic ummah from the Saudi regime and the Al-Saud tribe and please protect Bangladesh and Bangladeshi workers from the brutality and evil of the Saudis.

                            Ameen, thumma ameen.

On my way from lunch at Dubai Internet City, I ran into a number of university students who were also on their lunch break. There were people from different cultures wearing colorful costumes and speaking with a variety of accents. An Indian woman in a colorful sari was walking beside me, while nearby a blonde European woman was talking to her African girlfriend.

A group of Asian youth were hurrying to reach their offices on time. They were being faithful to their culture which respects time and punctuality. There were also a number of Gulf men and women in their traditional dress. All of this was like a humanitarian painting of beautiful peaceful coexistence. At that particular moment, I felt that I was a truly international person with all of humanity as my origin, race and tribe.

A few days later back in Saudi Arabia, my mother told me about something which had pained her. She had taken my younger sister to the mall with the daughter of our Filipina housemaid so that the children could play together. She said the shoppers stared at her with distain as if to ask how she would dare to let her daughter play with the daughter of her housemaid.

Our children are, in one way or another, the victims of a society which does not accept others. We all grow up among people who look the same as we do at home, school and university. As children the only foreigners we see are Asian or African housemaids. We grow up looking down on them as inferior people. We soon develop the notion that anyone coming from another country is inferior to us. Therefore, we will have generations of Saudis who do not like foreigners.

In a moment of candidness, my Tanzanian girlfriend told me that she had been afraid I might not accept her friendship. She told me her idea about Gulf women was that they do not easily accept others and were not keen to develop ties with people who were culturally different from them, let alone people who practiced a different religion and came from far off countries.

I knew that what she said was not far from the truth. We GCC and Saudi citizens are arrogant and often despise others and look down on them. We should not be ashamed of saying this because the recognition of a problem is the first step toward its solution.

My friend was astonished by our double standards. She said Gulf people claim to be the most religious, but their behavior in real life is far from being Islamic.

We will remain poor if we do not have friends from other countries and origins. This universe is beautiful because of the diversity of its inhabitants.

                              Nice article, but:

                              1. Abolish slavery in Saudi Arabia e.g. the Kafalah system.

                              2. Create a commission to prevent the abuse of foreign nationals in your country.

You are sons and daughters of the Najd, a barren desert and home of Musaylamah al Kaddhab. Those who read the holy Quran are also familiar with your bedouin ancestors, the "A'raab". May Allah guide you and protect the Islamic ummah from you sons and daughters of the Najd.

Ethiopian women and children have staged a demonstration in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh over the deterioration of their situation in the kingdom.

At Friday’s protest, the migrants accused the Saudi government of violating the rights of foreign workers.

They also said Saudi officials are trying to make up excuses to expel them from the oil-rich country.

Earlier this week, Ethiopians also staged demonstrations in France and the United States to protest against the conditions of Ethiopian migrant workers in Saudi Arabia.

At least three Ethiopian nationals have been killed in clashes with Saudi police in recent weeks, as the crackdown on foreign workers has intensified.

Riyadh plans to repatriate at least 23,000 undocumented Ethiopian migrants.

The Saudi government has announced plans to create jobs for Saudi nationals by reducing the number of foreign workers totaling some nine million people.

Hundreds of thousands of workers have already left the kingdom amid tougher conditions for migrants.

Foreign workers cannot change jobs or leave Saudi Arabia without the permission of their sponsors, who are often Saudi companies or individuals who provide workers to businesses for profit.

Most of the sponsors take away the passports of the workers for the duration of their contract.

Human rights groups have criticized Saudi Arabia over the condition of migrant workers in the kingdom and called on Riyadh to abolish the sponsorship system for migrant workers.

Saudi Government has failed to respect basic human right to African Immigrants. Saudi Arabia Gov has a lack of knowledge for universally accepted right of any human being. The whole world knows that most Saudi employers treat their immigrant employees as animals (they torture, rape and kill them anytime of a day). Nobody can bring them to justice and it is suicidal for immigrants to stand agonist their Employers in Saudi. All people in the world have to know that gross human right violations are happening to African immigrants in Saudi as we speak. Number one targets are Ethiopian immigrants.
