  • Tense, the Kiev regime chief, Poroshenko and President Putin.

Putin has scored another victory with the German and French leaders travelling all the way next to Russian-border state and ally Belarus begging Putin for a "peace deal".

Many observers think that the latest "peace deal" will fail due to the extreme nature of the radical right regime in Kiev.

Putin seemed happy in the meeting.

President Putin takes a look at the head of the Kiev regime, Poroshenko.

    • Russia’s Putin wins in Ukraine conflict

The 16-hour marathon talks through last night and this morning in Minsk regarding conflict resolution in Ukraine by the leaders of the countries involved in the so-called ‘Normandy format’ – Germany, France, Russia and Ukraine – ended in an agreement. The 13 main points of the new agreement have carried forward the twelve-point Minsk accord of last September. But there is ‘additionality’ too insofar as timeline has been given for compliance by the warring sides and other protagonists.

The terms of the latest agreement confirms that Russia negotiated from a strong position — contrary to what the blistering western propaganda all along wanted us to believe. The ‘additionality’ in regard of the future of the eastern regions to be decided by the end of the year doubtless is a major gain for Russia, as the induction of Ukraine into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization [NATO] is virtually ruled out if the constitutional reform goes through. This has been the core Russian demand.

However, this is also going to be the biggest sticking point, since the diehard nationalist lobby in Kiev, which is strongly represented in the current set-up, will deeply resent making any concessions as regards devolution of powers to the eastern regions. President Petro Poroshenko will find himself between the rock and a hard place on this issue, as he is already under fire from the nationalist camp ruling the roost in Kiev. Again, if Washington wants to derail the entire peace process, it won’t have to look far.

Unsurprisingly, therefore, Russia has made the sealing of Ukraine’s border with Russia conditional on the constitutional reform coming through. Which is to say, when the chips are down, Moscow has ensured that it’s ‘everything, or, nothing.’

Secondly, the ceasefire will come into force only on Sunday and between now and then, it is entirely conceivable that the warring parties will make attempts to gain tactical gains on the ground. Debaltseve, in particular, poses a problem, because Kiev does not even acknowledge that several thousands of its troops there have been surrounded by the separatist forces.

In fact, Russian President Vladmir Putin’s remarks, here, indirectly touched on the Debaltseve issue. Conceivably, the separatists may eventually allow – under Russian pressure – to evacuate the besieged Ukrainian troops to safety.

But on the whole, while there is no dearth of doomsday predictions about the latest agreement withering away (as had happened to last September’s accord), the probability is that this German-French-Russian deal will hold and the fighting will stop — at least in immediate terms. The separatists have the upper hand and they will want to consolidate their gains, while the forces deputed from Kiev have been battered out of shape and will also want to recoup.

As I said above, the catch lies in Kiev’s willingness to concede autonomy to the eastern regions. The kinetics of the Ukraine conflict will ultimately depend on the issue of constitutional reform.

Without doubt, Putin comes out on top, as Moscow’s consistent stance that it has no territorial ambitions over Ukraine has been vindicated. What emerges, on the other hand, is that Russia wants to preserve Ukraine’s territorial integrity and is willing to contribute to that end – provided, of course, Russia’s legitimate interest in a Ukraine that gets along well equally with both the West and Russia is ensured. The German and French leaders seem to get the point. But what about their trans-Atlantic partner in Washington? President Barack Obama is finding himself almost in the same boat as Poroshenko. Today’s accord will be torn to pieces by Obama’s neocon critics who will accuse him of having ‘appeased’ Russia. They want the US to go to war, if need be, to stop Russia’s ‘aggression’. Some harsh writings have already begun appearing in the north american media. The Ukrainian emigre community is very influential in Canadian politics, too.

      - This former Indian diplomat is saying Putin won this one.

      - Russia is not looking to annex parts of Ukraine or to make these areas independent.

      - Russia wants a united Ukraine but one with a federal structure and autonomy for Russian-speaking regions.

      - America does not want peace in Ukraine, but continued chaos and instability in Europe and on Russia's borders.

      Putin is winning this.

                • Putin appears the biggest winner of Ukrainian cease-fire talks

                  http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...c35_story.html

                  Slate.com:

Most troubling about the new agreement is that Ukraine doesn’t regain “full control” over hundreds of miles of border with Russia until after local elections in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions and the passing of a new Ukrainian constitution with “the key element of decentralization”—both of which must happen before the end of 2015.

In other words, Putin determines who and what crosses the border into Ukraine until he is satisfied the Kiev government has genuflected deeply enough. And if Poroshenko doesn’t survive the domestic political fight to implement the Minsk provisions—plenty of Ukrainians already consider him a traitor—then more chaos in Kiev can only open up new opportunities for the Kremlin....

Putin has nothing to lose. If the Obama administration now pushes ahead with weapon deliveries to the Ukrainian army, the United States will look like a warmonger—not only to Russians but to many Europeans as well. After all, a new peace deal was just brokered in Minsk.
BERLIN—The hastily arranged Ukraine peace talks in Minsk, Belarus, coincided with the 70th anniversary of the end of the Yalta Conference on Feb. 11,...

7500 Mosques Have Been Erected In Russia Since Putin Became President

Cathedral Mosque being built in Ufa, Bashkortostan | islam-info.ru

                      Paul Goble December 4, 2014

Staunton, December 4 – Since Vladimir Putin became president, the Muslims of Russia have erected 7,500 mosques or slightly more one per day, a statistic in which the Islamic community of that country can take great pride but one that may disturb some of Putin’s supporters who believe that he is committed to making Russia more Russian.

That figure; far more than the number which opened at the end of Gorbachev’s time or during Yeltsin’s and more than a third of the total number of mosques in the Russian Empire before the Bolsheviks closed them as part of their anti-religious effort; was announced by Talgat Tajuddin, the head of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate (MSD) in Ufa.

Speaking in Sverdlovsk yesterday, Tajuddin, who has sometimes styled himself as “the supreme mufti of Holy Rus,” delivered what the Nakanune.ru news agency characterized as “a quite sharp speech in which he declared that the main threat to Muslims and the surrounding world consists of radical Islamic trends.”

“Radicalism and extremism have entered Sverdlovsk oblast like the Ebola virus,” the mufti said. They must be fought because these trends “have ascribed to themselves the right to judge independently” of any other Muslims. That is the attitude of “the godless,” but “our grandmothers always said that it is impossible to separate ourselves from society.”

Russia’s Muslims have accomplished a lot in addition to building a record number of mosques. But now there is a real risk that “the radicals will destroy what has been accomplished and inflict enormous harm on Muslims and the entire society.” That is something that simply “cannot be ignored.”

Tajuddin said that it was impermissible that such radicals continue to function “when the entire Middle East is bubbling and ‘brother has risen against brother’ in Ukraine.” During the war, he continued, “everyone suffered alike.” Muslims suffered just like all other Russians. And “we must remember how we all have lived together in one country.”

“May God grant that not too much more time will pass until we again become a single power, without a dictatorship, without a revolution,” the Ufa mufti said, “but as a result of love and concord. If Europe is united, then who can prevent us from doing the same?” And Russia’s Muslims need to fight for this now because prevention is better than having to put out fires.

Given all that, the mufti continued in a comment to the news agency, “any cases of provoking inter-ethnic or inter-religious hostility are examples of extremism. The very first task of a representative of any confession, be they Muslims, Christians, Jews or Buddhist, and of each citizenship is to preserve their country and hand it over to their children and grandchildren.”

Tajuddin was in Yekaterinburg for the appointment of a new mufti and his team for six year terms and for signing agreements with the governors of Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk oblasts. Sixteen of the 24 Muslim parishioners in the oblast were represented, but Tajuddin’s MSD is only one of six competing ones in the region.

The new regional mufti, Radifulla Gindullin, also spoke. He said that “our generation which began to be acquainted with Islam 20 to 25 years ago studied according to quite specific books, many of which were issued on money from Saudi Arabia, and Islam there is treated in an extremely one-sided manner.”

“With surprise,” he continued, “we found out that our Tatar and Bashkir enlightenment figures [the jadids of the end of the Russian imperial period] were well known throughout the entire Islamic world but under alien names.” Russia’s Muslims in contrast knew “practically nothing” about them. That needs to be changed too.

Another speaker was Rinat Rayev, the chief mufti of the Urals Federal District. He agreed that the problems of radicalization were all too real, and he noted that the situation of multiple and competing muftiates and MSDs was making it worse, not only leading to corruption but opening the way for Islamists from Syria, Iraq and elsewhere.

Staunton, December 4 – Since Vladimir Putin became president, the Muslims of Russia have erected 7,500 mosques or slightly more one per day, a statistic in which the Islamic community of that country can take great pride but one that may disturb some of Putin’s supporters who believe that he is committed to making Russia […]

                      - However as far as I know "Wahabism" is still officially a banned ideology in Russia and Russian security forces do carry out operations against extreme "Islamists", such as an operation recently in Bashkortostan.

Russian Muslims want to build mosque in Moscow named after PutinA centralized religious organization "United Islamic Congress of Russia" appealed to the leadership of the country and the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin with a request to allow them to build a mosque named after Vladimir Putin. "We should also adopt a law to extend the powers of our leader, Vladimir Putin," they said.

                        • *** THREAD REVIEW ***

A lot of people may not take some of the content of this thread seriously, but I would like to remind people of certain important points which I gained from relatively well-informed contacts.

                          1. Libya last straw.
                          2. US backed down from attacking Syria due to China and Russia.
                          3. Russia now hinting at attacking Saudi if Obama arms the "Ukranian army" (Kiev junta).

                          Libya the last straw

                          1. After the US/NATO destruction of Libya, China and Russia said that this was their "Czechoslovakia moment" i.e. after Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia, Britain and France said the next time Hitler invaded a country it would mean war.

China, Russia block US attack on Syria

                          2. The US was poised to take control of Syria following their usual method for regime change.

a: Media blitz showing "human rights" abuses, suffering
b: world anger caused by this media campaign followed by UN resolutions
c: Promotion of US approved/sponsored rebel groups as the "legitimate opposition"
d: UN resolution approving "no fly zone" + US starts bombing their enemy state and helping the "rebel" groups supported by them.

China and Russia, which did not even veto anti-Iran resolutions in the UN, blocked all resolutions against Syria.

                          Why?

Why block resolutions against Syria and not far bigger and more important Iran?

Because as I said after Libya, China and Russia decided that the US had gone too far and that it was a threat to them.

China and Russia believed (rightly) that after Syria, the US would go for Iran, and that after Iran, China and Russia themselves were next.

China and Russia did not do this - back Syria - for morality but for pure national survival in the long-term.

FACT: China and Russia sent war ships off the Syrian coast when the US said it was going to bomb Syria after a chemical attack on civilians blamed on the Assad regime.

What however is not clear, but it is alleged is that US missiles were launched at Syria and were then shot down by Russia with undisclosed technology and that Russia threatened America with nuclear war.

Putin is alleged to have threatened the American regime with nuclear war over Syria thus leading to an American U-turn on bombing Syria, whereas they had invaded Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya before.

Russia has the largest nuclear arsenal on earth.

Russia is now hinting at attacking Saudi Arabia if America arms "Ukraine" (Kiev regime).

                          3. Russia is now hinting at attacking Saudi Arabia perhaps via Iran if America arms Ukraine.

                          Russia is playing hardball now.

                          - After the US invasion of Afghanistan...

                          - After the US invasion of Iraq, bypassing the UN...

                          - After the US invasion of Libya (when China and Russia were lied to) ....

                          Enough was enough, no more.

Syria could not fall and Russia and China would go to nuclear war if needed.

Syria became to Russia and China what Israel is to America, i.e. just as America will go to nuclear war for Israel and never allow it to fall so Moscow and Beijing will never allow the Assad government to fall ever.

                          The gloves are off.

Russia knows this is a war for its very survival and existence.

A country which lost perhaps 30 million people in the second world war, has now decided that the gloves are off, this is why Russia is now conducting aggressive military flights off the British coast, the Irish coast, Finland and sending forces close to the US near the Mexican coast.

Russia and China have seen the US terrorizing and bullying the entire world and invading countries and destroying them, with torture camps, rapes (e.g. Iraq) and realize it is a state far more aggressive than Nazi Germany ever was.

Now instead of sitting back, the Russians are getting ready to deal with the Americans and to teach the murderous American regime a lesson - which only picks on weak states - a lesson it will never forget.

America in action, an American thug torturing Iraqis in Abu Ghraib. America invaded Iraq, set up torture camps, raped Iraqi women and used nuclear weapons in the form of ammunition with depleted uranium resulting in huge numbers of Iraqi children born with defects. The enviromental damage that America has done to Iraq and the Mesopotamia region is greater than the devastation inflicted on it by the Mongol hordes.

                          • This is a global conflict with China, Russia (allied with Iran) versus the US and its vassals.

                            - China is the ultimate power in this as it has thousands of years of civilization and history compared to Russia's one thousand, which is still greater than the US which has over 200 years of history and is a recent newcomer.

As it is a global conflict we now move our gaze away from Ukraine - for a moment - to Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia which contains the region of Hejaz. Hejaz is the birthplace of Islam.

Russian officials have hinted at even encouraging an Iranian attack on Saudi Arabia if America arms Ukraine.

Yes, Russian officials, not the author of this thread but Russian officials quoted by the Moscow Times.

                            Below is an article.

Russian official: We could help Iran attack Saudi Arabia if US arms Ukraine

                            FEB. 10, 2015, 11:04 AM Ukraine February 8, 2015.

Despite President Obama’s claim on Monday that he has not yet made a decision about supplying defensive weapons to the Ukrainian army, which is battling Russia-backed separatists who want an independent region within that country, the Russian media is full of predictions. They’re warning of the terrible impact further U.S. involvement in the conflict might have.

Quoting a member of the Russian Defense Ministry's public advisory board who requested anonymity, The Moscow Times reported Monday that if the U.S. supplied arms to Ukraine, it would be viewed as an act of war. That action would not only increase the tension in the region, it would also force the Kremlin to “respond asymmetrically against Washington or its allies on other fronts,” the publication reported.

"We can also encourage Iran, or even back Iran in a fight — a military operation — with Saudi Arabia, so then the prices for oil will skyrocket," the source said.

Evgeny Buzhinsky, a former lieutenant general in the Russian Army who is now at the Moscow-based PIR Center, told the publication, “Russia would reasonably consider the U.S. to be a direct participant in the conflict.”

Also on Monday, the government-owned news agency ITAR-TASS reported that Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said, “We see major pressure on the issue in the United States, especially in Congress.”

“If the U.S., following a request from the Ukrainian government, starts supplying weapons to Kiev, it will violate a number of international documents,” Churkin said. “The U.S. has repeatedly chosen a graded approach to rules of international law.”

. The leaders of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France agreed to meet in Belarus on Wednesday to try to broker a peace deal for Ukraine amid escalating violence there and signs of cracks in the transatlantic consensus on confronting Vladimir Putin.

The government news agency also quoted Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, as calling the U.S. position a bluff. “It is just a kind of poker bidding up, it is a bluff, an attempt to press Putin to be more tractable,” Bortnik reportedly said.

Will the U.S. supply arms to Ukraine? “Of course not,” Bortnik told TASS. “It might trigger an arms race bound to end up in Ukraine’s complete military defeat.”

Bortnik and his organization, it should be noted, are difficult to find in news archives, except in stories published by Russia’s government-friendly media.

The Obama administration’s position on arming Ukraine is actually still far from clear.

While Obama held open the possibility during Monday’s joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who arrived in Washington, D.C. Sunday evening, he was also dismissive of the Ukrainian army’s ability to effectively counter a “determined” Russian advance. U.S. aid, Obama suggested, would be aimed at raising the costs to Russia of further aggression, not actually preventing it entirely.

“The prospect for a military solution to this problem has always been low,” he said. “Russia obviously has an extraordinarily powerful military and given the length of the Russian border with Ukraine, given the history between Russia and Ukraine, expecting that if Russia is determined that Ukraine can fully rebuff a Russian army has always been unlikely.”

Ukraine has been losing ground in its eastern regions to the pro-Russian separatists, who are apparently armed with advanced armor from Russia. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko over the weekend made an emotional appeal to western leaders for defensive weapons to help counter the separatists’ assaults. “We are an independent nation and we have a right to defend our people,” Poroshenko said Saturday at a high-level security conference in Munich. “Over the course of the offensive we have proved to be responsible and we will not use the defensive equipment for attack.”

                            - The Saudis made a grave mistake threatening Russia with terrorism a few years back when Bandar went to Moscow and threatened to use Chechen terrorists against Russia if it did not stop backing Syria.

Saudi Arabia is ruled by idiots!

A Texan with a Saudi father working for the Saudi regime used to post on a notorious Pakistani hate site, defence.pk, using the handle "Yzd Khalifa", this thug openly used to threaten Russians with terrorism, abuse and insult Bangladeshis calling them "savages" and "criminals" and openly talking of sensitive state affairs including the politicial opinions of the crown prince Muqrin.

This Texan thug also posted Youtube videos of Iranian women being executed and gloated over it.

The fact is Iranian intelligence and the Russian FSB most probably have this thug's details on their file including his activities in both Saudi and Texas.

Another idiot the moronic Saudis used to employ is a notorious anti-Bangladeshi thug by the name of Ali Al-Ghamdi who regularly publishes anti-Bangladesh articles on Saudi publications.

It is because of thugs and idiots like Yzd Khalifa and Ali Al-Ghamdi the Saudis find themselves in a situation where Russian officials are openly hinting at an attack on Saudi.

Saudis need to get rid of thugs like Yzd Khalifa and Ali Al-Ghamdi and idiots who know nothing about the real world, e.g. fellate Pakistanis, abuse 150 million Bengalis, issue threats on public internet forums about using terrorism against Russia.

                            - The Saudis have today closed their embassy in the Yemeni capital, Sana'a as the capital is now under the control of a pro-Iranian Shia group.

Personally I hope that Saudi Arabia is never attacked and I doubt it ever will due to my spiritual beliefs on the blessed nature of the Arabian peninsula. Nor do I personally like Iranians as they are often dishonest and rude..

There are perhaps as much as 2 million Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia who are helping the poor country to maintain itself.

Any war in Saudi would be a catastrophe for Bangladesh.

In any Iranian v Saudi war, the Bangladeshi military, government and public would support Saudi. The only exception being the pro-Iranian Jamaat e "Islami".

However the point being is that America and Saudi Arabia need to stop causing trouble and destabilizing other countries or as Russia is clearly hinting it will one day nuke America or help attack Saudi if they don't.

China also has a naval presence near Saudi Arabia just off Yemen.

China's military have forces near Saudi Arabia off the gulf of Aden.

                            • There are unconfirmed reports that the American regime may have supplied their puppet regime in Ukraine with tactical mini-nukes, which can be stored in very compact containers.

There is no concrete evidence for this.

However it cannot be discounted as a possibility.

The United States government is the only regime on earth to have ever used nuclear weapons, in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

It has also effectively nuked Iraq not in one concentrated attack but the use of depleted uranium through out the country.

Hiroshima in Japan, nuked by the US.

                              • Putin's a dictator. The fact that the military regime in Egypt maintains close ties with him is not a good thing.
