    Toramana,

You present your opinions and hardly do you ever get aggressive and go on attack, so you are ok to exchange ideas with.

      Back to the topic.

      Islam needs to be respected.

        Manzareh,

Thanks - this is really a wise topic to introduce because there is such a tiny minority of us who do care about the endless mocking or denigration of Islam and Islamic way of life.

Someone just wrote me a message that 100 percent of Afghans are pro-secular and that this Forum IS representative of the way Afghans think.
He had started the subject by saying there are only a few on THIS side of the fence so we are badly outnumbered.

Well, contrary to Toramana's idea, I feel the 6 or 7 of us have the most substantive comments in specific areas : politics, religion, international news.

Of course there are too many other areas where others may often be better informed. Language, culture, history, for example.
[Not always though: I am still enjoying the info from that Asfand thread of Manzareh's, for example!]

Could you clarify whether you are a Muslim or nt and what is you nationality and ethnic origin?

WHy does it matter what Catya Sher or any other member is (their ethnicity)? This disease is what destroyed the Muslims. Why question their beliefs repeatedly?

            Lets stick to the topic.

              He's right.
I was about to answer and then I realized:
              WAIT A MINUTE!
It's always this type of thing - same as used by Roshina most ineffectively in Sk's Announcement thread - which feels like a deliberately diversionary attack.

For example say you are a general who sends a particular wing to go attack the enemy and make them spend a lot of manpower defending that area. Then the main part of their army is weakened.

So you guys who repeatedly use this tactic against some of us are just doing the same thing so we will have to divert our resources and scatter rather than speak from a coordinated, organized pro-Islamic stance.

Glad you are so smart to stop it from going farther, Unknown!

I praise him because he's very "with it".

Few others here ARE ! Those who are concentrate in this Religion section.
They are uniformly upset about the NATO actions to ruin Afghanistan.

You know, the rest simply show no caring whatsoever about the loss of Afghan life.
They are too busy worrying about vain and horribly decadent pursuits, some of them.

So you might sum up that it's the "Islamic types" who also have HEARTS.
The rest seem either materialistic, or.. ?

I'm trying to figure out the dichotomy for myself.

Because it's essential to understand why people are so negative about what matters and so positive about things I consider to be negative !

Manzareh, my first post directed towards you since you've joined. So I begin with a welcome. You're among the handful who raise this topic. I agree with your concern and I thought the same in the first stages of this websites creation. You may think what changed my views about responding to and refuting certain claims, ridiculing and the mockery that is coming out. While in my own personal life, Islam is at the forefront where every decision and act begins and ends at it, I have changed my stance on this forum, for many reasons. The most prominent, and the one I desire to share, is that some of our very own Muslims advance Islam in every topic that is conferred, and step out of line, yet they justify their ill-manners as a teaching of this flawless religion. I have a problem with that. I am a Muslim, yet I am not someone who will argue that the words of non-Muslims mean little because he doesn't have a foot-long beard or because she doesn't wear a khimaar that sweeps the streets she walks. I am a Muslim, living in a western country, yet I am not someone who intends to over power the people of this country with violent measures to accept my Deen. I am a Muslim, and a human, who has committed all sorts of bad, and good, but neither of it gives me the right to sale so high that when I am reminded of my past, my fall is so hurtful I begin to demean and humiliate others. I have a problem with that. And these kinds of arguments have been debated here, and the result is insult after insult directed at the person at the receiving end, which is almost always, a non-Muslim or a deviant. That said, we've (as staff) drew a fine line between mocking Islam in the name of questioning, and many a time, via our private communication mediums, this is conferred to the extent that warnings about a members presence here are issued. Pointing out the loopholes and inconsistencies in other religions, including Islam, is one thing. Degrading its followers and its teachings, is another. This site gives very little room to the latter, however, if such debates do proceed, it is solely that - a debate. As I said, I agree with your concern, but at the end of the day, the only thing that can change it, is our own behavior and approach, and not diffused responsibility.

Islam would not get attacked if it was not for pretentious Muslims siding with its enemies all the time. These "Muslims" join the side of Islam's enemies when the attacking happens, and then disgracefully put on a smile as if nothing happened. When confronted, they say that they were trying to help Muslims by trying to make them see what its enemies were trying to say--all the while attacking Islamic tenets by quoting the Quran out of context.

This is the state of some people on this forum who have gained the respect of the enemies of Islam, and are trying to preserve that respect at all costs.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

                      Mahzala khore, masha allah.

Bottom line is that we have recognize Irshad Manji look alikes on a daily basis, not only on Halloween. They are very sweet in their talk and when they voice their concerns. They first pin-point the problems with Islam. When confronted, they change their stance and say that the problems is with Muslims. Then, when confronted again, with a smile, they ignore you.

Muslim have to be vigilant and recognize these impostors, otherwise the whole orchard would get spoiled in due time.

May Allah protect Islam and Muslims.

I liked the response by Mazhela very much...thanks for that Mazhala...

I have genuine question about religion and despite hard effort I cannot convince myself about many things about religion...It is not out of some misplaced antagonism...that day, I entered into an argument with a professor who is a devout Christian...

anyhow, being a Muslim (in the sense of culture) i want to see Muslims propser and to be empowered...but that cannot happen through the self-destructive way we are witnessing...they need empowerment in the fundamental sense...i.e., reformation, re-organization, rationalism (in practical matters at least), basic human development, ...etc. all other things are just the Corollary of these things...

                          Re Shlombey's first post:

                          Yes! At least one.
                          Maybe more...

THANK YOU for being brave enough to point this out.
                          No offense to Mahzala.
Sometimes nice words are just that.
                          Nice words.

What Shlombay says here is the truth of the matter.
There are many other dimensions as well.
This is one of the core problems, though.

                            Shlombay, it's been a while, I hope you're well.

I realise what you're saying and in all honesty, I have considered many things, many a time, as you well know. But, as I said in my earlier post, the point of change for each individual is when he considers his own approach and begins to realise that depending on others is futile. Diffused responsibility does little good. And one more thing - as the English say - I have never been a believer of might is right, rather the other way around. If someone from the staff says a certain something that is wrong on every level, it doesn't make it right simply because they carry the title and responsbility of maintaining order on this forum. Pakhto ce wayu kana, tse de kaanhi kerkha kho neda. Right will always stand out from wrong, so we should leave it at that, in my very humble opinion.

^Khore, the problem is that she takes liberty with her status and enjoys the backing of our enemies--which keeps her energized.
