        Praise be to Allaah.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is alive in his grave in the sense of the life of al-barzakh, so he enjoys the blessings that Allaah has prepared for him as a reward for his great good actions that he did in this world. But the life in the grave is not like the life of this world, or the life in the Hereafter. Rather it is the life of al-barzakh which comes in between his life in this world and his life in the Hereafter. Hence we know that he died as other Prophets and other people before him died. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

Islam Question and Answer - Can the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) hear those who call upon him when he is in his grave?

Holy Quran: "And say not those who have been slain in the path of Allah to be dead for they are alive and you do not know."
The status of Prophet (SAWAW) is greater in all respects than any one else, including the Martyrs. If the Martyrs could be "alive" according to the Quran, then why can't the Prophet (SAWAW) be, whose every single characteristic is greater than anyone else?
This question has been asked 100s of time here before. If the Prophet(SAWAW) is dead then why do you guys testify, in your Kalimas, that He (SAWAW) "IS" the messenger of Allah:
I bear witness that there is no God but God
I bear witness that Muhammad is God's messenger

"is" above implies a present tense. If you insist on believing that the Prophet (SAW) is dead, then why don't you change your kalimas accordingly? To something like "I bear witness that Muhammad (SAW) was God's messenger"... because if you dont change your kalima you will be testifying that He (SAWAW) IS, again, IS Prophet (SAW) (meaning PRESENT)
Ma ta zane kasano pore khanda rashi kala na kala, walking contradictions lol.

An ordinary human being does not receive prophethood. No prophet was an ordinary human being.

Our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) has the status of being the Beloved of Allah and the Best of Creation. He is far, far from being an ordinary human being. In his answer above, Mufti Muhammad quotes the famous lines from the Burda:

            Muhammad is a man, but not like men;
He is an emerald, and others mere stone.

Believing that he is alive does not negate that he experienced physical death.

From Mufti Muhammad's answer Are the Prophets Alive in Their Graves?:

The belief (Aqidah) of the mainstream Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah is that our beloved Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace) and all the other Prophets are alive in their graves.

This life is physical and worldly (dunyawiyyah), and not just a spiritual one with the soul (barzakhiyyah), as the latter is common for all the people. They are usually involved in performing prayer and worshiping Allah (out of their own free choice without it being obligatory on them), and we can normally not see or feel them.

This is the Aqidah held by the Sunni Muslims throughout the ages, and many books in Arabic have been written on this subject. The great Imam Suyuti (Allah have mercy on him) compiled a whole work on this subject titled 'Inba al-Azkiya bi Hayat al-Anbiya' (Informing the intelligent regarding the living of the Prophets), in which he quoted many evidences in support of this belief. Similarly, other scholars such as: Imam al-Bayhaqi, Imam Abdul Wahhab al-Sha'rani and Imam Ibn al-Qayyim in his book 'al-Ruh' (The Soul) have also written and gathered evidences with regards to this.

^Why don't you answer Abubakr's question about those who believe Rasullulah (saw) is in the actual congregation?

As a sheikh once said, if your gonna pretend that Rasullulah (saw) is in your congregation then the least you can do is make him the Imam.

Woah woah, what does this mean "normally" can not see or feel them...?

The Quran is clear in saying that the Deen is complete. Now even if the Muhammad SAW is alive than for what?

It is blasphemous to say that the Prophet (pbuh) is alive. This can lead to deviation. This thinking has resulted in the many sects of Islam that you see today.

The Prophet(pbuh) was the greatest man that ever lived. He is the only human being that has no black clot on his heart (it was removed when he was born). Essentially, the Prophet(pbuh) was the perfect example of how we all should be. Everyone else has this clot on the heart (all of us have it). Even the great scholars of our time have it.

He died a physical death (like all of us will). Attributing eternal life to him is akin to idolatry, and should be stopped.

Yes, in his qabr, and wherever else he wishes to be. Just like all the other previous prophets came to Jerusalem on the night of Isra' and Mi`raj to pray behind the Prophet (Allah bless him and them and give them peace):
The Prophet entered the mosque from a gate through which the sun and the moon could be seen when they set. He prayed two cycles of prayer and did not tarry long before a large throng of people had gathered. The Prophet recognized all the Prophets, some standing in prayer, some bowing, some prostrating. Then a caller called out to the prayer and the final call to prayer was made. They rose and stood in lines, waiting for the one who would lead them. Jibril took the hand of the Prophet and brought him forward. He led them in two cycles of prayer. (The Collated Hadith of Isra' and Mi`raj)
