Prophet Danyal as (Danial).
Abu Bakr Ibn Abu Dunya wrote in the book Ahkam-alQubur (The Rules of Graves), based on a long chain of citation, that the Prophet saww said: "Daniel prayed to his Lord, Great and Majestic for the nation of Muhammad to bury him." And he (i.e. Muhammad, PBUH) said: "Whoever discovers Daniel give him tidings of Paradise."
The man who discovered him (his corpse) was called Harqus. Umar ra sent to Abu Musa ra saying: "Bury him; and send to Harqus, for the Prophet has given him promise of Paradise."

This hadith is mursal (it has a good chain of citation).



Ibn Abu Dunya reported from Abu Bilal that Abu Musa found with Daniel a holy script and a container in which were dirhams, his ring and ointment. He wrote to Umar ra who replied: “Send the scripture to us, send some of the ointment, tell the Muslims who are with you to use it, share the dirhams among them, and leave the ring for you."

Abu Bakr Ibn Abu Dunya related without citation that when Abu Musa was told that he was Daniel, he stayed with him, embraced him, and kissed him. Then he wrote to Umar ra that he found with him nearly ten thousand Dhirhams. It used to be that people came to borrow from it, and if they did not return it, they became sick.
Umar ra ordered his burial in a grave to be kept secret and the money to be sent to the treasury, with the box and the ring a gift to him (Abu Musa).Abu Musa told four captives to dam the river and dig the grave in the middle.This hadeeth has a good citation.

Daniel’s Ring

Ibn Abu Dunya also reported, by a chain of citations, that a ring was seen on the hand of Ibn Abu Barda Ibn Abu Musa. The gem was carved with two lions with a man between them, whom they were licking. Abu Barda said: “This is the ring of that man whom the people of this town say is Daniel. Abu Musa took it the day he was buried. The learned people of the town told Abu Musa that soothsayers and astrologers told the king in Daniel’s time that a boy would be born who would destroy him and his kingdom. So the king swore to kill all the baby boys, except that they threw Daniel in the lions’ den, and the lion and lioness began to lick him and did not harm him. His mother came and took him. Abu Musa said: “And so Daniel carved his image and the image of the two lions into the gem of his ring, for him not to forget Allah’s blessing upon him in this.'” This has a good citation.

Maryam as (Mary)

Many people may be surprised that Muslims love Mary (Maryam as), the mother of Jesus(Isa as). In Quran, no woman is given more attention than Maryam. Maryam receives the most attention of any woman mentioned in the Quran even though all the Prophets with the exception of Adam had mothers.
Of the Quran’s 114 chapters, she is among the eight people who have a chapter named after them. The 19th chapter of the Quran is named after her,Surah e Maryam.
Mary means Maryam in Arabic.The third chapter in the Quran is named after her father, Imran. Chapters(Surah) Mariam and Imran are among the most beautiful chapters in the Quran. Maryam (peace be upon her) is the only woman specifically named in the Quran.
An authentic Haddith states that the Prophet saww said, “The superiority of ‘Aisha to other ladies is like the superiority of Tharid (i.e. meat and bread dish) to other meals. Many men reached the level of perfection, but no woman reached such a level except Mary, the daughter of Imran and Asia, the wife of Pharaoh.” (Bukhari 4.643).
Indeed, both Maryam and Pharoah’s wife Asia are an example (Quran 66:11-12).
The Virgin Mary plays a very significant role in Islam. She is an example and a sign for all people.

In the Quran, Maryam’s story begins while she is still in her mother’s womb. The mother of Marya m said: “O my Lord! I do dedicate into Thee what is in my womb for Thy special service: So accept this of me: For Thou hearest and knowest all things.” (Quran 3:35).

She wanted the baby in her womb to serve only the Creator. When Maryam was delivered, she said: “O my Lord! Behold! I am delivered of a female child!” (Quran 3:36).
She had expected her baby to be a male child who would grow up to be a scholar or religious leader.However, Allah had a better plan.Allah is the best of planners. Quran 3:36 continues “…and Allah knew best what she brought forth- ‘And no wise is the male like the female. I have named her Mariam, and I commend her and her offspring to Thy protection from Satan, the Rejected.'” Mariam literally means “maidservant of God.”

In Quran 3:37,Allah states that He accepted Maryam as her mother had asked. He made Maryam grow in purity.She was assigned to the care of an israelite prophet Zakariya as.This is interesting considering few women were given this opportunity.

“Every time that he entered (her) chamber to see her, he found her supplied with sustenance. He said: ‘O Maryam ! Whence (comes) this to you?’
She said: ‘From Allah.For Allah provides sustenance to whom He pleases without measure.'” (Quran 3:37).
Upon hearing Maryam's answer, “There did Zakariya pray to Allah, saying: ‘O my Lord! Grant unto me from Thee a progeny that is pure: for Thou art He that heareth prayer!'” (Quran 3:38).

Although his wife was barren and he was very old, Allah blessed Zacharia as and his wife with Yahya as( John).

The Quran discusses Maryam’s miraculous conception as well. “Relate in the Book (the story of) Maryam, when she withdrew from her family to a place in the East. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent her Our angel, and he appeared before her as a man in all respects.” (Quran 19:16-17). After seeing the angel, she said: “I seek refuge from thee to (Allah) Most Gracious: (come not near) if thou dost fear Allah.” (Quran 19:18).
The angel Jibrail as (Gabriel) responded: “Nay, I am only a messenger from thy Lord, (to announce) to thee the gift of a pure son.” (Quran 19:19).
Her next response is expected. She asked: “How shall I have a son, seeing that no man has touched me, and I am not unchaste?” (Quran 19:20).
The Angel Jibrail as said: “So (it will be): thy Lord saith, ‘That is easy for Me: and (We wish) to appoint him as a Sign unto men and a Mercy from Us.’ It is a matter (so) decreed.” (Quran 19:21). Maryam with blowing of Jibrail as then became pregnant.

Jesus(Isa as) is a Prophet and a Messenger. A Messenger is a Prophet who is given revelation from Allah. Whereas the Torah was revealed to Musa as (Moses) the Injeel (Gospel)was revealed to Jesus(Isaas). Messengers are a mercy, guidance, and sign from Allah. “And Allah will teach him (Jesus/Isa as) the Book and Wisdom, the Torat and the Injeel and (appoint him) as a messenger to the Children of Israel, (with this message):

‘I have come to you, with a Sign from your Lord, in that I make for you out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by Allah ’s leave. And I heal those born blind, and the lepers, and I bring the dead into life, by Allah ’s leave; and I declare to you what ye eat, and what ye store in your houses. Surely therein is a Sign for you if ye did believe. (I have come to you) to attest the Torah which was before me. And to make lawful to you part of what was (before) forbidden to you. I have come to you with a Sign from your Lord (Allah). So fear Allah, and obey me. It is Allah Who is my Lord and your Lord; then worship Him. This is a Way that is straight.'” (Quran 3:48-51).

Allah appointed messengers to help us answer questions such as: What happens after I die? What’s right and wrong? Does a supernatural world exist? What’s the purpose of my creation? Jesus as was calling people to the worship of only God. Only by God’s leave was Jesus as able to perform miracles.

“When Jesus/Isa found unbelief on their (the disciples) part he said: ‘Who will be my helpers to (the work of) Allah?”
Said the disciples: “We are Allah’s helpers: We believe in Allah, and do thou bear witness that we are Muslims.'” (Quran 3:52).

After conceiving Isa as, Maryam went away with the baby to a distant place (Quran 19:22).
“And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm-tree. She cried (in her anguish): ‘Ah! would that I had died before this! would that I had been a thing forgotten!'” (Quran 19:23). “But (a voice) cried to her from beneath the (palm-tree): ‘Grieve not! for thy Lord(Allah) hath provided a rivulet beneath thee; And shake towards thyself the trunk of the palm-tree: It will let fall fresh ripe dates upon thee. So eat and drink and cool (thine) eye. And if thou dost see any man, say, ‘I have vowed a fast to (Allah) Most Gracious, and this day will I enter into no talk with any human being.'” (Quran 19:24-26).

Muslims do not believe in of (Isa as)Jesus’ divinity. “The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He(Allah) created him from dust, then said to him: ‘Be.’ And he was.” (Quran 3:59).
Adam’s creation was even more miraculous because he was born without father and mother.

When maryam as brouht the baby to her people, they said: “O Maryam! truly a strange thing has thou brought! O sister of Aaron(Harun)! Thy father was not a man of evil, nor thy mother a woman unchaste!” (Quran 19:27-8).
Maryam then points to the baby.
They said: “How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?” (Quran 19:29).
Then a miracle occurs that is not mentioned in the Bible. In defense of his mother, Isa as said: “I am indeed a servant of Allah. He hath given me revelation and made me a prophet; And He hath made me blessed wheresoever I be, and hath enjoined on me Prayer and Charity as long as I live; (He hath made me) kind to my mother, and not overbearing or unblest; So peace is on me the day I was born, the day that I die, and the day that I shall be raised up to life (again)!” (Quran 19:30-33).

The virgin birth of Jesus(isa as) was a sign:
“And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples.” (Quran 21:91).
All previous Prophets confirmed the Oneness of Allah, Tawheed.On the Day of Judgment, when Jesus is asked if he had called people to worship him and his mother as two gods, Jesus /isa as will say: “Glory to Thee! never could I say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, Thou wouldst indeed have known it. Thou knowest what is in my heart, Thou I know not what is in Thine. For Thou knowest in full all that is hidden.” (Quran 5:116).

People should not worship any of Allah 's creation, including Jesus/isa as and Maryam. We must not assign any of Allah’s creation.
“He is Allah the Creator, the Maker, the Shaper. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. All that is in the heavens and the earth magnifies Him; He is the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.” (Qur’an 59:24).


“Behold! the angels said: ‘O Maryam! Allah hath chosen thee and purified thee – chosen thee above the women of all nations. O Maryam! worship thy Lord(Allah) devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down.'” (Quran 3:42-43).

Another Prophet with a message similar to Jesus/Isa as would later be born in Arabia in the sixth century...as prophecised in torat and injeel.Prophet Isa as told of coming of the last prophet, Mohammad saww.He also called people to the worship of Allah like all other prophets. Although unable to read and write, Muhammad (peace be upon him) would recite beautiful verses of the Quran as they were revealed to him. The Quran is a beautiful miracle, a sign, a mercy, a warner, and a guidance for all people. Muhammad is the last Prophet from a line of Prophets that included Noah(Nuh as), Abraham (Ibrahim as),Moses (Mosa as) and Jesus/Isa as(peace be upon them). All Prophets were models for righteous living. Muhammad’s sunnah, his sayings, example, and traditions, is also considered revelation. His sunnah is expressed in various books of Haddith.

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day, and remembers Allah much.” (Quran 33:21).

Allah created all people to worship Him and to live life based on His teachings and guidance. “And hold fast, all together, by the Rope which God (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah 's favor on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you that ye may be guided.” (Quran 3:103).

“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam (submission to Allah), never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter He will be in the ranks of those who have lost.” (Quran 3:85).

We accomplish this by bearing witness to Allah’s Oneness and accepting His final revelation in our daily lives. “O ye who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in a state of Islam.” (Quran 3:102).

There is none worthy of worship but Allah, and Muhammad saww is His final messenger.

You won’t realize what a crime it is attributing what’s not true to someone, until you know the true story, with all its realities.*This is the story of woman, whom Allah honored two millennia ago and made her one of the chosen women on Earth as well as in the Hereafter.*This is the story of “Maryam bint Imran”, also known as Mary, Mother of Jesus AS; as told to the prophet SAW by Allah. This is Mary in Islam.

“And when the angels said: Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you over all other women” (Quran 3:42).

Back then, in Rome, the Jews couldn’t be as far from their true religion as they were at the time of Maryam’s birth.*Idolatry was the state’s religion. Allah’s prophets were being killed; his commands rebelled against. And false beliefs prevailed.*At a time, when everyone back then was awaiting the birth of the Messiah. Allah, instead, willed that Maryam be born! And be honored!

One exception to the common disbelief back then was the family of ‘Imran’, who sincerely believed in Allah and respected His limits.*In this exceptional house, where Allah was always sought and trusted, Maryam was born.*When Maryam’s mother knew she was pregnant, she instantly prayed to Allah, praised Him and promised she would dedicate her child to Him.*I wish that we, Muslims today, would do like Mary’s mother, and dedicate our children to the One Who created them; Allah, the One and Only.

“Remember when the wife of ‘Imran said: My Lord, I have vowed to You whatever is in my womb, to be devoted (to Your service). Please accept it from me. You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. When she gave birth, she said: My Lord! I have given birth to a girl — and Allah knew very well what she had given birth to, male and female are not the same — and I have named her Mary and placed her and her children in Your safekeeping from satan, the accursed”*(Quran 3:35-36).

So what exactly did Maryam’s mother mean by “I have vowed to You whatever is in my womb, to be devoted”?

Maryam’s mother intended that her child be only preoccupied by the Hereafter, have no interest in the world, and do it with great devotion.*And subhan Allah right after giving birth to Maryam, and despite discovering it was a girl, not a boy, Maryam’s mother renewed her vow!

“I have named her Mary and placed her and her children in Your safekeeping from satan, the accursed” (3:36).*That is faith in its purest form!

Consequently, Allah SWT answered the sincere prayer*“and made her (Mary) grow in health and beauty” (Quran 3: 37).

Zakariya as



Zakariya (Zachariah) was an illustrious Prophet of the Israelites.He was one of the descendants of Prophet Sulaiman (peace be upon him).The name of his wife was al-Yashbi' who belonged to the family of Prophet Harun (peace be upon him).The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) was the patron of Mary, the mother of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him).He was the trustee of Hekal.He worked as a carpenter and earned his livelihood.

The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) kept the torch of Mosaic law burning.He used to pray devotionally and preach zealously.His wife and he were the symbols of piety and righteousness.Most of his kinsmen lacked in spirit of true faith. As they were seduced, they were inclined to doing evil deeds.
They were going out of the right path.The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) was much anxious about this state of affairs.He had no offspring and there was no suitable person to hold the office of priesthood of Hekal after his death.He was desirous of having a son to become his good successor.
He did not long for a son to satisfy a mere human desire for one's progeny.He wanted to have a son to maintain the warmth of religious activities. One night he stood in prayer in his sanctuary and prayed to Allah to bless him with a good son.He was conscious that he was in an advanced age and his wife was barren and unable to raise any issue. He had full faith in Allah Who possesses power to do whatever He wills.He came to know through his prophetic insight that Allah would grant his request.He would be blessed with a good son to act as his heir who could guide the people aright.

God in His infinite mercy removed the defect of his wife's barrenness so that she might become mother.She gave birth to Prophet Yahya. (peace be upon him) who was destined to be honourable, chaste, and a prophet from among the righteous.The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) felt satisfied as his son grew up and became a symbol of piety.He was graced with wisdom, obedience and asceticism.

The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) continued preaching the religion of Allah even in old age.The Israelites were indulged in mischief making and wickedness.They had not only ignored the teachings of his Prophet but tortured him also.The Holy Qur'an makes mention of the cruel acts of the Israelites in the following Verses:

"As to those who deny the Signs of Allah and in defiance of right, slay the prophets, and slay those who teach just dealing with mankind, announce to them a grievous penalty." (3:21)

The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) did not die a natural death.One day the Israelites decided to put him to death.He hid himself in the covern of the tree.The Jews began to saw that part of the tree. The Prophet Zakariya (peace be upon him) did not even utter a faint cry.His body was cut into two pieces.

Prophet Yahya as (John).

Yahya as *(John the Baptist) was the son of Prophet Zakariyya (peace be upon him). His birth was a miracle because. He was born of a barren mother and an aged father. In the fagging part of life Prophet Zakariya as (peace be upon him) prayed to Allah to bless him with a son who could prove to be a successful heir and preacher of the religion of Allah. His prayer was promptly granted.
The Holy Quran says:

“0′ Zakariya! Lo! We bring you a glad tidings of a son whose name is Yahya. We have given the same name to none before him.” (Surah 19: Verse 7)

The Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) was dedicated to the noble work ofleading men to the path of salvation. He exhorted his people to have unstinted faith in God. He moved among the humble and despised sofe raiment. He was not arrogant. He spent most of his life in wilderness. He was pure and devout. He was dutiful towards his parents. The Holy Quran says:

“(And it was said unto his son) 0′ John! Hold fast the scripture. And We gave him wisdom when he was a child! And compassion from Our presence and punity, and he was devout. And dutiful towards his parents. And he was not arrogant, rebellious. Peace on him the day he was born and the day he dies and the day he shall be raised alive.” (Surah 19: Verse 12-15 )

The Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) moved to the desert of*Judea. He dressed himself in a robe made of camel hair. He ate simple food and wild honey. His sermons were most impressive and people flocked to hear his trumpet message. The whole of the Jordan valley was*baptized due to his preaching. The Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) was the precursor of Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ). He was his cousin and contemporary as well. His fidelity to his mission as a preacher soon deprived him of his liberty and subsequently his life.

The Roman Ruler Herod Antipas was the ruler of Galilee. He had an adulterous relations with Herodias, the wife of his brother Herod Philip. The Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) reproached him for this grave sin. Herod Antipas got annoyed and imprisoned him till his execution. Once Herod Antipas arranged a grand feast. Herodias allowed her daughter, Salome to dance.

The Ruler was fascinated with the performance of the dancing girl. He declared that he would grant whatever Salome wanted. She immediately made a demand for the head of Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him). Herod was in a fix what to do. He had no alternative to adhere to his words. So Prophet Yahya (peace be upon him) was beheaded at the instigation of the mother of that girl with whom Herod was infatuated. His grave is in*Umayyah Mosque in Syria.

Prophet Ayub as


The Prophet Ayub*(peace be upon him) was one of the descendants of theProphet Ibrahim*(peace be upon him) and a nephew of*Prophet Ya’qub*(peace be upon him). He was sent to reform the people who lived in the desert situated in the north eastern corner of*Palestine. When Ayub (Job) was chosen to be the Prophet, he started to teach the people about God and His religion. He advised the people to do good and shun evil. As usual with all the Prophets very few people believed in him in the beginning but gradually the number of his followers began to increase.

The Prophet Ayub was Well Off

The Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) was a prosperous man with firm faith in Allah. He possessed vast farms, enormous wealth, many cattle and valuable property but these things did not make him arrogant. His wealth provided him with a medium by means of which he sought Allah’s grace.

The Prophet Ayub Displays Patience

The Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) was a pattern of humility and faith in Allah. He was very*patient. He suffered from a number of calamities but did not utter a single word of complaint. One day his big farm was attacked by the thieves. They killed many of his servants and carried away forcibly all his cattle. The Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) did not feel sorry at this loss and thanked Allah.

After some time the roof of the house*fell down and many members of his family were crushed. The Prophet Ayyub (peace be upon him) was much shocked but he held fast to his faith in Allah. He neither shed a tear nor heaved a sigh. He prostrated before the Almighty. He remarked that possessions and children were the gifts from Allah. If He had taken His things, it was useless to lament over their loss.

After a few years Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) suffered from*skin disease. His parts of body were covered with loathsome sores. He had many ugly looking ulcers on his face and hands. The sores were full of worms. It is narrated that he picked up those worms which fell from his abscess and praised Allah for creating them.

Above all, his*false friends*attributed his calamities to his sins. They ridiculed and looked down upon him. All the persons deserted him with the exception of his faithful wife,*Rahima. She also grew tired of him in the long run and prayed for his death. She cursed her husband for retaining integrity in Allah. When Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) was in an extremely pathetic condition he prayed:

“Truly adversity has afflicted me and You are Most Merciful of all who show mercy.” (Surah 21: Verse 83)

Allah accepted his prayer. The Holy Quran affirms:

“Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store and remembrance for the worshippers.” (Surah 21: Verse 84)

The Prophet Ayub Recovers and Prospers

Allah turned to him with mercy. He was commanded to strike the earth with his foot. He complied with the order and*water from the spring*gushed forth. He took a bath with the water and*got cured*from his evil disease. After this he was restored to prosperity. The Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) knelt and prayed expressing a deep sense of gratitude to Allah. He never forgot His favours, mercy and love.

The Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) was one of the celebrated Prophets. His example illustrates: that those who*remain patient under the stress*of all circumstances, are never deprived of high rewards. The Holy Quran affirms:

“And surely we try you with something of fear and hunger, and loss of wealth and crops, but give glad-tidings to the steadfast, who when a misfortune befalls them, say lo! we are Allah’s (possession of Allah) and to Him shall we surely return. · Such are they on whom are blessings from their Lord, and mercy. Such are the rightly-guided.” (Surah 2 : Verse 155-157)

Prophet Isa as(Jesus)

Background

The Israelites had settled in the blessed land, Palestine. They ruled for a long time. They had a vast kingdom. Allah, the Almighty chose many prophets from among them. They followed the Holy Book, the Torah. The Prophet Dawood (PBUH) and his son Prophet Sulaiman as(peace be upon him) won great popularity as kings and commanded high respect. Their followers believed in God and led noble lives. As the time passed by, they began to pay less attention to the teachings of God. Theyforgot the Divine favors. They made alterations in the Holy Book according to their own tastes. Most of the Israelites adopted indecent ways of life and committed major sins.

At that time there existed a powerful kingdom in the world. It was called the kingdom of*Romans. They were polytheists and pagans. They did not worship one God and prayed to many idols made of stones. The Roman society was divided into two factions. The ruling class was very strong and arrogant whereas the ordinary people lived in misery. They were ill-treated as slaves. The female sex enjoyed no privilege in that era. Palestine, the blessed land was ruled by Herod, a cruel king. The people disliked him. They were scared stiff of him. They could not utter a word of complaint against him lest they should be put to sword.

Birth of Prophet Isa (PBUH)

Allah, the Beneficent,showed His favors and wanted to guide the depraved humanity to the right oath. He desired to make the people believe in Allah through miracles.Maryam (Mary) was a beautiful maiden. She was virtuous, abstemious and chaste. She used to pray to Allah (SWT) frequently. She grew up in the house of Prophet Zakariyya (peace be upon him) and learnt a good deal about Allah and His religion.

One night Maryam was engaged in glorifying the Almighty, Allah. Suddenly she saw a handsome looking young man. She got embarrassed and her face turned pale. She felt jittery and had goose pimples on her skin. Soon after she got tranquility of mind. She heard a voice from the invisible world:

“I am an angel of Allah. He has sent me to inform you that you are going to have a baby.”

Maryam was much perplexed. As she was a virgin, it was quite impossible for her to give birth to baby without entering into matrimonial allegiance with an opposite sex.

Once again the Angel remarked: It is the Will of Allah, the Almighty that you should give birth to a fatherless baby. It is easy for Him to do what He pleases. He has His own reasons. I, however, convey you the good news. Soon after the Angel vanished. Maryam became wet with perspiration. She apprehended that her name would be sullied if she gave birth to a baby before marriage.

After some days Maryam became pregnant. Many people began to level false accusations against her. They calumniated her for developing contraband relations with a man. The whole population of the town derided Maryam. She was feeling terribly ashamed on hearing the baseless charges of slanders. She had a firm faith in Allah. She was sure that Allah would help her in washing away a blot on her fair reputation. She prayed to her Lord frequently to save her honor. The people passed taunting remarks about her every now and then.

When she was reduced to straits by the mischievous persons, she decided to leave Nazareth and settle in another town. She went to a locality calledBethlehem, seventy-one miles away from her native town.

She resided near a manger under a palm-tree. Soon after her arrival there,Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ) (PBUH) was born. Maryam washed, cleansed and dressed him. He looked very beautiful and attractive. Some of the people got wind of that incident and visited Maryam who gave birth to a fatherless baby.

They also made fun of her and began to ask questions. As Maryam had beendirected by Allah not to utter a single word for three days from the moment she gave birth to a baby. She complied with the orders and refrained from talking. When the people pressed her hard to reply to their questions, the baby began to utter some words to clarify the position of his pious mother. The listeners were much surprised. They were full of excitement.

Isa (Jesus Christ) claimed to be the Prophet of Allah. He advised the people to follow the right path and do noble acts. When the people got a convincing proof regarding the truthfulness and chastity of Maryam, they were much impressed and amazed.

The birth of Prophet Isa (Peace Be Upon Him) became a talk of the town.Herod, the king, got wind of that miracle. He became worried lest people should obey the directions of the newly born Prophet and neglect his orders. He issued terrible orders to kill all those babies who art under the age of two years. The parents became much upset because they thought that they would be deprived of their affectionate children after the implementation of those orders. Allah guided Maryam to migrate to Egypt to seek protection for her baby. She carried out the orders and reached Egypt after a troublesome journey.

They stayed away from home for twelve years. The Prophet Isa (PBUH) grew up gradually and*Allah gave him a good deal of wisdom and knowledge. In the meantime Herod passed away and the people took a sigh of relief. Maryam felt a great pleasure. She picked up her belongings and proceeded towards the blessed land again. She, along with her baby reached there after a long journey.

Miracles of Prophet Isa

The Prophet Isa (PBUH) was handsome and dignified. When he had attained the age of thirty years, he began to preach the religion of Allah. Most of the people were not convinced and thus he was exposed to ridicules. The Prophet Isa (PBUH) entreated Allah to grant him a miraculous power to impress the people. Allah gave him that power. He showed many miracles which won the hearts of the people. Gradually they became his followers and began to believe in him and his message.

One day Prophet Isa (PBUH) was preaching to a large gathering. He exhorted the people to believe in Allah and follow His religion. Most of them turned a deaf ear to his instructions. The Prophet Isa (PBUH) tried to convince them with a miracle. He took some wet clay in his hand and made the statue of a bird with it.
He blew his breath on the clay. It became a real bird with wings, eyes and legs by Allah’s power. It flew up chirping in the sky. The people looked at the bird but could hardly believe their eyes. They were wonder struck at the sight of this miracle. They were so impressed that they began to take the oath of allegiance to Prophet Isa (peace be upon him).The Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) kept on preaching and many people began to believe in true religion. One day a man came limping towards him. He had suffered from leprosy. He was looking terrible due to lumps on his face. His fingers were crooked and he had lost some toes. The people were scared of him. They detested him but the heart of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) was bleeding for the wretched man. The diseased man said in the weak tone: Cure me, cure me. I am disgusted with my life. The Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) knelt and supplicated for his recovery. He patted at his shoulders. He recovered and his face became clear. All the lumps vanished in the twinkling of an eye.
The crowd was much amazed at the sight of this miracle. Every one was much impressed. The people began to follow the teachings of the Prophet Isa (peace be upon him).One day the Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) was going through the street which was narrow and winding.
He came across a man who was blind and dumb. The Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) decided to show mercy to him because he was kind-hearted. He put his hand on the shoulder of the man. The blind man opened his eyes and*Allah restored his eye sight. Moreover he was endowed with the power of talking. He expressed a deep sense of gratitude for the kindness shown by the Prophet Isa (peace be upon him). This miracle impressed the spectators and they began to follow the teachings of Allah.A man, Lazarus passed away and his sisters, Mary and Martha fell into melancholy and extinction. They were making preparations to perform burial ceremonies. The mourners flocked at the residence of the deceased. Suddenly the Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) appeared on the scene. He knelt down and started to pray to Almighty Allah.

After a short time Lazarus was revived by the grace of Allah. He got up and began to talk. Every one jumped out or joy. They began to acknowledge the supreme power of their Lord. The Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) came to remind the people of the teachings of the other Prophets. He advised the people to believe in Allah and pray to Him only.

He asked them not to indulge in back-biting, oppression, sinfulness and impiety. He directed his followers to do noble deeds. He taught them to be loving and tolerant. He also had his own revelations. The Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) had twelve disciples who assisted him in preaching. They helped him in spreading the religion of Allah during the life of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) and afterwards.

Crucifiction or Cruci_fiction of Prophet Isa (Jesus) (PBUH)?

The preaching work by Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) lasted for three years. A considerable number of people began to follow him. They adopted good ways of life. The Romans and the Jews were much worried because of the prevailing influence of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) and his disciples. They feared lest they should rise in revolt against them. They decided Isa, the Prophet to be crucified.

Allah Almighty loved his Prophet. He wanted to save him. On the other hand the Romans made a heavy big cross of wood to put their plan into practice. There was a large gathering and the soldiers were standing all around where Isa, the Prophet was supposed to be crucified. Even those people who were against the teachings of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) were feeling queasy inside. They did not agree with the idea of crucifying him.Followers of jesus (isa as) didnt fight war alongwith his disciples as was promised in torah.This promise ll be fulfilled in end times.

Allah (SWT) ordered someone who bore resemblance to Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) to take the place of the Prophet on the cross. In fact the man who was analogous to Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) was crucified and isa as s own life was saved in this manner.Prophet isa as was taken to the skies and at an appointed time he ll come back in end times to lead muslims and bring khilafa, as a follower of prophet mohammad saww shariah.

Most of the teachings of Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) are still in the Gospel (Injeel) but many of the things written in the Bible are not in original form. They were changed and some additions as well as subtractions have been made in his teachings.

PROPHET SALIH(PBUH)



Salih was sent as a Prophet to the*Bani Thamud*to rectify their depraved people. The Thamudites were the descendants of Thamud, a grandson of Sam. They lived in*Wadi al-Qura*and*al-Hajr*between*Syria and Hijaz. They worshipped idols and thought them very powerful. They believed that their idols provided them with food and rain, preserved them from all dangers and restored them to health when they were ill.

This tribe flourished more than two centuries after Ad. Its people were*famous*for their longevity and enormous bulk. They built spacious*buildings*in the caves of the mountains and attained considerable*powers.

Slaughtering of She-Camel

The*Prophet Salih (peace he upon him)*was commissioned by Allah to invite the tribe to the worship of One God but they turned a deaf ear to his preaching. Whenever the Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) spoke ill of their deities, they behaved impudently towards him.

At last they hatched a plan to put him to death. Allah fixed a*she-camel as a signand warned them that if they slew her, they would be overtaken by the chastisement from Allah. There is nothing strange in fixing she-camel as a sign. It is an admitted fact that Ka’bah, a constructed House, is one of the*signs of Allah. Whoso tries to destroy it,*perishes himself. Similarly she-camel was one of the signs of God. The Prophet Salih (peace be upon him) demanded that she should be allowed to*graze*in the pastures and*drink*water from the springs. The stubborn people slaughtered the she-camel provided by God while it was grazing in the pastures.

Chastisements Befalls

When they were about to execute their final plan against Prophet Salih (peace be upon him), they were*destroyed by Allah’s*punishment. A*visitation*befell them and they were exterminated by volcanic eruption which showered stones upon them. The calamity which overtook the Bani Thamud was very terrible.

“And to the Thamud We sent their brother Salih. He said: 0′ my people: Serve Allah. You have no god other than Him. Clear proof, indeed, has come to you from your Lord. This is as Allah’s she-camel for you, a sign. Therefore, leave her alone to pasture on God’s earth and do not do her any harm. Otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. And remember when He made you successors after Ad and settled you in the land.
You made mansions on its plains and hew out houses in the mountains; remember, therefore, Allah’s benefits and do not act corruptly in the land making mischief’s. The Chiefs of those who behaved proudly among his people said to those who were considered weak, to those who believed from among them: Are you sure that Salih is sent by his Lord ? They said: Surely, we are believers in what he has been sent with. Those who were haughty said: Surely, we deny of what you believe in. So they slew the she-camel and revolted against their Lord’s Commandments and they said: O’ Salih! Bring us of what you have threatened us with if you are one of the Apostles. Then the earthquake overtook them so they became motionless bodies in their abodes.” (Surah 7: Verses 73-78)

The story of Youth of the Cave - From Surah Kahf (18)


This is a story related in Surah Kahf (18), Al Qur'an.

About 400 years after Prophet Isa (Jesus) (alayhis salam), there was a ruler who was very cruel. His name was Decius the Emperor, and he ruled the vast Roman Empire which stretched from Spain to the Persian Gulf. He was an Idol worshipper, and the people who lived in this empire were forced to believe and in many gods and goddesses, and offer sacrifices to them. There was the god of war, the goddess of love, the sun-god, the god of the oceans, and many others. Some of these gods were symbolized by statues and the people were forced to pay special tribute to them or face the possibility of losing their lives. The people included many good Christians, who had believed in the one true God, Allah and in Isa (alayhis salam) as His messenger. The Emperor did not want the people to follow the religion of Allah as was revealed to Prophet Isa (alayhis salam).

Within the Roman Empire there was a city called Ephesus located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. It was a bustling city with a great seaport where merchants from all over the Empire came to buy and sell their goods. In the heart of this city lived a few youths (about 7) that all believed in the one true God, Allah. They formed a small group and prayed to Allah for guidance in this land of oppression and injustice. They did not want to worship these idols that Decius the Emperor was forcing everyone to worship. Allah heard their prayers and gave strength to their hearts so that they would not be afraid to proclaim their belief to the people of Ephesus.

One day these youths went to the bazaar where many people gathered to do their shopping. The youths stood up on a platform so that all the people in the bazaar could see and hear them.

They said, "Our Lord(Allah) is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We shall never call upon any god other than Him because if we did, it would surely be a lie!"

The crowd suddenly stopped what they were doing and looked up at the youths that had so boldly proclaimed their faith. There were people in the crowd who agreed with the youths but were too afraid to say it. Whenever someone talked about the one true God, Allah, they were tortured and executed. Other people in the crowd shouted at the youths on the platform.

The youths were not afraid and continued, "If our people worship other gods besides Allah, why don't they bring forward an authority clear and convincing for what they do? Who does more harm than the person who invents a lie about Allah?" [18:14-15]

When Emperor Decius heard about the change of their faith by seven youth, he called them and questioned them about their faith. They told him that they worshipped only one Allah and made no partners with Him. The king turned furious, and gave them three days to come back to their old faith. He said that if they did not return to becoming Idol worshippers, then he would kill them.

The youths ran away to a cave high up on a mountainside a few miles away outside of the city. On the way, a dog also followed them. They did their best to scare it away, but it would not leave them. The dog sat at the entrance.

When the youth sought refuge in the cave they prayed,


"Rabbana atina mil-ladunka Rahma, wa hayya lana min amrina rashada"

"Allah! grant us mercy and help us to get out of this trouble in a righteous way" [18:10].

After reaching safety in the cave, the youths were tired from running and decided to sleep there for a few hours.

In order to protect these brave youths, Allah performed a miracle and kept them asleep for more than three hundred years.

One would think them (the youths) awake while, in fact, they were sleeping. We turned their bodies from right to left and their dog stretched its front legs on the ground. [18:18]

When they awoke they thought they were only asleep for a couple hours. One of them said, "How long do you think we have stayed here?"

"A day or part of a day," they replied. "Your Lord knows better how long we have stayed here. Let us send one of us with this money to the city to get some pure food so that we might eat. He should be careful so that no one will know about us." [18:19]

The youths were hungry so one of them went down to the city to buy some food.

Before he left the cave, his friends warned him not to tell the pagans where they were. So the youth went down to the city of Ephesus with some money in his pocket. When he approached the city, he noticed something strange. He didn't recognize any of the people! Also, all of the clothes the people wore were different from his own. The surroundings, the dresses, the language they spoke and the lifestyle, everything had changed. He couldn't believe the city had changed so much in just a few hours.

He went to the bazaar and found a shopkeeper selling food. When the youth brought out his money the shopkeeper looked at it very closely. "Where did you get this from?" he asked, peering out the corner of his eye. Remember that the youths had been asleep for over 300 years!

"I saved it from my earnings, sir," said the youth. "This money has been out of date for 300 years!!," exclaimed the shopkeeper.

The youth was shocked and the people of the bazaar began to gather around him. He now realized that Allah had saved him and his friends from the persecution of the pagans by making them sleep for a long, long time. When he explained his story to the people that had gathered around him, they were overjoyed. The whole city of Ephesus had changed. He informed the youth that he was now living at a time when he will no longer be persecuted. The whole city of Ephesus had changed.

The wicked ruler of the Roman Empire, Decius, had died long ago and now a new tolerant Emperor reigned over the land. The whole city came out of their houses and marched toward the cave where the other youths were.

Meanwhile, some officers of the king Theodosius (who was now the ruler) also arrived. When they were told that the stranger in the bazzar was one among the seven youths who had fled during the reign of Decius to escape death, he and a crowd followed him to the cave.

Allah then caused the youths of the cave to pass away, just as Allah had caused the youth to sleep for 309 years [18:25], and king Theodosius ordered a monument to be built over the cave.

Their story became famous throughout the Roman Empire as one of the true and beautiful miracles of Allah mentioned in the Glorious Qur'an.
