I am going to put some videos series of ancient destroyed civilizations ruins...and how in quran its described that there were nations that were more civilised and powerful yet due to rebellion ...they were destroyed...with ofcourse exception of children of israel...they were given divine punishment only.

    SURAH E MOMIN:

"Hast thou not seen those who wrangle concerning the revelations of Allah, how they are turned away? -﴾69﴿*

Those who deny the Scripture and that wherewith We send Our messengers. But they will come to know,﴾70﴿*When carcans are about their necks and chains. They are dragged﴾71﴿*

Through boiling waters; then they are thrust into the Fire.﴾72﴿

*Then it is said unto them: Where are (all) that ye used to make partners (in the Sovereignty)﴾73﴿*

Beside Allah? They say: They have failed us; but we used not to pray to anything before. Thus doth Allah send astray the disbelievers (in His guidance).﴾74﴿*(And it is said unto them):

This is because ye exulted in the earth without right, and because ye were petulant.﴾75﴿

*Enter ye the gates of hell, to dwell therein. Evil is the habitation of the scornful.﴾76﴿*

Then have patience (O Muhammad). Lo! the promise of Allah is true. And whether we let thee see a part of that which We promise them, or (whether) We cause thee to die, still unto Us they will be brought back.﴾77﴿*

Verily We sent messengers before thee, among them those of whom We have told thee, and some of whom We have not told thee; and it was not given to any messenger that he should bring a portent save by Allah's leave, but when Allah's commandment cometh (the cause) is judged aright, and the followers of vanity will then be lost.﴾78﴿*

Allah it is Who hath appointed for you cattle, that ye may ride on some of them, and eat of some -﴾79﴿

*(Many) benefits ye have from them - and that ye may satisfy by their means a need that is in your breasts, and may be borne upon them as upon the ship.﴾80﴿*

And He showeth you His tokens. Which, then, of the tokens of Allah do ye deny?﴾81﴿*Have they not travelled in the land to see the nature of the consequence for those before them? They were more numerous than these, and mightier in power and (in the) traces (which they left behind them) in the earth. But all that they used to earn availed them not.﴾82﴿*

And when their messengers brought them clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) they exulted in the knowledge they (themselves) possessed. And that which they were wont to mock befell them.﴾83﴿*Then, when they saw Our doom, they said: We believe in Allah only and reject (all) that we used to associate (with Him).﴾84﴿

*But their faith could not avail them when they saw Our doom. This is Allah's law which hath ever taken course for His bondmen. And then the disbelievers will be ruined.﴾85﴿*

Another civilised nation that was once flourished but later was destroyed by floods....a phenomenon quite similar to noah s (nooh as ) time when flood came...

One can also find the broken pots on mountains in syria while in flood used to take help of pots to hang on but by Allah s order storm came and the pots got crushed with other leading to the death of infidels...i ll show noah s flooding story later inshAllah.

STORY OF PROPHET LOT AS AND THE DOOMED CITY OF SODOM: (QOM E LOT ).

In many cities across the world, it is unsafe to walk down the streets, even in daylight.* Murder is rife, identities stolen, and drugs abound.* Nowadays most children in high school have already encountered drug users and sellers.* Alcohol is freely available at corner stores, even though it is responsible for the break up of families, domestic violence and the corrosion of society.* Paedophilia is rampant, as is child pornography and human trafficking.* Degenerate lifestyles are accepted and even thought of as normal.* This description paints a picture of a scary, out of control world, but is it really so different from the time of Prophet Lot?

The people of Lot lived in a society very similar to our own.* It was corrupt, the people had no shame, criminals and criminal activity abounded, and those passing through the town of Sodom risked robbery and physical abuse.* The overall atmosphere of the town was not one of a cohesive society.* The people of Lot were without morals, without standards and without shame.* The homosexuality that abounded did not exist in a vacuum, it was part of a lifestyle that not only allowed, but also encouraged vice and corruption.* It was to this town that God sent Prophet Lot; his message was to worship God alone.* However, embedded in worship are the desire and the willingness to obey God’s commandments?* The people of Sodom were content with their corrupt ways and had no desire to curb them. *Lot became an annoyance and his words were ignored.

Prophet Lot called the people to give up their criminal activities and indecent behaviour but they refused to listen. *Lot confronted his people and admonished them.* He pointed out their corruption, their criminal activities and their unnatural sexual behaviour.

“Will you not fear God and obey Him?* Verily!* I am a trustworthy Messenger to you.* So fear God and obey me.* No reward do I ask of you for it (my Message) my reward is only from the Lord of all that exists.” (Quran 26:161-164)

In the last 20 or 30 years, it has become common to talk of homosexuality as a natural way of life, however according to God’s law and in all three heavenly religions, (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) this is not acceptable.* The new idea that homosexuality is somehow genetically determined is also rejected by Islam.* Quran clearly states that the people of Sodom were the first to practice this sexual aberration.

“Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds [i.e., peoples]? Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women.* Rather, you are a transgressing people."

The people of Sodom had reached such a level of degradation they no longer had any shame.* They would commit their unnatural acts in public or in private.* Satan was amongst them, and as is his way, he made their actions appear fair and wholesome.* When Lot insisted they change their evil ways, they wanted to drive him out of town, as if by calling to purity, he was the one committing a great sin.* The people of Sodom said to Lot,*“If you cease not, O Lot!* Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!” (Quran 26:167)* Lot openly expressed his anger and fury at the evil deeds and unnatural acts and called on God to save him and his family from the evil of the people of Sodom.

In another part of the world, Prophet Abraham, the uncle of Prophet Lot, received three guests.* Known for his generosity, Prophet Abraham roasted a calf but to his dismay, the guests refused to eat.* This was very unusual.* Travellers are usually hungry and the fact that these guests refused his generosity made Prophet Abraham very uneasy.* The guests saw his uneasiness and** tried to put his fears to rest.* They said,*“Do not be afraid!” (Quran 15:53)*His fears allayed, Prophet Abraham asked his guests what business had bought them to his town.* They replied,*“We have been sent to a people who are criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners”. (Quran 15:58)

The people of Sodom had become corrupt, believing their evil ways were acceptable.* Unfortunately, in the 21st*century we have become so accustomed to evil and ignorance we are no longer able to respond in the correct manner.* We make excuses and try to justify evil behaviour but the fact is, when people continuously, and openly disrespect and disobey God we should be outraged. The angels took their leave from Prophet Abraham and made their way to the city of Sodom, in search of Prophet Lot and his family.

        Continue...

PART 2: STORY OF LOT AS AND DOOMED CITY OF SODOM:

Prophet Lot as continued to suffer due to the wicked ways and unnatural behaviour of the people around him, yet he patiently continued to deliver his message. *He called the people to give up their wicked ways and obey the One God, worshipping Him alone.* However, the townspeople continued to mock and belittle Lot, and even taunted him by challenging him to bring God’s torment upon them.

“Bring God’s torment upon us if you are one of the truthful.” (Quran 29:29)

Lot was overwhelmed with despair and beseeched God to grant him victory over these people, who committed great crimes and behaved unnaturally.

At the time of Lot’s invocation, the messengers (angels) were with Prophet Abrahim as so they informed him of their mission to Lot and his people.* They said,

“And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Abrahim as with the good tidings, they said, “Indeed, we will destroy the people of that [i.e., Lot’s] city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers.” (Quran 29:31)

Abrahim as was afraid, his nephew Lot as was in the town of Sodom and it was about to be destroyed.* He said to the angels*“but Lot is there!”**They replied,

“We know better who is there, we will verily save him (Lot) and his family, except his wife, she will be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed).” (Quran 29: 32)

Renowned Islamic scholar,Ibn Katheer narrates that, as the messengers approached the towns of Sodom they met Lot’s daughter at the nearby river.* She was astounded at their beauty and feared for them.* She advised them to wait at the river for Prophet Lot as , rather than enter the town without his protection.* When Lot as heard of the strangers, he felt distressed and wondered how he could convince them to bypass the towns of Sodom and continue on their travels.* He tried to make them understand the nature of the townspeople but only succeeded in convincing the messengers to wait for nightfall before entering the town.

Prophet Lot managed to escort the messengers to the safety of his home; however, Lot’s wife slipped out the back door and quickly told the people that two beautiful men were guests in Lot’s home.* The word quickly spread and soon people were outside Lot’s house, knocking on his door, demanding to see the guests.* Lot became even more distressed when he realised his wife was responsible for the crowd at his door and he pleaded with the mob to disband and to fear the punishment of God.* He repeatedly appealed to them to seek sexual gratification in a lawful way.

“O my people!* Here are my daughters (i.e. the daughters of my nation); they are purer for you (if you marry them lawfully).* So fear God and degrade me not as regards my guests!* Is there not among you a single right-minded man?” (Quran 11:78)

The story of Lot, in both the Bible and the Quran hold remarkable similarities.* However, Islam completely rejects the notion that Prophet Lot would offer his own daughters to the town’s people.* The scholars of Islam explain that when Lot used the word “daughters” he meant the women of Sodom.* He was demanding that the men of Sodom seek sexual fulfilment in lawful marriages.

In his book*Stories of the Prophets, Ibn Katheer states that the town’s people broke down the door and rushed inside Lot’s house, surrounding the messengers.* Lot was powerless before them yet he continued to plead and remind them of the evil of their ways.* The town’s people jeered and mocked him saying,*“Surely you know that we have neither any desire nor in need of your daughters, and indeed you know well what we want!” (Quran 11:79). *The messengers reassured Lot by saying*“surely we are messengers from your Lord.” (Quran 11:81) *On hearing these words the towns people were afraid and started to disperse, leaving Lot and his family alone with the messengers (angels).

The messengers allayed the fears of Prophet Lot and instructed him to gather his family and leave the town of Sodom that night.* Lot walked at the rear of his family to assure no one looked back on the towns of Sodom. *Lot’s wife remained behind and was afflicted by the punishment along with the wrong doers and wicked townspeople.* The Quran describes the punishment as an awful cry that turned the town upside down and rained stones of baked clay.*(Quran 15:73-74)

The punishment came at sunrise, and God said,

“So We saved him and his family, all,*except an old woman (his wife) among those who remained behind.* Then afterward We destroyed the others.* And We rained on them a rain (of torment).* And how evil was the rain of those who had been warned.* Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.” (Quran 26:170-174)

Thus, the pages were closed on the people of Lot.* Their names were erased from historical memory.* The punishment that God promised, and Prophet Lot warned about, happened, for surely God keeps His promises.* He promises severe punishment for the wrongdoers and Paradise is the reward of the righteous.* Lot and his family walked into the sunrise and Quran mentions them no more.

The story of Shoab alayh salam:

Allah the Almighty revealed the story of Shu'aib (pbuh):*

"To the people of Madyan (Madian) (We sent) their brother Shu'aib.
He said: "O my people! Worship Allah, you have no other Ilah (God) but Him. Verily! a clear proof (sign) from your Lord has come unto you; so give full measure and full weight and wrong not men in their things, and do not mischief on the earth after it has been set in order that will be better for you, if you are believers. And sit not on every road, threatening, and hindering from the Path of Allah those who believe in Him, and seeking to make it crooked. Remember when you were but few, and He multiplied you. See what was the end of the Mufsideen (mischief makers, corrupts and liars). And if there is a party of you who believes in that which I have been sent and a party who do not believe, so be patient until Allah judges between us, and He is the Best of judges."

The chiefs of those who were arrogant among his people said: "We shall certainly drive you out, O Shu'aib! and those who have believed with you from our town, or else you all shall return to our religion."

He said: "Even though we hate it! We should have invented a lie against Allah if we returned to your religion, after Allah has rescued us from it. It is not for us to return to it unless Allah, our Lord, should will. Our Lord comprehends all things in His Knowledge. In Allah (Alone) we put our trust. Our Lord! Judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of those Who gives judgment."

The chiefs of those who disbelieved among his people said to their people: "If you follow Shu'aib be sure then you will be the losers!"

Then he (shu'aib) turned from them and said: "O my people! I have indeed conveyed my Lord's Messages unto you and I have given you good advice. Then how can I sorrow for the disbelieving people's (destruction)."*(Ch 7:85-93 Quran)

The people of Madyan were Arabs who lived in the country of Ma'an, part of which today is greater Syria. They were a greedy people who did not believe that Allah existed and who led wicked lives. They gave short measure, praised their goods beyond their worth, and hid their defects. They lied to their customers, thereby cheating them.

Allah sent His Prophet Shu'aib (pbuh) armed with many miracles. Shu'aib preached to them, begging them to be mindful of Allah's favors and warning them of the consequences of their evil ways, but they only mocked him. Shu'aib remained calm as he reminded them of his kinship to them and that what he was doing was not for his personal gain.

They seized the belongings of Shu'aib and his followers, then drove them out of the city. The Messenger turned to his Lord for help, and his plea was answered. Allah sent down on them scorching heat and they suffered terribly. On seeing a cloud gathering in the sky, they thought it would bring cool, refreshing rain, and rushed outside in the hope of enjoying the rainfall. Instead the cloud burst, hurling thunderbolts and fire. They heard a thunderous sound from above which caused the earth under their feet to tremble. The evil doers perished in this state of horror.

Allah the Exalted stated:*"The dwellers of Al Aiyka (near Midian, or Madyan) belied the Messengers. When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. SO fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. No reward do I ask of you for it (my message of Islamic Monotheism), my reward is only from the Lord of the Alamin (mankind, jinn and all that exists). Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. And weigh with the true and straight balance. Defraud not people by reducing their things nor do evil making corruption and mischief in the land. Fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old."

They said: "You are only one of those bewitched! You are but a human being like us and verily, we think that you are one of the liars! So cause a piece of heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!"

He said: "My Lord is the Best Knower of what you do."

"But, they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. Verily, in this is a sign yet most of them are not believers. And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All Mighty, the Most Merciful."*(Ch 26:176-191 Quran).

The story of Hud alayh salam:

The people of 'Ad lived many years in the windswept hills of an area between Yemen and Oman. They were physically well built and renowned for their craftsmanship especially in the construction of tall buildings with lofty towers. They were outstanding among all the nations in power and wealth, which, unfortunately, made them arrogant and boastful. Their political power was held in the hand of unjust rulers, against whom no one dared to raise a voice.

They were not ignorant of the existence of Allah, nor did they refuse to worship Him. What they did refuse was to worship Allah alone. They worshipped other gods, also, including idols. This is one sin Allah does not forgive.

Allah wanted to guide and discipline these people so He sent a prophet from among them. This prophet was Hud'alayhis-salam, a noble man who handled this task with great resoluteness and tolerance.

Ibn Jarir ra reported that he was Hud ibn Shalikh ibn Arfakhshand ibn Sam ibn Noah*'alayhis-salam. He also reported that Prophet Hud*'alayhis-salam*was from a tribe called 'Ad ibn 'Us ibn Sam ibn Noah, who were Arabs living in al-Ahqaf in Yemen between Oman and Hadramawt, on a land called Ashar stretching out into the sea. The name of their valley was Mughith.

Some traditions claimed that Hud*'alayhis-salam*was the first person who spoke Arabic while others claimed that Noah*'alayhis-salam*was the first. It was also said that 'Adam was the first.

Hud*'alayhis-salam*condemned idol worship and admonished his people, "My people, what is the benefit of these stones that you carve with your own hands and worship? In reality it is an insult to the intellect. There is only One Deity worthy of worship and that is Allah. Worship of Him and Him alone, is compulsory on you.

"He created you, He provides for you and He is the One Who will cause you to die. He gave you wonderful physiques and blessed you in many ways. So believe in Him and do not be blind to His favors, or the same fate that destroyed Noah's people will overtake you."

With such reasoning Hud hoped to instill faith in them, but they refused to accept his message. His people asked him: "Do you desire to be our master with your call? What payment do you want?"

Hud tried to make them understand that he would receive his payment (reward) from Allah; he did not demand anything from them except that they let the light of truth touch their minds and hearts.

              Allah*the Almighty*states:

"And to 'Ad people We sent their brother Hud. He said, 'O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other*ilah*(god) but Him; Certainly, you do nothing but invent (lies)! O my people I ask of you no reward for it (the Message). My reward is only from Him Who created me. Will you not then understand? And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength, so do not turn away as*mujrimin(criminals, disbeliveers in the Oneness of Allah).'

They said, 'O Hud! No evidence have you brought us and we shall not leave our gods for your mere saying! We are not believers in you. All that we say is that some of our gods (false deities) have seized you with evil (madness).'

He said, 'I call Allah to witness and bear you witness that I am free from that which you ascribe as partners in worship, and with Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving (living) creature but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth). So if you turn away, still I have conveyed the Message with which I was sent to you. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not harm Him in the least.*Surely, my Lord is Guardian over all things.' "*[Al-Qur'an11:50-57]

Hud tried to speak to them and to explain about Allah's blessings: how Allah the Almighty had made them Noah's successors, how He had given them strength and power, and how He sent them rain to revive the soil.

Hud's people looked about them and found they were the strongest on earth, so they become prouder and more obstinate. Thus they argued a lot with Hud. They asked "O Hud! Do you say that later we die and turn into dust, we will be resurrected?" He replied, "Yes, you will come back on the Day of Judgment and each of you will be asked about what you did."

A peal of laughter was heard after the last statement. "How strange Hud's claims are!" The disbeliveers muttered among themselves. They believed that when man dies his body decays and turns into dust, which is swept away by the wind. How could that return to its original state? Then what is the significance of the Day of Judgment? Why does the dead return to life?

All these questions were patiently received by Hud. He then addressed his people concerning the Day of Judgment. he explained that belief in the Day of Judgment is essential to Allah's justice, teaching them the same thing that every prophet taught about it.

Hud explained that justice demands that there be a Day of Judgment because good is not always victorious in life. Sometimes evil overpowers good. Will such crimes go unpunished? If we suppose there is no Day of Judgment, then a great injustice will have prevailed, but Allah has forbidden injustice to be incurred by Himself or His subjects. Therefore, the existence of the Day of Judgment, a day of accounting for our deeds and being rewarded or punished for them, reveals the extend of Allah's justice. Hud spoke to them about all of these things. They listened but disbelieved him.

Allah recounts his people's attitude towards the Day of Judgment:

"The chiefs of his people, whom disbelieved and denied the meeting in the Hereafter, and to who We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said, 'He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. If you were to obey a human being like yourselves then verily! You indeed would be losers. Does he promise you that when you have died and have become dust and bones, you shall come out alive (resurrected)? Far, very far, is that which you are promised. There is nothing but our life of this world! We die and we live! We are not going to be resurrected! He is only a man who has invented a lie against Allah, but we are not going to believe in him.' "*[Al-Qur'an*23:33-38]

The chiefs of Hud's people asked: "Is it not strange that Allah's chooses one of us to reveal His message to?"

Hud replied: "What is strange in that? Allah wants to guide you to the right way of life, so He sent me to warn you. Noah's flood and his story are not far away from you, so do not forget what happened. All the disbelivers were destroyed, no matter how strong they were."

"Who is going to destroy us Hud?" the chiefs asked.

              "Allah." replied Hud.

The disbelivers among his people answered: "We will be saved by our gods."

Hud clarified to them that the gods they worshipped would be the reason for their destruction, that it is Allah alone Who saves people, and that no other power on earth can benefit or harm anyone.

The conflict between Hud and his people continued. The years passed, and they became prouder and more obstinate, and more tyrannical and more defiant of their Prophet's message.

Furthermore, they started to accuse Hud*'alayhis-salam*of being a crazy lunatic. One day they told him: "We now understand the secret of your madness you insulted our gods and they harmed you; that is why you have become insane."

Almighty*Allah repeated their words in the Qur'an:

"O my Hud! No evidence have you brought us, and we shall not leave our gods for your mere saying! And we are not believers in you. All that we say is that some of our gods (false deities) have seized you with evil (madness)."*[Al-Qur'an*11:53-54]

Hud had to return their challenge. He had no other way but to turn to Allah alone, no other alternative but to give them a threatening ultimatum. he declared to them:

"'I call Allah to witness and bear you witness that I am free from that which you ascribe as pin worship with Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you and give me no respite. I put my trust in Allah, my Lord your Lord! There is not a moving (living) creature but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth). So if you turn away, still I have conveyed the message with which it was sent to you. My Lord will make another people succeed you, and you will not harm Him.' "*[Al-Qur'an*11:54-57]

Thus Hud renounced them and their gods and affirmed his dependence on Allah Who had created him. Hud realized that punishment would be incurred on the disbeliveers among his people. It is one of the laws of life. Allah punishes the disbeliveers, no matter how rich, tyrannical or great they are.

Hud and his people waited for Allah's promise. A drought spread throughout the land, for the sky no longer sent its rain. the sun scorched the desert sands, looking like a disk of fire which settled on people's heads.

Hud's people hastened to him asking: "What is that drought Hud?"

Hud answered: "Allah is angry with you. If you believe in Him, He will accept you and the rain will fall and you will become stronger than you are."

They mocked him and became more obstinate, sarcastic and preserve in their unbelief. The drought increased, the trees turned yellow, and plants died.

A day came when they found the sky full of clouds. Hud's people were glad as they came out of their tents crying: "A cloud, which will give us rain!"

The weather changed suddenly from burning dry and hot to stinging cold with wind that shook everything; trees, plants, tents, men and women. The wind increased day after day and night after night.

Hud's people started to flee. They ran to their tents to hide but the gale became stronger, ripping their tents from their stakes. They hid under cloth covers but the gale became stronger and still and tore away the covers. It slashed clothing and skin. It penetrated the apertures of the body and destroyed it. It hardly touched anything before it was destroyed or killed, its core sucked out to decompose and rot. The storm raged for 8 days and 7 nights.

              Almighty*Allah recounts:

"Then when they saw it as a dense cloud coming towards their valleys, they said, 'This is a cloud bringing us rain!' Nay but it is that torment which you were asking to be hastened! a wind wherein is a painful torment! Destroying everything by the command of its Lord!"*[Al-Qur'an*46:24-25]

              Allah*the Exalted*described it thus:

"And as for 'Ad, they were destroyed for a firious violent wind which Allah imposed on them for 7 nights and 8 days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed) as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees!"*[Al-Qur'an*69:6-7]

That violent gale did not stop until the entire region was reduced to ruins and its wicked people destroyed, swallowed by the sands of the desert. Only Hud and his followers remained unharmed. They migrated to Hadramawt and lived there in peace, worshipping Allah, their true Lord.

sigpic"When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" (2.11)

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

THE LIFE OF THE PROPHET IDREES (A.S.):

Babylon is a city of ancient Mesopotamia, the remains of which can be found in present-day Al Hillah, Babil Province, Iraq, about 85 kilometers (55 mi) south of Baghdad.
All that remains today of the ancient famed city of Babylon is a mound, or tell, of broken mud-brick buildings and debris in the fertile Mesopotamian plain between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, in Iraq. Historical resources inform us that Babylon was in the beginning a small town that had sprung up by the beginning of the third millennium BC (the dawn of the dynasties). The town flourished and attained prominence and political repute with the rise of the first Babylonian dynasty. It was the "holy city" of Babylonia by approximately 2300 BC, and the seat of the Neo-Babylonian Empire from 612 BC. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Allah has praised Idris as, describing him as being a prophet and truthful: Mention in the Holy Book (Quran) Idris (Enoch).
"Verily! He was a man of truth (and) a prophet. We raised him to a high station. "(19:56-57 Quran).
Idris as was born and raised in Babylon following the teachings and religion of Prophet Adam (pbuh) and his son Seth (pbuh). Idris was the 5th generation of the Prophet Adam. He called the people back to his forefathers religion, but only a few listened to him, while the majority turned away.*

Prophet Idris and his followers left Babylon for Egypt. There he carried on his mission, calling people to what is just and fair, teaching them certain prayers and instructing them to fast on certain days and to give a portion of their wealth to the poor.

He was the first of the Children of Adam to be given prophethood after Adam and Seth (peace upon them). It is reported that he was the 1st to invent the basic form of writing. Some of his wise sayings are:*
1.Happy is he who looks at his own deeds and appoints them as pleaders to his Lord
2.None can show better gratitude for Allah's favors than he who shares them with others.
3.Do not envy people for what they have as they will only enjoy it for a short while. He who indulges in excess will not benefit from it.
4.The real joy of life is to have wisdom.

                DHUL KIFL*:

Allah the Almighty declared :*"Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl, all were from among those who observe patience. "(21:85-86 Quran).
Allah directed:*"Remember Our slaves, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (all) owners of strength (in worshipping Us) and also of religious understanding. Verily, We did choose them by granting them (a good thing ) the remembrance of the home (in the Hereafter and they used to make the people remember it and also they used to invite the people to obey Allah and to do good deeds for the Hereafter). And they are in Our Sight, verily of the chosen and the best! Remember Ishmael, Elisha, and Dhul Kifl all are among the best. "(38:45-48 Quran).

Ibn Jarir narrated that he was not a prophet but he was a righteous man. He supported his people to suffice their needs and administrated justice among them. That is why he was called Dhul Kifl. (means possessor of, or giving, a double requital or portion).

                Dwellers of Ar-Rass:

Allah Almighty revealed:"*Noah's people, when they denied the Messengers We drowned them, and We made them as a sign for mankind. We have prepared a painful torment for the Zalimeen (polytheists and wrongdoers). Also Ad and Thamud and the dwellers of Ar Rass and many generations in between. For each of them We put forward examples (as proofs and lessons etc), and each of them We brought to utter ruin (because of their disbelief and evil deeds). "(25:37-39 Quran)

Allah the Exalted revealed:*"Denied before them (these pagans of Mecca who denied you, O Muhammad) the people of Noah and the dwellers of Ar Rass, and Thamud and Ad and Pharaoh, and the brethren of Lot, and the dewellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba, everyone of them denied their Messengers so My Threat took effect. "(50:12-14 Quran).

These verses indicate that the dwellers of Ar Rass were destroyed as they were the other people who refused to believe in the prophets of Allah.
Ibn jarir stated that the dwellers of Ar Rass were the people of one of Thamud's villages. Allah sent a prophet to them called Huzlah Ibn Safwan. They denied and killed him, so Allah destroyed them.
Abu Bakr Muhammad Ibn Al Hassan narrated: "The dwellers of AR Rass had a well sufficing them and their land. They also had a just and good-hearted king. When he died, they were much grieved for him. After four days Satan took his form and said: "I was not deed, but I kept absent from you to see your reaction." They were very joyful. He commanded them to set up a curtain between him and them and told them that he would never die. A great number of them believed him and were fascinated with and worshiped him. Then Allah sent them a prophet telling them that it was only Satan who was addressing them from behind the curtain. He forbade them to worship him and commanded them to worship only Allah and no partner with Him. In spite of that, they killed their prophet and threw his body into a well. Therefore Allah destroyed them and their homes."

                Yasin People:

All that we know about these people is what Allah Almighty has told us in the Glorious Quran:*"Put forward to them a similitude the (story of ) the dwellers of the town, (it is said that the town was Antioch, Antakiya), when there came Messengers to them. When We sent them two Messengers, they belied them both, so We reinforced them with a third and they said: "Verily! We have been sent to you as Messengers." They (people of the town) said: "You are only human beings like ourselves and the Most Beneficent (Allah) has revealed nothing, you are only telling lies." The Messengers said: "Our Lord knows that we have been sent as Messengers to you, our duty is only to convey plainly (the Message)." The people said: "For us we see an evil omen from you, if you cease not we will surely stone you and a painful torment will touch you from us." The Messengers said: "Your evil omens be with you! (Do you call it "evil omen") because you are admonished? Nay but you are a people Musrifun (transgressing all bounds by committing all kinds of great sins, and by disobeying Allah)." And there came running from the farthest part of the town, a man saying: "O my people! Obey the Messengers obey those who ask no wagers of you (for themselves) and who are rightly guided. Why should I not worship Him (Allah Alone) Who has created me and to Whom you shall be returned. Shall I take besides Him aliah (gods) if the Most Beneficent (Allah) intends me any harm, their intercession will be of no use whatsoever, nor can they save me? Then verily, I should be in plain error. Verily! I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me!" It was said (to him when the disbelievers killed him): "Enter Paradise."
He said: "Would that my people knew! That my Lord (Allah) has forgive me, and made me of the honored ones!"
We sent not against his people after him a host from heaven nor do We send (such a thing). IT was but one shout and lo! They (all) were silent (dead destroyed). Alas for mankind! There never came a Messenger to them but they used to mock at him. Do they not see how many of the generations We have destroyed before them? Verily, they will not return to them." (36:13-31 Quran)

sigpic"When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" (2.11)

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

Also Idrees Alaihis salaam too was raised to the heavens and given the knowledge of the unseen. Both Christians and muslims agree upon this. The Quranic ayah which refers to this is fact is,

"Verily! He was a man of truth (and) a prophet. We raised him to a high station."
                  (Surah 19:56-57l

                  An interesting story:

Then he asked the angels to show him the fire of hell as every person would pass over it (see it) so he was shown the hell. Then he asked to be taken to heaven (jannah) so the angels took him to Jannah. Once he was in Jannah he said that after a person enters Jannah he will not be taken out again so he wished to stay there and Allah allowed this. Thus the writer said the Prophet Idrees Alaihis salaam is actually alive in the heavens and indeed the Prophet Sallallahu alaihi wasalam met* him on the* 4th Heaven on the Night of Meraj (asencion)
when he was raised to the heavens he asked the Angel of death to give him a taste of death i.e to take his soul out and put it back so he would know what it would feel like as “Every soul shall taste of death”. So the Angel of death took his soul and then put it back for him.

sigpic"When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" (2.11)

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

Story of Prophet Ibrahim as (Khalilullah):

                    The idol sculptor:

Once upon a time, long, long ago, , there lived a well-known man, a public figure, called Azar, who earned his living by sculpting idols. In Azar’s village was a huge temple, teeming with the stone structures. The villagers, like Azar, adored the idols, prostrating to the them and worshipping them.*

                    Azar’s son:

Azar had a son, a good lad who he name Ibrahim (Prophet ibrahim as).Ibrahim as used to see everyone, including his father, prostrating to and worshipping the idols. Ibrahim as knew that the idols were nothing more that deaf and dumb rocks. He knew that the idols were impotent, and could do nothing to hurt him and couldn’t help him in any way. He saw how powerless the idols were, unable to stop flies sitting on their offerings and unable to stop mice sneaking off with their food. Naturally, it made Ibrahim feeling sorry to see his fellow villagers prostrating themselves before these sculpted rocks and begging them for all and sundry.*

Ibrahim’s as advice to his villagers:

Ibrahim would repeatedly tell his father: “Father, why do you go about prostrating to this idols, worshipping them and begging them for your needs? These idols are dumb, deaf, harmless and powerless. I find it astonishing that you offer them food and liquids, especially when they can’t eat and drink.”

Ibrahim’s as comments would leave Azar fuming, but Azar stubbornly refused to change. His fellow villagers were the same. Eventually, Ibrahim as vowed to smash up the idols when no one was around, in an effort to force a change.*

Ibrahim as smashes up the idols:

When a day for festivities arrived, and everyone was delighted, Ibrahim as saw his chance. Both young and old set off to celebrate, and as Ibrahim’s father left, he asked his son, “Aren’t you coming with us?”
“I’m not feeling well,” Ibrahim as remarked.*
And so, everyone went off to party, except Ibrahim as,who stayed by himself in the village.*

Ibrahim as went to the temple and approached the idols. “Speak to me!” he cried. “Listen to me! Look, here’s some food and drink. Won’t you have a bite or take a sip?” Unsurprisingly, the idols remained dead quiet, because they were nothing but dumb stones. Ibrahim asked them, “What’s wrong? Lost your tongue?” Again, there was a stony silence in the room, as the idols remained stumped.
He grabbed an axe, and began swinging it about wildly, breaking every single idol in the building except one – he spared one – the biggest of them all. He hung the axe around the neck of the chief idol.*

                    Who done it?

Everyone returned from the party and went straight to the temple, to prostrate to the idols. It was a day for festivities, after all. But instead of prostrating, they were left shocked and stumped, lamenting and angry.

“Who did this to our gods?” they demanded.
Some people said, “There’s a boy, Ibrahim, who’s been speaking out against them.”
Ibrahim as was brought in front of the leaders, and asked, “Did you do this to our gods, Ibrahim?”
“Of course not,” replied Ibrahim as.“It was him, the big one, this one here. Ask these little ones. If they can talk, they’ll tell you.”
The villagers knew full well that the idols were just blocks of deaf and dumb stones, and they knew that the chief idol was no different. It couldn’t move, never mind walk, and could not have smashed the other idols. So the villagers turned to Ibrahim and told him, “You know that idols can’t speak.”
“Then why do you worship them?” retorted Ibrahim. “It’s not like they can hurt you or harm you, is it? And you ask them for your needs! They can’t even talk to you or hear you! Don’t you get it? Use your brains!*

There was silence all around. Everyone hung their heads in shame.*

                    The fire that didn’t burn:

The villagers held a meeting. “What shall we do?” They asked. “Ibrahim has obviously smashed up our gods, and humiliated them. How should we punish him? What are the consequences of his actions?”*

The leaders unanimously agreed: “Burn him! Support your gods!” And so it came to pass, for they kindled a monstrous fire and flung Ibrahim into it. But Allah had other plans fir him.He helped Ibrahim as by commanding the fire: “Fire! Be nice and cool for Ibrahim.” And so it came to pass, for the fire became nice and cool for Ibrahim and, and everyone witnessed the fire unable to harm Ibrahim. They saw Ibrahim as emerged smiling, safe and sound. Naturally, everyone was very shocked and extremely confused.*

                    Who is my Lord?*

One night, ibrahim as looked up at the stars. “Are these my Lord?” he asked himself. But when the stars dimmed, Ibrahim as reflected, “No! These are not my Lord.”*

Then he looked up at the moon: “Is this my lord?” he thought. But when the moon disappeared out of sight, he thought to himself, “No! This is not my Lord.”

Then the sun peeked out its head. “This is my lord!” Cried Ibrahim as, “It’s the biggest.” But when the sun disappeared at night, Ibrahim as decided, “No, this is not my Lord."

“God is living, he doesn’t die. He is ever-present, He doesn’t disappear. He is the most powerful, nothing can put him out.”

“The stars are weak, the dawn dims them. The moon is feeble, the Sun outshines it. The Sun is weak, it vanishes at night, and becomes concealed behind clouds. The stars, the sun and the moon are powerless to help me. Only God can help me, because God is living, He doesn’t die. He is ever-present, He doesn’t disappear. He is the most powerful, nothing can put him out.”

                    My Lord is Allah:

Ibrahim as realised that Allah was his lord, because Allah is living, ever-present and Powerful. He realised that Allah was Lord of the stars, sun and moon. In fact, he realised that Allah was Lord of everything. Allah guided Ibrahim as by blessing him with prophethood and making him his favoured one. Ibrahim as was told to call his people to Allah, and to stop them from worshipping idols.*

                    Ibrahim’s call:

Ibrahim as called his people to Allah, and worked best to prevent them from worshipping idols. “What are you worshipping?” he asked.
                    “We’re worshipping idols!” they replied.
Ibrahim as asked, “Do they hear your prayers? Can they hurt or help you?”
“No,” they replied, “but we know that our ancestors used to do this.”
Ibrahim as told them: “I refuse to worship these idols, and these idols are my enemy. I worship the Lord of Everything, who created me and guided me, who feeds me and gives me drink, who cures me when I’m ill, and who will one day take away my life, then revive me once again.” These idols create nothing, give no guidance, can’t provide food and drink, are unable to cure a sick person, and can neither take life or give it.*

                    The confrontation with the King:

Ibrahim’s as area was ruled by a powerful, tyrant king,Nimrood... who made everyone prostrate to him. When he learned that Ibrahim as prostrated to Allah, and no one else, he was angry and sought out Ibrahim as. Ibrahim as came, undaunted, fearing no one. Only Allah.*

“Who’s your God?” the king demanded to know.*
                    “Allah,” replied Ibrahim.*
                    “Who’s Allah?”
“Allah gives life and takes it.”*
“I give and take life too,” quipped the king. He then called out for a man and killed him, then called out for another and let him live. “See,” said the king, “I control life and death too. I just killed a man and let another live.”

The king, like all polytheists, was incredibly foolish. Ibrahim as decided to teach both the king and his men a lesson, so he said, “Allah makes the sun come out from the East. You make it come out from the West.” The king was stumped into silence. Ibrahim as made him look a fool, as he struggled and failed to come up with a response.*

                    The call to his father:

Ibrahim as wanted to call his father to Allah as well, so he told him, “My dear father! Why do you worship something so deaf and blind, that can’t hurt or help you? My dear father! Please don’t worship Satan. My dear father! Worship the Merciful One.”
Ibrahim’s as father began boiling with rage. “I will beat you,” he shouted, “So go away. Leave me. Don’t talk to me.”*
Ibrahim as composed himself, and told his father, “Goodbye! May you find peace. I am leaving here, and will be turning to my Lord.” Distraught at his father’s reaction, Ibrahim as decided it was best to go to another city, to worship his Lord, and to call others to the worship of Allah.*

                    The journey to Makkah:

Everyone including villagers, his father and the king was making it difficult to prophet Ibrahim as. So Ibrahim decided to migrate to another city where he could both worship and call people to Allah. After bidding goodbye to his father, Ibrahim as left and headed towards egypt land od canaan. He took his wife Sara with him.*Its there that the incident of pharoah meeting him took place who handed him his daughter haajira...as a second wife. And then went to makkah by Allah s orders.

Makkah was an arid land, with no trees, wells or streams in sight. No animals roamed around in the area, nor did any people live there. It was here that Ibrahim as stopped his journey. Leaving behind his wife, Haajira, and his son, Ismail as, Ibrahim as turned to leave.
His wife quickly called out, “Sire, where are you going? Are you going to leave us here, in this barren land, where no plants grow and no water runs…? Has Allah ordered you to do this?”
Ibrahim as replied with a simple, “Yes.”
“In that case,” Haajira remarked, “he won’t let us die.”

                    The Zamzam Well:

Soon, Baby Ismail as became thirsty. His mother wanted to give him water to drink, but where was she going to find water? Mecca had no wells and no streams at all. Haajira panicked and began searching for water. She walked up and down the Mounts Safa and Marwa in search of water.*

Then Allah decided to help Haajira and Ismail as by creating water for them. Water spouted out of the ground and both Haajar and Ismail drank to their fill. The water was later turned into a well and became known as the Zamzam well. Allah blessed the Zamzam well, and it is this well that people drink from when they go for Hajj. They even bring Zamzam water back to their own countries.

                    Ibrahim’s dream:

Some time later, Ibrahim as returned to Makkah, where he met up with Ismail as and Haajira. Ibrahimas was delighted with his son, who was now an infant; Ismail was now walking and playing, and went everywhere with his father, who loved him dearly.*

One night, Ibrahim dreamt he was sacrificing Ismail for God. Since Ibrahim as was a prophet, his dreams were a revelation, a message from Allah. Therefore, Ibrahim as, being the favoured one, understood he must do what the dream was telling him.*

Ibrahim as discussed the dream with his son: “I’ve had a dream in which I saw myself sacrificing you. Tell me, what do you think about it?”
“Father,” replied Ismail as, “Do what you have been commanded. With God’s help, you will see that I remain calm.”*

Ibrahim as then left with his son, carrying a large knife. He decided to sacrifice his son at Mina. Laying Ismail on the ground, he prepared to sacrifice Ismail as. He pressed the knife against Ismail’s neck, but then the angel Jibreel as appeared with a ram from Heaven, and told Ibrahim as to sacrifice the ram instead. Ibrahim as realised that it had all been a test from Allah, and he had passed the test! All Allah had wanted to do was to put Ibrahim as through a test and see if he loved Allah more, or his son.*

Allah was so pleased with Ibrahim’s as attempted sacrifice that he decided to immortalise the event. He therefore ordered us Muslims to sacrifice an animal on Eid al Adha.

                    The Kaaba:

Ibrahim as left, only to return some years later, with the aim of making a building that he could dedicate to the worship of Allah. A number of houses had rapidly been built in Makkah, but there was no masjid to worship Allah. Ibrahim as decided to rebuild makkah by Allah s order that was the original house if Allah at the time of adam as ,with the help of his son. The two transferred large rocks from the surrounding mountains to the building site, then began building with their own hands. As they worked, they praised Allah and prayed to him, saying, “Our lord! Accept our work. You hear everything and know everything.”

Allah accepted this deed of theirs, blessing the Kaaba so that nowadays, we turn towards the Kaaba when we pray, we travel to the Kaaba during the days of Hajj, and we circle around and perform our prayers close to it. In short, Allah blessed the Kaaba, and accepted their efforts.*

                    Jerusalem:

Ibrahim as and Sarah were blessed by a son too, called Ishaaq as.Ibrahim as and Ishaaq as settled in Ancient Syria (modern day Palestine and israel), and here, Ishaaq,*
like his father and half-brother, made a building that he dedicated to the worship of Allah. This building is called the Baytul-maqdis, and is the same as the Masjidul Aqsa mentioned in the Quran. Allah has blessed both Masjidul Aqsa and its surrounding area in jeruselum.

Allah also blessed Ishaaq’s as children, just like He blessed Ismail’s as children. Durood e ibrahimi that we use today...has blessings upon both the children of ibrahim as.
Prophets and kings were born into Ishaaq’s as family, and one of Ishaaq’sas sons was Yaqoob as, a prophet, who fathered twelve children from which 12 tribes rose and were called as children of israel.

One of Ishaaq’s as children was Yusuf as.
                    Continues....
sigpic"When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" (2.11)

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

"Or say you that Ibrahim (Abraham), Ismail (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Yaqoob (Jacob) and Al-Asbat (the twelve sons of Yaqoob (Jacob)) were Jews or Christians? Say, "Do you know better or does Allah (knows better that they all were Muslims)? And who is more unjust than he who conceals the testimony (i.e. to believe in Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him when he comes, written in their Books. (See Verse 7:157)) he has from Allah? And Allah is not unaware of what you do."*(Quran 2:140)

                        Prophet Ishaaque /Isaac as

                        Birth of Prophet Ishaq (pbuh):

The Prophet Ibrahim as had two sons - Prophet Ismail and Prophet Ishaq (peace be upon them). The Prophet Ishaq (pbuh) was his second son born of Sarah, his wife. When the Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) passed through an ordeal of sacrificing his affectionate son, Prophet Ismail, the glad tidings of the birth of another son, Prophet Ishaq, was conveyed to him. The Holy Qur'an says:

"And We gave him the good news of Isaac-a prophet,- one of the righteous." (Qur'an 37:112)

The Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) had attained the age of one hundred years and Sarah was ninety. They had practically lost all hope of having an issue at this advanced age. When the angel came to Prophet Ibrahim (pbuh) with the happy news of the birth of a wise son, his wife laughed and did not believe it. She remarked that she had passed the age and now it was simply a folly to expect a child. The Qur'an tells us how this news was imparted to Prophet Ibrahim and his wife:

"And his wife was standing (there), and she laughed: But when We gave her glad tidings of Ishaq (Isaac), and after him Yaqub (Jacob). She said: "Alas for me! Shall I bear a child seeing I am an old woman and this my husband here is an old man? That would indeed be a wonderful thing!" They said: "Dost thou wonder at God's decree? The grace of God and His blessings on you, O ye people of the house! For He is indeed worthy of all praise, full of all glory." (Qur'an 11:71-73)

The Prophet Ishaq (pbuh) was born as Allah willed. He was the chosen servant of Allah and his descendants were men of high spiritual rank and character. He was inspired to do noble deeds and establish right worship. He was generous at heart.

                        Marriage and Death:

When the young Isaac grew, Prophet Abrahim as told his son that he liked for him to marry a relative of theirs. Ishaque as married his cousin.
So Prophet Ishaq (pbuh) got married to Rafaqah/Rebecca (dauggter of Batwil ) when he was forty years old. His wife gave birth to Ya'qub as.

Prophet Muhammad saww praised Ishaque in a hadith. The Prophet saww said that Joseph (Yusuf as) was a genuinely generous person, as was his father Jacob (Ya^qub as), as was his father, Isaac (Ishaq as), as was his father Ibrahim as. Our Prophet saww praised all four of these Prophets, saying that they were genuinely generous. They were the only four consecutive Prophets, (father, son, grandson, and great-grandson).Allah had also told them that they ll have children who ll be righteous and fair in righteousness and also those that ll be unfair to themselves and blasphemed.

Ishaque as was a fine Prophet of God, conveying the message of goodness, like all the other Prophets. Ishaque as reminded the people of the purpose of this life. He taught them the rules of the great, true Religion of Islam. He told the people of Paradise for some and Hellfire for others, just as the other Prophets did.
He lived, preaching Islam, for 180 years. He died in the land of ash-Sham. He was buried next to his father in the same cave where Abraham and Sarah were buried, in Al-Khalil (Hebron), Palestine.

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

Prophet Ismail As(Elder brother of Ishaaque as).

One day, Ibrahim as woke up and asked his wife Hajira to get her son and prepare for a long journey. In a few days Ibrahim as started out with his wife Hajira and their son Ismael as. The child was still nursing and not yet weaned.

                          Journey to Makkah:

Ibrahim as walked through cultivated land, desert, and mountains until he reached the desert of the Arabian Peninsula and came to an uncultivated valley having no fruit, no trees, no food, no water. The valley had no sign of life.

Ibn Abbas ra narrated: "The first lady to use a girdle was the mother of Ismael as.She used a girdle so that she might hide her tracks from Sarah (by dragging it). Ibrahim as brought her and her son Ismael as while she was suckling him to a place near the Kabah under a tree on the spot of ZamZam at the highest place in the masjid. During those days there was nobody in Makkah nor was there any water so he made them sit over there and placed near them a leather bag containing some dates and a small water skin containing some water and set out homeward.

After Ibrahim as had helped his wife and child to dismount, he left them with a small amount of food and water which was hardly enough for 2 days. He turned around and walked away. He wife hurried after him asking: "Where are you going Abrahim, leaving us in this barren valley?"

Ibrahim as did not answer her, but continued walking. She repeated what she had said, but he remained silent. Finally she understood that he was not acting on his own initiative.
She realized that Allah had commanded him to do this. She asked him : "Did Allah command you to do so?"
                          He replied: "Yes."
Then his great wife said: "We are not going to be lost, since Allah Who has commanded you is with us."

On reaching the Thaniya where they could not see him, he faced the Kabah and raising both hands, invoked Allah saying the following prayers:*
"O our Lord! I have made some of my offspring dwell in a valley without cultivation, by Your Sacred House (Kabah in Makkah) in order, O our Lord that they may offer prayer perfectly. So fill some hearts among men with love towards them, and O Allah provide them with fruits so that they may give thanks."*(Ch 14:37)

Ibn Abbas's narration continued; "Ishmael's mother went on with suckling Ismael and drinking from the water (she had) When the water in the water skin had been used up, she became thirsty and her child also became thirsty. She started looking at him (Ismael as) in agony insearch of water by tawakkal of Allah putting her trust in Allah.
She left him, for she could not endure looking at him, and found that the mountain of As-Safa was the nearest mountain to her on that land. she ran at a fast pace between safa marwa and started looking at the valley keenly so that she might see somebody, but she could not see anybody. Then she descended for As Safa and when she reached the valley, she tucked up her robe and ran in the valley like a person in distress and trouble till she crossed the valley and reached the mountain of Al Marwa. There she stood and started looking expecting to see somebody, but she could not see anybody. she repeated that running between Safa And Marwa seven times."

The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: "This is the source of the tradition of the Sa'y (rituals of the hajj, pilgrimage) the going of people between them (As-Safa and Al-Marwa). When she reached Al Marwa (for the last time) she heard a voice and she asked herself to be quiet and listened attentively. She heard the voice again and said:
"O whoever you maybe! You have made me hear your voice; have you got something to help me?" And behold! She saw an angel at the place of Zam zam, digging the earth with his heel (or his wing) till water flowed from that place.
She started to make something like a basin around it, using her hand in this way, and started filling her water skin with water with her hands and the water was flowing out water she had scooped some of it."

The Prophet (pbuh) added: "May Allah bestow mercy on Ismael's mother! Had she let the zam-zam flow without trying to control it, or had she not scooped from that water to fill her water skin, Zam zam would have been a stream flowing on the surface of the earth."

The Prophet (pbuh) continued: "Then she drank water and suckled her child. The angel said to her: "Don't be afraid of being neglected, for this is the House of Allah which will be built by this boy and his father, and Allah never neglects His people."

The House (Kaba) at that time was on a high place resembling a hillock, and when torrents came, they flowed to its right and left.

"She lived in that way till some people from the tribe of Jurhum or a family from Jurhum passed by her and her child as they (the Jurhum people) were coming through the way of Kada. they landed in the lower part of Makkah where they saw a bird that had the habit of flying around water and not leaving it. they said: "this bird must be flying around water, though we know that there is no water in this valley."

They sent one or two messengers who discovered the source of water zam zam with hajira and returned to inform them of the water. SO they all came towards the water. Ismael's mother was sitting near the water. They asked her: "Do you allow us to stay with you?" She replied: "Yes, but you will have no right to possess the water." They agreed to that. Ishmael's mother was pleased with the whole situation, as she let them settled there, and later on they sent for their families who came and settled with them so that some families became permanent residents there. The child (Ishmael) grew up and learned Arabic from them and (his virtues) caused them to love and admire him as he grew up and when he reached the age of puberty they made him marry a woman from amongst them."

The Prophet (pbuh) continued: "After Ishmael's mother had died, Ibrahim as came after Ismael's marriage in order to see his family that he had left before but he did not find Ismael there. When he asked Ismael's wife about him, she replied: "He has gone in search of livelihood." Then he asked her about their way of living and their condition, and she replied, "We are living in misery; we are living in hardship and destitution,' complaining to him. He said: "When your husband returns, convey my salutations to him and tell him to change the threshold of the gate (of his house)."

When Ismael as came, he seemed to have felt something unusual, so he asked his wife:
                          'Has anyone visited you?'
she replied, 'Yes, an old man of such and such description came and asked me about you and I informed him and he asked about our state of living and I told him that we were living in a hardship and poverty.'
On that Ismael as said: 'Did he advise you anything?'
She said: 'Yes he told me to convey his salutation to you and to tell you to change the threshold of your gate.'
Ismael as said: 'It was my father and he has ordered me to divorce you. Go back to your family.' so, Ismael as divorced her and married another woman from among them (Jurhum)."

Then Ibrahim as stayed away from them for a period as long as Allah wished and called on them again but did not find Ismael. So he came to Ismael's as wife and asked her about Ismael as. She said: 'he has gone insearch of our livelihood.'
Ibrahim as asked her; 'how are you getting on?'
(Asking her about their sustenance and living.)

she replied: 'we are prosperous and well off (we have everything in abundance).' then she thanked Allah.

Ibrahim as said: 'What kind of food do you eat?'
                          she said: 'meat.'
He said: 'what do you drink?'
she said: 'water.' he said: 'O Allah! bless their meat and water.""

The Prophet (pbuh) added: "At that time they did not have grain, and if they had grain he would have also invoked Allah to bless it. If somebody has only these two things as his sustenance, his health and disposition will be badly affected unless he lives in Makkah"

The Prophet (pbuh) continued: "Then Abraham said to Ismael's as wife:
'When your husband comes give my regards to him and tell him that he should keep firm the threshold of his gate.'

When Ismael as came back he asked his wife,
                          'Did anyone call no you?'
she replied: 'Yes, a good looking old man came to me,'.
So she praised him and added: 'He asked about you and I informed him that we were in a good condition.'
Ismael as asked her:' did he give you any piece of advice?'
She said; 'Yes, he told me to give his regards to you and ordered that you should keep firm the threshold of your gate.'

On that Ismael as said: 'It was my father, and you are the threshold of the gate. He has ordered me to keep you with me.'

Then Ibrahim as stayed away from them for a period as long as Allah wished and called on them afterwards. He saw Ismael as under a tree near Zam Zam, sharpening his arrows.
When he saw Ibrahim as, he rose up to welcome him (and they greeted each other as a father does with his son or a son does with his father).
Ibrahim as said: 'O Ismael! Allah has give me an order.' Ismael as said: 'Do what your Lord has ordered you to do.' Ibrahim as asked:'Will you help me?' Ismael as said: 'I will help you.'
Ibrahim as said: 'Allah has ordered me to build a house here,' pointing to a hillock higher than the land surrounding it.

"Then they raised the foundations of the House (the Kaba). Ismael as brought the stones while Ibrahim as built and when the walls became high Ismael as brought this stone and put it for Ibrahim as who stood over it and carried on building. While Ismael as was handing him the stones, and both of them were saying:*"Our Lord! Accept this service from us, verily, You are the All Hearer, the All Knower." (Ch 2:127 Quran)

the Prophet (pbuh) added: "Then both of them went on building and going round the Kaba saying*,'O our Lord! Accept this service from us, verily, You are the All Hearer, the All Knower."; (Sahih Bukhari).

Then when they had both submitted themselves to the Will of Allah and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); and We called out to him: "O Ibrahim! You have fulfilled the dream (vision).Verily! Thus do We reward those who perform good deeds, totally for Allah's sake only. Verily, that indeed was a manifest trial and We ransomed him with a great sacrifice (a ram ) and We left for him ( a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times.
"Salamun (peace) be upon Ibrahim!" Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsineen (good doers). Verily, he was one of Our believing slaves.*(Ch 37:99-111 Quran)

Time passed. One day Ibrahim as was sitting outside his tent thinking of his son Ismael as and Allah's sacrifice. His heart was filled with awe and love for Allah for His countless blessings. A big tear dropped from his eyes and reminded him of Ismael as.

In the meantime, three angels descended to the earth; Gabriel, Israphael, and Michael (Jibrailas,Israphil as and Mikail as respectively), they came in human shapes and saluted Ibrahim as.
Ibrahim as arose and welcomed them. He took them inside his tent thinking they were strangers and guests. He seated them and made sure that they were comfortable, then excused himself to go to his people.Ibrahim as was a person known for hospitality and generosity.

His wife Sarah arose when he entered. She had become old and white haired. Ibrahim as said to her:
"We have three strangers in the house."
                          "Who are they?" she asked.
"I do not know any of them," he answered.
"What food have we got?" He asked.
                          "Half a sheep." she replied.
"Half a sheep! Slaughter a fat calf for them; they are strangers and guests." he ordered while leaving.

The servants roasted and served a calf.
Ibraham as invited the angels to eat and he started eating so as to encourage them.
He continued, but when he glanced at his guests to assure they were eating, he noticed that none of them had touched the food.
He said to the them: "Are you not going to eat?"
He resumed eating, but when he glanced at them again he found that they were still not eating. Their hands did not reach out for the food. HE began to fear them.

                          Ibrahim's as fears increased.
The angels, however were reading his inner thoughts and one of them said:
                          "Do not fear."
Ibrahim as raised his head and replied: "Indeed I am in fear. I have asked you to eat food but you do not stretch out your hands to eat. Do you intend me evil?"

One of the angels smiled and said: "We do not eat. We are Allah's angels."
One of them then turned towards his wife and conveyed the glad tidings about Isaac (Ishaaq) as.

Almighty Allah revealed:"*Verily! There came Our Messengers to Ibrahim as with glad tidings. They said: "Salaam (greetings or peace)!" he answered: "Salaam (greetings or peace)!" and he hastened to entertain them with a roasted calf. But, when he saw their hands went not towards it (the meal), he felt some mistrust of them, and conceived a fear of them.
They said: "Fear not, we have been sent against the people of Lot." And his wife was standing there and she laughed (either, because the Messengers did not eat their food or for being glad for the destruction of the people of Lot). But We gave her glad tidings of Isaac(ishaque), and after him of Jacob (yaqoob)."

She said (in astonishment): "Woe unto me! Shall I bear a child while I am an old woman, and here is my husband an old man? Verily! This is a strange thing!"
They said: "Do you wonder at the Decree of Allah? The Mercy of Allah and His Blessings be on you, O the family (of Ibrahim). Surely, He (Allah) is All praiseworthy, All-Glorious."*(CH 11:69-73).

                            Prophet Ayyub as (joab).

Ayyub (AS) (Job) was one of the Prophets of Bani Isra'il (People of Israel). Ayyub was the grandson of Ishaq (AS) (Isaac) and Ibrahim (AS) (Abraham) was his great-grandfather. Allah, be He exalted, says what can be translated as, "And among his progeny Ayyûb (Job), Sulaimân (Solomon), Yûsuf (Joseph), Mûsâ (Moses), and Hârûn (Aaron)…" ( Al-An'am:84) . From the family of Ibrahim were Bani Isra'il through his son, Ishaq, and the Arabs through his son, Isma'il (AS) (Ishmael). Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the only prophet of Isma'il's descendants.

Because of their widespread corruption, Bani Isra'il were sent one prophet after another. Every prophet had a message for the people; Yunus' (AS) message was: never give up calling people to Allah. Sulaiman's (AS) message was: Allah is able to subject the universe to man and man should employ it to worship Allah. The universe praised Allah with Dawud (AS), and that was his message. And Ayyub's (AS) message was the faith of patience.

Ayyub (AS) is a prophet who was sent to people in Belad el-Sham (the Levant), the vast majority were believers and loved him already. Allah bestowed wondrous blessings upon him; no one before was granted such blessings, and he remained like that for fifty years. No one is tried as greatly as an honorable man who has lost all his fortunes.

Today's story is addressed to two kinds of people: those who have misfortune, such as an ailing family member, those who became bankrupt, those who lost a son and the like; and others who live a blessed life without even realizing that they do, or that they might lose it one day.

Think about the blessings Ayyub (AS) had: money, countless barley and wheat fields, hundreds of slaves, a good and beautiful wife, physical strength, fourteen sons and daughters, he had faith and assurance, an unlimited number of friends, cattle, horses, and livestock. All that lasted for fifty years.

Allah, be He exalted, wanted to examine him, so He deprived him of his money, his lands became barren, the fourteen sons and daughters all died, the cattle were lost, and he had to sell the slaves just to pay for his expenses. Allah then put him to another test with a physical disease. He became crippled and unable to move. His friends thought his illness was contagious and shunned him as a result; he was left with his faithful wife and only two of his resolved friends.

Allah says what can be translated as, "As for man, when his Lord tries him by giving him honor and bounties, then he says (in exultation), 'My Lord has honored me'. But when He tries him by straitening his means of life, he says, 'My Lord has humiliated me!' Nay! But you treat not the orphans with kindness and generosity! And urge not one another on the feeding of the poor! And you devour the inheritance—all with greed. And you love wealth with a great love. Nay! When the earth is ground to powder, and your Lord comes with the angels in rows; and Hell will be brought near that Day. On that Day will man remember, but how will that remembrance (then) avail him?" (Al-Fajr: 15-23).

Happiness and affliction are both tests from Allah, the Great and Almighty. Never rely on this worldly life, or feel secure against the Plan of Allah. Allah wants to let you know that this world's treasures are worth nothing; so never let them take over your heart. Instead, work for it because you are a Muslim.

His wife fed him and cared for him; she spent money on him until it had run out, so she started working for other people for money. The ordeal lasted for 18 years.

Allah created the universe in six days only to show us that everything works out gradually if there is patience. This shows us that perfection is the outcome of patience, prayer to Allah, night prayers, and obedience to Allah's commands, such as the Hijab (Head Scarf), etc. It also shows us that imperfection comes out of impatience, such as adultery, and stealing, etc.

Patience is the core of Islam. The evidence is that the story of Prophet Ayyub (AS) is about patience, not prophecy. The only attribute that has been mentioned ninety times in Holly Qur'an is patience, and after it there is always a mention of optimistic news such as, "…give glad tidings to the ones who patiently persevere…" (Al-Baqarah: 155). I personally sensed a magical influence in this verse.

I met a young man once who was coming to a cleric complaining about his extreme hatred towards his wife and his intention to divorce her. All the same, the young man was still afraid to mistreat her. The cleric recited the verse I just mentioned and asked him to think about it. So, the young man left and I met him a month later and asked him about the matter. He said, "I put two things in front of me: I either put up with this situation and go to Paradise without reckoning, or I rely on the worldly life and divorce her—so, I chose the first one. I swear to Allah, I can't live without her now." This is the result of his patience. Allah granted him blessings in his present life and put the love of his wife into his heart.

Allah (SWT) says what can be translated as, "And seek help in patience and prayer and truly it is extremely heavy and hard except for the humble spirited." ( Al-Baqarah: 45).

And in another verse He says what can be translated as, "So be patient. Surely, the (good) end is for those conscious of Allah" (Hud: 49). The Prophet (PBUH) says, "You should know that victory comes with patience."
Allah also addresses the Prophet (PBUH) by saying what can be translated as, "So wait with patience for the Decision of your Lord, and be not like the Companion of the Fish"
                            (Al-Qalam: 48).
"And indeed We made a covenant with Adam before, but he forgot, and We found on his part no firm will-power" (Ta-Ha: 115).
Another verse addressed to the believers can be translated as, "O, you who believe! Endure and be more patient (than your enemy), help others to be patient, and guard your territory by stationing army units permanently at the places from where the enemy can attack you." (Al-Imran: 200).

If patience has no sweetness except that it is one of Allah's noble names that would be enough.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "No one would be given better and weightier blessing than patience." (Bukhari).

After 18 years, the wife of prophet Ayyub (AS) started to become tired.
She asked him once, "Are you a messenger and prophet?" "Yes," he said.
"Why don't you ask Allah for relief?" she asked. "How long have we been in this ordeal?" he asked her.
"Eighteen years" she said. "How long did we remain with blessings before that?" "Fifty years,"
she answered. "Allah granted us 50 years of blessing, then why can't we stand this ordeal for 50 years? I swear to Allah, I won't ask Allah until I have as much time of suffering as I had of blessing." The only words he said in praying to Allah were "Thanks be to Allah." (Isra'iliyat related from Suddi).

That reminds us of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) the day his son Ibrahim died. He made this supplication to Allah saying, "Here I am, at Your command, the good is all in Your hands, and the evil is not due to You. Here I am at your command."

The wife of our prophet Ayyub (AS) got angry and said, "I beg you to pray, for how long will we stay in this suffering?" He answered, "Woe unto you! Do you enrage Allah, be He exalted? I swear to Allah, if He cured me, I'll beat you one hundred times." (Isr. From Suddi).

People then started refusing his wife as a servant, thinking she might carry her husband's disease to them.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) mentions all this. He said, "Prophet Ayyub endured trial for eighteen years. Relatives and acquaintances shunned him except two of his kinsmen.
One day one of them said to the other 'I swear to Allah that Ayyub has committed a great and unforgivable sin.' 'Never!' the other answered. 'Can't you see the affliction he is in? Allah did not have mercy on him for eighteen years,' said the first one.

The two went to Ayyub and the second man said, 'Do you know what this man was saying? He said you have committed a great sin, so Allah will not forgive you.' Ayyub said, 'I know nothing of what you both are saying, but I know that whenever I passed by two quarrelling people I came back home praying for Allah to conciliate between them, and gave charity for them so Allah would not be disobeyed.' That affected him deeply. (Isr. From Abdullah bin 'Ubaid bin 'Umair).

His wife brought plenty of food home one day. He said, "From where have you brought this food?" She didn't answer; it turned out that she cut a braid from her hair and sold it to get food for them. He was deeply touched by that and found himself compelled to pray for Allah. He said what can be translated as, "And (remember) Ayyûb, when he cried to his Lord, "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." (Al-Anbiyah: 83). He never ascribed distress to Allah. In another verse Allah says what can be translated as, "And remember Our slave Ayyûb, when he invoked his Lord (saying): "Verily Satan has touched me with distress and torment!" (Saad: 41).

Allah says what can be translated as, "So We answered his call." Allah said to him, "Strike the ground with your foot: This is (a spring of) water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink." (Saad: 42).
Here we can touch upon the sense that when you are about to do something you have to implement the means. Allah caused a spring of water to flow from beneath his feet; a spring to cure all external diseases and a drink for the internal ones. That is a proof that Allah can cure us with only a mouthful of water.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Whenever Ayyub went outdoors to answer the call of nature he leaned on his wife, and then hid from her. She led him back usually holding his hand. One time he was late." The Prophet continues, "He returned to his wife much better than he was [in shining white robes and perfect, young-looking body] so she said 'Allah bless you! Have you seen the afflicted prophet who was here before? I swear I've never met anyone who looked like him as much as you do, before he was afflicted'. 'Can't you recognize me?' he asked. 'No,' she said. 'It's me, Ayyub,' he answered." (Ibn Abu Hatim from 'Abdullah Ibn 'Abbas).

Allah says what can be translated as, "And that it is He (Allah) Who makes (whom He wills) laugh, and makes (whom He wills) weep. And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life".(An-Najm: 43, 44).

The blessings were all given back to him—his health, his strength—they were even much better than before. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told us that Allah sent two clouds over his lands; a cloud passed on the wheat field and rained gold until the field was filled, while the other passed over the barley field and rained on it until it became full. So Allah enriched him again.

Allah says what can be translated as, "and We restored his family to him (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them as a mercy from Ourselves and a Reminder for all those who worship Us" (TMQ, Al-Anbiyah: 84). His wife was given her youth back again and bore him 26 sons and daughters, as if Allah was saying, "You were not tested, everything has been given back to you and more".

Strangely enough, The Prophet (PBUH) says, "While Ayyub was bathing, Allah sent a group of locusts that started falling on him, and they turned out to be golden locusts. He stuffed his garment's pockets with them so Allah, be He exalted, said 'Oh Ayyub, haven't I given you enough?' He said 'Sure you did Allah, but I can never dispense with your blessing'." (Bukhari, Ahmad).

"Truly! We found him patient. How excellent a slave! Verily he was ever oft returning in repentance (to Us)!" (TMQ, Saad: 44).

sigpic"When it is said to them: "Make not mischief on the earth," they say: "Why, we only Want to make peace!" (2.11)

And when it is said to them (hypocrites): "Believe as the people (followers of Muhammad Peace be upon him , Al-Ansar and Al-Muhajirun) have believed," they say: "Shall we believe as the fools have believed?" Verily, they are the fools, but they know not."(2.13)

                              Prophet Nuh/Nooh/Noah as:

Nuh (Alaihis salaam) the first messenger,After Adam (Alaihis Salaam). Nuh (Alaihis Salaam) was also the first messenger to be endowed with prophethood (risalat). In a narration of Abu Hurairah (Radiallahu anhu), the following words are explicitly mentioned: "O Nuh, you are the first messenger on earth.(Muslim).

                              Lineage:

The experts of lineage have mentioned the lineage of Nuh (Alaihis Salaam) as follows:

Nuh, son of Lamik, son of Matushalih, son of Akhnukh or Khanukh son of Yarud, son of Mahleel, son of Qaynaan, son of Anush, son of Shis (alaihis Salaam), son of Adam Salaam).

Although historians and the Torah have considered this to be correct, we have our reservations. In fact it can be said with certainty that there are more stages than above-mentioned between Adam (Alaihis Salaam) and Nuh (alaihis Salaam). In the Torah the time span between the creation of Adam (Alaihis Salaam) and the birth of Nuh (Alaihis Salaam) is mentioned as 1056 years.

He spent 950 years calling people to Allah. His main concern was only to help people.

We are not created just to get married and have children and then die. We are created to help people and to awaken them. We shall make mistakes because we are humans, but still our main concern is to help people and awaken them. For 950 years, people called Nuh a liar, misguided and mentally disturbed.

They threatened to kill him, and they harmed him, in addition they made fun of him for years. For 950 years, Nuh had been exposed to more than that and yet he was strong and still called people to Allah. Imagine, years passed and people were still alling Nuh crazy and a liar. After all the effort that Nuh had exerted in calling people night and day for 950 years, only a few became believers. It was said that a few meant eighty people which means that every 15 years, only one became a believer.Imagine the patience.

Note:There were no miracles associated with Nuh.It miight say that the flood was a miracle. But no, this happened at the very end when people became totally disobedient and they were going to be punished. This is because Nuh was set as an example, for all reformers so they wouldn't make the excuse that Nuh made miracles and they are unable to. This will encourage reformers to give a hand to people and to be patient, because after all these years, Nuh didn't have any miracles. Thus he is set as an example for us to follow. We are responsible for earth. We are created on Earth to be successors.

                              Calling to Allah (Da'wah):

Your guidance for one person is much better than all the things of which the sunrise shines on.

Give a hand to another person. When you do so, you will try to persuade him with the idea and while doing so, the idea will change from persuasion to affiliation. This is what the psychologist say. This is why the following verse says:

"Ye are the best of Peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah."

This means when you try to guide people, your believing in Allah will increase.

A pious believer once said "whenever I call someone to Allah and this person responds, I feel full and don't want to eat or drink anymore"

                              Ways to Call to Allah:

A lot of people would say that they don't know how to call to Allah. So Allah shows us, by giving us a practical training, through the verses of Nuh Chapter:

"Saying, `Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving;" Talk to people about God's mercy and show them how compassionate He is. Tell them that all their sins could be forgiven in one night. Don't intimidate them. If you don't know how to talk, give them a tape or a book that talks aboutAllah's mercy.

"`He will send rain to you in abundance; Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water)." Show them the worldly rewards and not the rewards of the afterlife only.

"See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another. And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp?" Contemplate and show them Allah's power.

"And Allah has produced you from the earth, growing (gradually), And in th End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)?" Remind them that they are returning to Allah on the Day of Judgment."

                              Nuh's Calling to Allah:

After 950 years, only a few became believers. This teaches us an important lesson; that is to follow Allah's orders, regardless of the consequences. Prophet Mohamed saww kept calling to Allah for 13 years, and only 70 people became believers. You should do your best, and then not be overwhelmingly concerned if they become believers or not. What counts is that you did your best and then Allah decides what happens next.

After 950 years had passed, Nuh invoked to God against his own people. Is it acceptable that a prophet invoke to God against anyone? Nuh did this only after Allah informed him that there would be no more believers. So he said,

"O my Lord! Leave not of the Unbelievers, a single one on earth!" and then he said.

"For, if Thou dost leave (any of) them, they will but mislead Thy devotees, and they will breed none but wicked ungrateful ones" This shows that he invoked to God against his people, only because he was afraid that they would have a bad influence on those who became believers, and mislead them, not because of all they had done to him throughout the 950 years.

                              A Companion's Example:

A reformer loves the good for people. He never wishes anything bad to happen to people. Prophet Mohamed saww asked Taufail bin Amr ra to go to his own people and call them to Allah. Tuafail kept calling his people to Allah for three years.
Only one person became a believer. He went back to Prophet Mohamed saww and told him that he called his people for three years and only one became believer.
So Prophet Mohamed sawwheld up his hands to the sky.Taufail ra thought that he would invoke to Allah against his people, but instead Prophet Mohamed prayed to Allah that He would guide Taufail 's ra people. Then Prophet Mohamed saww told Taufail ra to go back to his people and not to come back until they became believers. So Taufail ra returned to his people and kept working hard for ten years, until he made all his people become believers.*

                              Nuh's as Ark:

It was revealed to Nuh! "None of thy People will believe except those who have believed already!*.

Here, Allah is telling Nuh that there will be no more believers, so his people will be punished. So Allah (SWT) says*

                              "And construct an Ark"

They lived in a desert, so there were no trees. So to construct an Ark, they would have to start to plant trees to get wood. They must learn to grow seeds of solid woodened trees. They should grow an enormous amount of trees. They lived in a desert at the very beginning of history, which means there were no Arks before, so this was considered an invention, and the proof to this is Allah's verse in which He says,

"But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre:" So Allah here explains to Nuh what an Ark is. He tells him that it's made of wooden planks tied together.*

Why do you think Allah made them go through all that, while Allah could have easily punished the disbelievers? This is to test the stamina and the convention of the believers, because they will be responsible for earth. The scholars said that it took them about 100 years to construct the Ark. So these 100 years were considered a learning phase for the believers.*

Imagine yourself with Nuh as, you are in a desert constructing an Ark and growing trees for 100 years because Nuh says that there will be a flood that will drown everyone, although you are in a desert and there is no water. But you are doing this; just for the sake that Nuh as said that Allah told him so. This was a real test for the believers.*

There is another crucial point. How was Nuh saved? He was saved by the flood. No, not only that. It's not enough to pray to God to save you. You should work hard for it. Nuh as was saved by an invention, as the Ark was a new invention at that time. This means that Nuh was a scholar, a prophet and an inventor. Don't ever think that you should be religious without succeeding in life. Nuh as was a religious man who was successful in life. He knew how to build an Ark, and how to grow trees. He was not like the Muslims nowadays who don't know how to build a car. Nuh as was a prophet who insisted on calling to Allah and at the same time, he was an inventor.*

So if you are a lazy student, then you don't understand what Islam is, and if the rate of illiteracy in Mohamed's saww nation is about 60% then this means we don't understand Islam.*
Imagine the different means of torture to which they were exposed to in those 100 years. But Allah (SWT) didn't leave them alone, He said*,

"And construct an Ark under Our eyes and Our inspiration," He is telling them not to be afraid, He is with them. They are not alone. Try to imitate Nuh's followers, they worked for 100 years without seeing any outcome, and yet they had a lot of faith in Allah. I am telling you to pray to Allah in humility, so you would be worthy of Allah's protection and mercy.*

                              The following verse says*

"and do not speak to Me in respect of those who are unjust; surely they shall be drowned."

This is because after Allah informed Nuh as that his people will be destroyed, Nuh as kept asking God to forgive them. They tortured him for 950 years, and yet he asked for their forgiveness. See, how much he loved the good for others. Similarly in Uhud battle, the disbelievers dug a hole for Prophet Mohamed saww to fall into. So Prophet Mohamed saww fell into it and his face got hit by a rock.
A quarter of his front teeth fell and his mouth became filled with blood. And then when the Prophet saww tried to stand up, Abu kamiaa hit him brutally by a sword on his helmet, making his whole face bleed. Prophet Mohamed saww held up his hands to the sky, so everyone thought that he would invoke to Allah against the disbelievers, but instead, Prophet Mohamed saww asked Allah to guide his people.
