Why do you follow islam? I'm personally an agnostic and could care less, thinking about the muslim state of affairs does nothing but depress me so I stay away from thinking of such things.
Just here to ask, why do you willingly choose to follow and practise Islam? The prophet muhammad was indeed a warlord who consummated a marriage with a 9 year old, would you be ok with someone doing that to your sister or daughter? Why follow the religion of a man who says camel urine is a medicine that will cure every ailment that plagues you?
Why follow a religion imposed upon pashtuns by persians and turko-persians under the saffarids and ghaznavids? Why follow a religion that essentially seeks to replace native cultures with heavy arab culture? What happened to proper pashtun names? Everyone is named after some arab or an arabic word nowadays - this is nothing more than arab imperialism would you not agree? At the very least christianity did not change entire cultures or languages but rather was adopted by them - much like almost every single other religion except islam whose god cannot speak any language other than arabic.
Sunnism at least makes some theological sense when compared to shiism or christianity but even then it's easy for a rational mind to dismiss it - so what keeps you believing in a religion that was forcefully imposed on you, us, afghans by foreigners?
The most explicit mentioning of the Afghans appears in Al- Baruni’s Tarikh Al-Hind (eleventh century AD). Here it is said that various tribes of Afghans lived in the mountains in the west of India. Al Baruni adds that they were savage people and he describes them as Hindus
This is what the arabs had to say of us, just as today and in the past pashtuns offered resistance to any who tried to come and change their way of life, so too they resisted islam for as long as they could.
