some jews said it like some christians say about christ.... bare in mind that arian christianity was very popular in prophets time and they opposed trinitarian views

one sect did... its dead now and was on the verge of extinction at prophets time... it was a minor insignificant sect.... basically the belief stemmed from the fact that on the return from exile Prophet Ezra was able to recite the torah by heart or something like this

Those who are of the opinion that a Muslim woman can marry a non-Muslim because the prohibition is not mentioned have to reflect upon the whole Quran before coming to this conclusion.

A non-existent prohibition clause does not necessarily mean permission.

            Please reflect upon that.

A MUSLIM WOMAN CANNOT MARRY ANYONE BUT A MUSLIM.

Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

If the Holy Quran tells you everything, i.e. what you can do and what you can't do, then the Quran would be infinite, literally infinite, volumes. That is why not all ordinary people can make verdicts. They have to be well versed with the Quran.

The question I want to ask you is what is the purpose of marriage?

Not "necessarily," Yes. But does it necessarily mean forbiddance? Why does absence of permission have to mean denial or forbiddance?

                    To make babies?
We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

If I agree with you we w'd both be wrong.

Dearest sister, bring all the verses that talk about marriage. Let us analyze them together.

My sister, don't look at the Quran like a novel that you pick up from the bookstore. Without the sunnah of the Prophet (saw) one can never understand the Quran. Therefore, please have fear of Allah when you analyze the Quran and make sure that you are in-line with his (saw) interpretation.

Anyhow, bring all the verses and let us see what they say.

As for as I know a Muslim cannot marry a non-believer but can marry people of the book. But it's really preferred to marry a Muslim or convert someone into Islam before marrying him/her.
