Isn't the sense of fasting not to eat? or eat less possible? So shouldn't food be limited to the lightest things?

We fast for 19 hours eating and drinking nothing at all, in the remaining 5 hours we have a chance to stack up some fuel reserves so we are discussing what type of food will be the best to sustain our bodies throughout the day.

I think as you fat it should be the lightest food. Otherwise the sense of fasting gets lost. Physiologically it is no problem and moreover the limit in food will even help.

I wondered about some heavy meals, thats why I asked.

Very oily and salty food leaves you thirty for the rest of your day. You better eat Shorwa, steak (not qorma and those) and bread. Lemon and Orange juices keep you hydrated. No wreji at all, coz it digests so quickly that you will feel hungry even a couple of hours just after Peshlamai. And a lot of water!

We, here in southern part of Afghanistan, call it Peshlamai (پيشلمی).
