    Dear Aseer Jaan wrora,

I don't think that Islam is a 'complete' way of life.I consider it as any other systems in the world. If it was so perfect, why the inhabitants of the muslim countries are having more problems than the other non-islamic state?
Like many others, I can also scream at the top of my lungs by claiming that Islam is the 'complete' way of life because it gives this and that rights. But are those rights actually given to the deserving ones? Make me a parrot and I would recite this line 'Islam is complete' but how much of this 'completeness' is actually existing?

Aseer Jaan, the moral compass shifts from time to time. Ideologies that have fixed moral compasses always end up in a state of crisis. What is considered moral varies drastically from Saudi Arabia to Pakistan - and I'm not talking about the followers here, I'm talking about the scholars.

And so is the Bible, Geeta, and Torah...

On this thread, I am trying to defend my viewpoint--that religion is a progeny of morality--morality does not necessarily have to be tied to religion. If morality is all religion , then those who do not believe in a particular object of worship are deviod of moral standards. Are all murders, robberies, rapes, bribes, cheatings, lies, dishonesties conducted by the non-religious moral people?

Wouldn't that be cherry-picking, one one hand you say I take this part of the Quran, but when it comes to morality you decide to not take part of it?

What kind of unfruitful picking I am doing here? I think I have refrained from specifying any religion here not for the fear of repercussions but I did not 'feel the necessity'. And now wondering where did my all cherries go?

You can not base a religion based on its follower khorey, Just because it does not exist you decided to the draw the line that Islam is not the way of life and our first source for morality?

Aseer Jaan, don't you get it? The moral values of the Quran are only what people want them to be. Ultimately, they're people and their sentiments and way of life that decide how they'll interpret the Quran and implement it. They're people who've read the same Quran and interpreted gender-'mixing' as permissible and impermissible, they're people who've read the Quran and implemented or rejected the burkha, etc, etc...

Not only from gita, but even from a dog...the other day I learnt an important lesson from a dog--that the more hungry needs to be fed first. (Dog A saw that Dog B is very hungry. He stopped eating and moved away, and let the Dog B eat first. The Dog A did not bite Dog B upon finishing the food. This is a real life experience).
I have been taught the basic principles of good or bad by my soceity (the same soceity from where you come) and now I can easily discern what is good or bad for me and I guess I am successful in accomplishing this herculean task. MY greatest success is this case is that, so far, nobody has claimed to be hurt by me.That is the success of my moral belief system.
No book or religion is the ONLY source for me. I am a universal human.I am not confined to anything. If a dog teaches me wisdom, he is my preacher and teacher.

The Quran can be interpreted as 10 different books and therefore, we should not say that religion, or more specifically one religion, is tied to morality.

Wrora, how come I restrict myself to Quran (or any other Holy book) when I have myriad of 'nove'l problems each day.My primary source of morality are my accepted social standards which pretty much are the general social norms. At least I am not as erratic as Lady Gaga!
Trust me, I have never advised someone to kill another human as much as it is in Quran, Torah, Bible etc.Ain't you happy that we both don't want to kill other humans?

Owing to the existence of the 70+ sects, sub-sects, sub-sub-sects, it is being interpreted differently so this is beyond me, unfortunately.

                            Thanks karachipashtun.

I am supposed to get it from every possible source, not just a religion.Goodness is not limited to one theory, text, person, place,or Pir Saib.
He has also gotton from Islam yet he is involved in the killing of innocent people.

What you think? Who is responsible? Islam or himself?
