EmKhan you're lying now, I just told you few posts before that you don't have to be brutal to people to punish them. You can punish someone many ways, like jail, fine, public service or even taking way their income. Or send them away to work in some mine, prison camp. isn't that enough?

Many ways to punish someone without being a sicko and cutting them up or throwing a rock at them.

Then Why in the time of prophet Muhammad pbuh, the criminals were punished and even after him ? Did the pophet Muhammad pbuh and the sahaba R.A have less understanding of the holy Quran than the mutazilas ?

Because they wanted punishment, they wanted to purify themselves that way

when Nabi(saw) punished the man for zina, it isn't because he wanted to, it is because the man asked him and he confessed three times.

also back in Muhammmad(saw)'s time they didn't have sophisticated or advanced punishment system, no prisons no concrete government; so now we are more advanced we don't need to rely on those punishments anymore. we have better ways to handle criminals now.

Today you saying you don't need those laws, tomorrow you can say you don't need salah because you have reached to moon so closer to God, you don't need to fast, there are so many alternative ways to perform that, you don't need the quran and this continues until you say you don't need prophet and God.
But my dear Islam is not like that. The word of God and the saying of the holy prophet have been and will be the needs of Muslims up to the time end.

In Logic your argument is called a Slippery Slope Fallacy.

                  Description of Slippery Slope

The Slippery Slope is a fallacy in which a person asserts that some event must inevitably follow from another without any argument for the inevitability of the event in question. In most cases, there are a series of steps or gradations between one event and the one in question and no reason is given as to why the intervening steps or gradations will simply be bypassed. This "argument" has the following form:

Event X has occurred (or will or might occur).

The Laws of Islam has been changed during the time of Muhammad(saw) and even Khalifa Umar Ibn Khattab(ra) himself stopped amputation for stealing because the people were too poor. Remember?

We're not saying that God's Law is no longer needed, but God's Law is like a living thing, It grows and moves, just like a living being. Not stays in one place like a rock.
