I think it starts at the the basics of the definition and root of the word Islam. It is derived from the word Slm which means peace. Islam also means to submit one's will to God and therefore, collectively, can be defined as peace acquired through submission to Allah SWT. As Muslims, in our greeting, also at the basic level, we wish people that the Mercy and Blessings and Peace of Allah be upon them unlike any other religion, culture or language. One of the attributes of Allah SWT described in the Quran along with other Asma and Siffat is As-Salam, which means peace. This suggests Allah's Being itself is a manifestation of peace.

The Qur'an is no gun or weapon of war. It is a book of ideology. In such a situation asking people to struggle by means of the Qur'an signifies to strive by means of ideology. That is to say, to work hard to conquer people's hearts and minds by the superior ideology of Islam. The greatest problem facing Islam in present times, to my way of thinking, is that Muslims have consigned the Sunnah of non-violence to oblivion. In more recent times, when Muslims faced such problems as that of Palestine, the fall of the Mughal empire, and the Turkish caliphate, they fell prey to negative reaction on such a large scale that they completely forgot that the policy of Islam was that of non-violence and not of violence.

Islam teaches us non-violence. The Qur'an tells us that God does not love disorder. According to the Qur'an, disorder is that course of action, which results in disturbance in the social system incurring loss in terms of life and property. Whenever the Prophet SAW had an option between two courses of action, he always chose the easier (non-confrontational) one. This means that, violent activism should not be indulged in if peaceful activism is an option as it is the perfect solution to problems in all spheres.

Note: As a general reminder, we are, after all, posting in a thread about promoting peace. Disagreements and confrontation are bound to come up in any debate, however, remarks that incite personal attacks are not encouraged. Please adhere to the thread requirements which clearly state that proof from authentic sources is the basis for this topic. There is very little place for personal experiences and attacks in a thread of this nature.

Please post your TRUE facts here. Only Quran, hadith please. Not your own interpretation.
In the other thread you proved yourself to be incapable of posting facts as you tampered with an ayah from the Qur'an and gave it a false meaning. That should be enough alert to yourself not to engage in these types of discussions

Further, your thread is a complete waste since you are giving only one side of the Deen

Yes, Islaam brings material peace through justice, when the Islaamic laws are implemented in our entire political and social system. Islaam also brings spiritual peace, this can be done through prayer, charity, fighting on the battlefield, dhikr, giving dawah, reciting Qur'an and so on

Everything has its proper implementation, and today we are in a constant state of being attacked, this is why it may seem to you that some members are only talking about legitimate resistance against the aggression of Judeo-Christo-Hindu Crusaders, as that's more proper since it's what is required today

This does not mean the rest is negated, no, as a matter of choice it's discussed when the time for it becomes available

I am giving the positive side of the deen since you all so gladly enjoy bringing out the bad. So, if you want to be negative, go back into the Muslim hating thread. This is for happy people....

Final Reminder This is a very relevant thread to our situation as Muslims today. It will be of aid to all who need to clear misconceptions with the power of Quran and Sunnah, to companions who are quick to criticise. Please stay on topic. If need be, those posts will be moved, or even so, deleted.

Islaam comes from the root "Silm" which means submission, the one who follows Islaam is called a Muslim "the one who submits"

Islaam doesn't mean peace, we don't say "Islaam alaykum"

I can see your attitude stems from the fact that you do not believe that Islam means peace. Hence, you are forgiven.

What is the root for Islam?
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.
