  • Islam promotes peace, not violence.

I think we should post proof that Islam brings peace, promotes peace, and does not mandate that we kill everyone.

Please post your TRUE facts here. Only Quran, hadith please. Not your own interpretation.

Also, please post the tafsir of the ayat and hadith. Don't post random verses by pulling things out of context to suite your personal agenda.

Also make sure you can explain what the ayat says. And don't philosophize about the verses based on the english translation alone.

Let's be honest. We are not here for a popularity competition.

To kill a person is to create disorder in the land - it shall be as if you have killed all of mankind. 5:33

A person who kills a person unfairly or who kills someone in a way of violating peace amongst the people is creating disorder in the land, it is as if this person has killed all of mankid. In other words, to kill a person without any just cause according to Allah swt, is a murderer of the entire human race. It is obvious how wrong it is to take the life of another person without reason.

He who abandons kindness abandons religion. (Al Hakm, vol. 9 No. 15)

Therefore if you are not kind to others, you are not a Muslim. I don't think I need to elaborate on this further.

The prophet PBUH said this to his enemies in prayer:

"Oh Allah! Guide my people because they do not know (the truth)"

He was once asked to pray that a curse befall the Dossan tribe, he asked instead:

"Oh Allah! Guid the tribe of Dossan"

Is it not obvious that the Prophet himself pbuh was all about kidness for humanity. He never said he was going to compel them into belief by use of the sword but in fact refained from any bad behaviour and simply prayed to Allah swt.

There should be no compulsion in religion. Surely, right has become distinct from wrong; whosoever refuses to he led by those who transgress, and believes in Allah, has surely grasped a strong handle which knows no breaking. And Allah is All-hearing, All-Knowing. 2:257

This is the tradition from when the Banu Nadir were exiled from Madinah when they failed to fulfill their promise to maintain peace. At that time, they also had many children of the Ansar (Muslims in Madinah). These children had begun to live amongst the Jews, because in the pre-Islamic days of ignorance, amongst the Arab tribes of Aus and Khizraj, those who had no male children used to pledge that if the next child were born a male they would make him a Jew. So, there were many Jews. The Muslims wanted to get back their own descendants from the Jews. The Prophet pbuh said there is no compulsion in religion and that once you hand over your own son to someone else and that someone else makes your descendants follow another religion, you cannot take him back: he would have to go with Banu Nadir.

So...he let them go in peace. Didn't fight. Just prayed for them.

During the time of the Prophet pbuh there were also many followers of other faiths. He said to them:
The principle for whose acceptance I fought against you, you will not be abandoned because of your opposition to it. Undoubtedly, because of your mentality, you adopted a wrong course of action, but rights shall be preserved. Go, no blame attached to you. Each one fo you is free in matters of faith. You are our Zimmi (non muslim in a muslim country). God and His messenger shall be fully responsible for your safety." Nisb al raiah fi Takhrjj Ahadith Al Hadaya Vol. 4. P.381

              want more?

Oh ye who believe! Be steadfast int he cause of Allah, bearing witness in equity; and let not a people's enmity incite you to act otherwise than with justice. Be always just, that is nearer to righteousness. And fear Allah. Surely, Allah is aware of what you do. (Quran 5:9)

              more?

And fight then until there is no persecution, and religion is freely professed for Allah. But if they desist, then remember that no hostility is allowed except against the aggressors. (Quran 2:194)

So this shows that despite the permission grated to engage in a defensive battle against these pursuers and cruel persecutors, the consistent teaching of Allah swt was not to exceed these limits. Only fight those who fight you. Do not fight because your true job is to establish peace. So even with permission of war, we have been given the beautiful principle of promoting peace first.

Duing wars, the Prophet pbuh engaged with the order that:
              -No women killed
              -No children killed
              -The old not be impeded
-nothing be said to the refugees, monks and hermits
-No person be set on fire
              -no animal be kiled
              -no tree be cut down
-unlike your enemy, no person's nose or ear to be cut off.

Thus the prisoners taken after the battle of Badr themselves admitted that: By God! The Muslims walked on foot while we were made to ride, they remained hungry themselves whilst they fed us, they remained thirsty while they gave us water. (Bukhari, Muslim)

"Allah forbids you not, with regard to those who fight you not for (your) Faith nor drive you out of your homes, from dealing kindly and justly with them: for Allah loveth those who are just." 60:08

Anti-Muslims resort to a deceitful misrepresentation when they misquote the Quranic verses of the second chapter. They claim that Quran promoted killing the infidels wherever you find them. Indeed, this is true but only if the infidels attack Muslims. Here are the verses complete:
                Quran 2:190-193.

                • Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.
                • And slay them wherever ye catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out; for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter; but fight them not at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there; but if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who suppress faith.
                • But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
                • And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression.

You are posting qadiyani articles. Please refrain.

He who abandons kindness abandons religion (Al Hakm, vol. 9 No. 15)
What is that? There is no such thing.

I will be back later to critic.

So you are admitting that you do not care for peace
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

The article that Muslimah has presented is very valid. It does not matter who wrote it. Quranic verses are all there.

I don't get Sangar, seriously, why you always want to tear every good thing about Islam to smithereens.
Like, you want people to hate Islam, fear Islam and think we're a bunch of terrorists.
If that's what you honestly think, I question you as a Muslim.
I was asked to invite my friends here to PF, and it is people like you stopping me. I don't want new converts to think we're monsters. Because that isn't true.
As far as I am concerned, Islam brings peace. You haven't yet shown me any contradiction to what I have posted. Only silly little comments.
Since you are good at bringing out the negative in everything, what do you have to refute it?

Sangar, what is it that you want. Honestly?

Your views are your views. Our view are our views. However, if we are going to attribute anything to Islam it has to be from the Holy Quran and the sunnah of our beloved Prophet (saw).

Many times you have claimed things and not backed them up. I have requested you to and you have not. Should I start calling you a liar now?

The first thing I want you to post is where on earth did you get the idea that our Prophet (saw) said that we should not allow other faiths to preach?

We have to start holding you accountable for what you claim. You are making a mockery of Islam.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.
