Personally, I would be upset if any medical board passed these students or certified anyone with a failure to understand basic biology. They are required to attend the lectures and learn (and practice) the material. They are not required to believe it. If there faith is so weak that they are going to turn their back on it due to facts, they have a separate issue to deal with.

i also had evolution theory taught to me at school but i still reject it and only went by it to have my diploma.

These protests are a result of Muslim fundie Preachers such as Dr Zakir Naik and that Hamza dude who claim the Quran has miricles that were not known to man, excluding the fact that Aristole and galen discovered such mircles 900 years before Islam was born.

Most Muslim doctors I know, are not bothered about evolution, most of them are open to anything that would better their medical knowledge.

What you have is a result of mass brainwashing by Tele-Muslim preachers who flood the internet and media with fairy tales about the Quran invented certain things.

Its truely sad. Knowledge is knowledge, and these Muslim students are protesting because some how they feel the non sense being told by Christian creationist groups and the likes of Harun yahya and Dr Zakir Naik as being truthful when its obviously not.

Muslims should not limit their need for education based on religion. To be a successful and progressive individual, you need to accept views of others.

In this case, I disagree, and I have evidence to back this up. Since they are refusing to go to the lectures, they cannot be aware of what the lectures contain. If they knew what the lectures contained, in detail, then there is no harm in attending the lectures.

They may disagree with evolution, but they cannot know what the lectures contain, simply by understanding evolution. For all they know, the instructors will be addressing their objections.

My biology teacher in school was an atheist as well, but she did not believe in the theory of evolution, as she thought it was unscientific and there wasn't much evidence to support it.
