^ "If it looks like a duck, quack likes a duck, flies like a duck....then what is it? A duck"

You can't even give a straight answer and concede defeat out of your arrogance.

Yes, he agrees that it a mould of clay had been given life!

Now what are the characteristics of life? How does something live if it does not have the properties of a living bird?

You are implying here that the mould looked like a bird but wasnt living?

Then didn't Moses' staff turn into "something which resembeled a snake" but wasn't a snake? It was an illusion? A magic trick?

You are once again showing signs of mental retardation. Seems like you are suffering from a sever mental problem that disallows you from accepting truths. You seem to filter the main crux of every argument to find some way to hide in your delusions.

The muffasir clearly says that it was a bird...meaning it was LIVING.

And that is the point....life out of a mold of clay!

        You can't accept that?

You are not mu'tazali or nothing.

You are just an agnostic confused theist who keeps trying to rationalize materialism into Islamic doctrines.

        Now piss off...

The tafsir is talking about how Jesus actually made a model bird that resembled a living bird and made it move, sort of like a toy.

Mental retardation is the basis for how you operate. And it's demonstrated by the fact you're arguing a document you don't even understand the language to what you're reading. You don't understand arabic at all and probably have no idea what the Tafsiir is saying

I'd be HAPPY to translate it to you; you apparently think the stuff in green is his commentary; but no that's actually the verses themselves; the stuff in black is his commentary where he explains why its not literal. Next time when you debate me ; instead of having me expose you as a dimwit and mentally challenged fool, LEARN THE LANGUAGE of the documents you're debating on.

          you're discarded now, moron.

Wait so you dont believe that the birds were given life by God's leave? I mean what would the miracle of a toy bird be?

I never denied its a miracle but there's many miraculous things in this world. Just life itself is a miracle.

No, I mean im trying to gauge what your view of the event was. Im not saying I am fully cognizant of it either. I am just saying what where the chain of events? When you the ayaah it seems God is pointing out the miracles bestowed on Isa. I mean oragami art impresses me too, but I would hardly see how a toy bird or a clay bird expanding would be something specific God would mention in that ayaah as a miracle. Why would God say: And remember when I taught you a clay version of oragami?

Barakzai you have some legitimate discussions which I would actually be more than happy to explore with you.

But I feel you're giving Achemist an excuse to have a leg up; I'm sure that's not your intention. But I understand everyone here sees Alchemist as the little crippled kid, who needs helping hand, but for now lets let this twirp expose himself. He doesn't understand anything he's citing and he does this a lot.

So just for right now, let Alchemist face this on his own, without enabling him to use you as a springboard.

Sorry wasnt my intention, but I do look forward to at least hearing, if even via the message wall or pm where you feel like general exegesis has gone wrong in the common interpretation.

I know the difference between green and black...

but I know for a fact that your arabic is no more than mines. You grew up most of your life in America.

Whenever you want something translated you have to go ask some arab cousin of yours to do it for you.

So don't get all smart and cocky with me son.

Here is the sentence in question:

                        «إ { فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ } الضمير للكاف، أي في ذلك الشيء المماثل لهيئة الطير { فَيَكُونُ طَيْرًا } فيصير طيراً كسائر الطيور حياً طياراً.

In the first statement he says that (AL Zdameer Lil Kaf cognizant of it's adequacy)- that some thing (Shiyan) that exemplifies (mummatal) the body of (lehiya't) the birds (al t'air).

Second statement ...Fayasero Tairan - So it becomes a bird!

                        THIRD STATEMENTT

                        KASA'R AL TUYOUR HAYAN TAIRAN

Like all FLYING/Winged Birds A Living Bird!

Where in this text did the author ever say that that "It shouldn't be taken literal"?

How is it like a "toy bird" if it is like a LIVING FLYING BIRD?

                        No son...

                        You are just bluffing!

                        AGAIN!

As usual...you are fooling your self.

Your own "exegesis" does not match any Mu'tazalis.

                        Your views are heretical!

As a matter of fact that same aya appears in the Qur'an TWICE!

                        Surah Maida aya 110

                        Altafsir.com - The Tafsirs -

                        Here it is again:

{ كَهَيْئَةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ } هيئة مثل هيئة الطير { بِإِذْنِى } بتسهيلي { فَتَنفُخُ فِيهَا } الضمير للكاف، لأنها صفة الهيئة التي كان يخلقها عيسى عليه السلام وينفخ فيها، ولا يرجع إلى الهيئة المضاف إليها؛ لأنها ليست في خلقه ولا من نفخه في شيء.

A bird like all other birds...

                        Come on son...

                        Who you kidding?

How psychologically messed up do you have to be to be able to deny this?

There is nothing called Mutaziltes. The Mutaziltes was a name Sunnis and Shias gave them. The Mutaziltes are the same as the Koranist in that they only accepted the Koran as a source and not the Sunnah which they believe was fabricated and had sectarian agenda and was not mentioned in the Koran. The Koran never said there was two sources that came to Muhammad.

It was Imam Al Shafi who introduced the cocnept of the Sunnah. He claimed that Muhamamd received two revelations, one was the Koran which was available to the public, the other he called the Sunnah which he claimed was at the hands of a few authorities.

This was how the Sunnis and Shia came along. They have their own sunnah which they believe can abrogate and add and delete the Koran.

Here is Al Shafi presenting his srguments about this other Sunnah. This is from his treatise known as the "Risala"

                          On Legal Knowledge

                          29. Someone asked me: What is [legal] knowledge and how much should men know of it?

                          30. Shafi’i replied:
Legal knowledge is of two kinds: one is for the general public, and no sober and mature person should be ignorant of it.

                          31. He asked: For example?

                          32. [Shafi’i] replied: For example, that the daily prayers are five, that men owe it to God to fast the month of Ramadan, to make the pilgrimage to the [Sacred] House whenever they are able, and to [pay] the legal alms in their estate; that He [God] has prohibited usury, adultery, homicide, theft, [the drinking of] wine, and [everything] of that sort which He has obligated men to comprehend, to perform, to pay in their property, and to abstain from [because] He has forbidden it to them.

This kind of knowledge may be found textually in the Book of God, or may be found generally among the people of Islam. The public relates it from the preceding public and ascribes it to the Apostle of God, nobody ever questioning its ascription or its binding force upon them. It is the kind of knowledge which admits of error neither in its narrative nor in its interpretation; it is not permissible to question it.

                          33.
He asked: What is the second kind?

                          34. Shafi’i replied: It consists of the detailed duties and rules obligatory on men,
concerning which there exists neither a text in the Book of God, nor regarding most of them, a sunna. Whenever a sunna exists [in this case], it is of the kind related by few authorities, not by the public, and is subject to different interpretations arrived at by analogy.

                          35. He asked: Is [legal knowledge on this kind as obligatory as the other, or is it not obligatory so that he who acquires such knowledge performs a supererogatory act, and he who neglects it falls not into error? Or, is there a third kind, derived from a narrative (khabar) or analogy?

                          36.
[Shafi’i] replied: There is a third kind [of knowledge].

                          37. He asked: Will you explain it, give its source, and state what [portion] of it is obligatory, and on whom it is binding and on whom it is not binding?

                          38.
[Shafi’i] replied: The public is incapable of knowing this kind of knowledge, nor can all specialists obtain it. But those who do obtain it should not all neglect it. If some can obtain it, the others are relieved of the duty [of obtaining it]; but those who do obtain it will be rewarded.

This is how the sects emerged in Islam. Prior to l Shafi Muslims only knew and followedthe Koran. All Muslims, including the person asking Al Sjafi these questions were Mutaziltes. The Abbasid dynasty championed the Sunnah over the Koran because the Sunnah gave the ruler absolute authority over the people. That is why all countries ruled by Shariah law are dictatorship and oppressive.

Real Islam is only Koran and Koran is peace.

WHAT IS DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ISLAM AND TODAY'S PRACTICES?
In comparing the teachings of Islam as derived from the Book of God to the practices taught and enforced by the popular Sunni and Shia faiths (1.2 Bn followers), we find that the list is quite extensive, with some of the highlights as follows:
§ In Islam, the requirement to be a Muslim is to simply accept and live according to the ‘Straight Path’ (6:151-153), Vs. the Sunni or Shia 5-pillars which come from unauthorized books…
§ In Islam, abolishing Slavery is taught to be an act of righteousness (90:12-13), Vs. Sunni and Shia teachings which encourages slavery under war…
§ In Islam, women are never forbidden from praying or fasting during Menstruation (2:222), nor is there a specific dress code (i.e. the Headscarf) imposed on them beyond modesty, Vs. the Sunni and Shia which teach the undermining of women and forcing them to cover their hair and avoid praying or fasting at certain times...
§ In Islam, a man or women may leave a Will, after settlement of debt (4:12), Vs. Sunnis who refuse to accept wills if there are any direct descendants...
§ In Islam, Monogamy is the basis for normal relationships, while polygamy is only allowed in cases involving marrying the mothers of orphans under the man’s guardianship (4:3), Vs. Sunnis where a man may be a polygamist simply if he can afford to, and Shia which allow sex for pleasure (Mut’a)...
§ In Islam, Divorce is enforceable only after a waiting period, and it may be made nullified if the couple reconcile before the end of this period (65:1, 65:4), Vs. Sunni teachings that destroy families by allowing a divorce to occur on the spot with no waiting period and no nullification...
§ In Islam, Thieves do not have their hands cut-off, but are made to work until they return that which is stolen (12:76), Vs. Sunni and Shia teachings which brutally amputate the hands causing disability...
§ In Islam, no one is allowed to be killed or Stoned for adultery (24:2), Vs. Sunni and Shia laws of stoning married adulterers to death...
§ In Islam, absolute Freedom of Faith is allowed (2:256, 10:99; 18:29; 88:21-22), Vs. Sunni and Shia requiring apostates to be killed and rejecting the practice of other faiths...
§ In Islam, people are acknowledged as being diverse and each is to be respected for his/her level of spiritual growth. A Submitter ‘Muslim’ must work to attain the status of Faithful ‘Mumin’ (49:14), Vs. Sunni and Shia teachings that all followers of their religion must think, act, and even look the same (cult syndrome)...
§ In Islam, War can only be declared in cases of self-defence - no offensives (2:190), Vs. Sunni and Shia teachings allowing raids and attacks on any people who are considered non-Muslim by their standards...
§ In Islam, Pilgrimage is a centre for gathering of nations and for all to witness the benefits of being together (22:27-28), Vs. Sunni and Shia bringing in polytheistic rituals and superstition (touching of black stone, circling 7 times, etc..)...
§ In Islam, a Year is a luni-solar count made of 365-days (17:12, 9:36), with all the seasons fitting-in-place Vs. Sunnis teaching it to be a lunar one based on 354 days which creates confusion of seasons and time…
§ In Islam, males and females are not required to be Circumcised (32:7), Vs. Sunni and Shia teachings requiring all males to be circumcised and females in some cases...
§ In Islam, music, statues, gold and silk are all Lawful(7:32-33, 16:116), Vs. Sunni beliefs forbidding silk & gold for men, and forbidding music & statues for all...
§ In Islam, rule of Government is under the constitution of the Qur'an through consultation and free-speech (5:48, 42:38). Vs. Sunni teachings which allow the rise of dictators or monarchs, and Shia teachings which uphold self-appointed religious leaders based on genealogy.
Therefore, the clearest difference is that Islam is a monotheistic, clear, consistent, dynamic, progressive, balanced system...a system that eliminates conjectures, hearsay, fairy tales and contradictions...therefore it eliminates hardship, confusion, chaos, and division. It is a system which puts more accent on the usage of intellect, reason, pondering over God, His Creation, meaning of life, pondering over everything...While the sects represent superstition, unfair treatment for non-cult members, inequality of the sexes, oppression of human rights, inability to contribute to human progress, amputations or physical violence, regression of ideas and thoughts to primitive levels of barbarism, and most importantly setting-up partners with the One True God and thus promoting polytheism.

Shafi (rah) is a human as like you and me and not the Messenger of Allah,he did not introduce Sunnah you are wrong.

Sunnah means translated from Arabic into English > "Tradition" , we are following the best Tradition of all , from the very person who was the greatest among the human and there is no better from Adam (as) to the judgement day that will come.

Peace and blessing of Allah on our master Muhammad.

Shia Rafidah (Shia rejectionists ) they rejected Abu Bakr (rad) and Umar (rad),because they rejected them the most closest to the Prophet (pbuh),they are called recjtionists).

Mutazilah ( as the name is mut'ah= prostitution / timelimited marriage),they themselves have created their own version of islam, they are as the shias far away from the Message, with which Muhammad (pbuh) was sent.
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

but I know for a fact that your arabic is no more than mines. You grew up most of your life in America.

Whenever you want something translated you have to go ask some arab cousin of yours to do it for you.

So don't get all smart and cocky with me son.

Here is the sentence in question:

In the first statement he says that (AL Zdameer Lil Kaf cognizant of it's adequacy)- that some thing (Shiyan) that exemplifies (mummatal) the body of (lehiya't) the birds (al t'air).

Second statement ...Fayasero Tairan - So it becomes a bird!

wrong fa yasero, comes from the word "sawara" which means to form or shape, like the name of Allah (swt) Al- Sawir, it means "fa yasero" means " so he makes it into the shape of a bird. Mumthal does not mean "exemplifies"; it means resembling from the word Mathala, which means "to bear likeness to". so it's saying it is SIMILAR, you can even see this in the Qanun Al 'Arabiyah. Your Arabic is terrible. Moving on.

                              THIRD STATEMENTT

                              KASA'R AL TUYOUR HAYAN TAIRAN

Like all FLYING/Winged Birds A Living Bird!
This means the WINGS OF BIRDS, not "Winged Birds" , When read properly it says "The wings of birds like that of a living bird" Your interpretation of the third statement becomes nullified by your mistranslation. NO WHERE in Any Arabic lexicon does "sawarah" (to form/shape) mean "kana" (to become)

                              .

                              You are just bluffing!
No not bluffing you plainly don't know Arabic; and hence mistranslated ""kas'ar al tuyar" as " tuyar makas'ur" in other words your arabic understanding is poor.

Your own "exegesis" does not match any Mu'tazalis.
More like your deliberate mistranslation.I dare you to translate the entire Tafsir word for word on this verse; and I will too, we'll compare which one matches the Arabic language closely, deal?

                              Your views are heretical!
More like you don't understand Arabic as your horrible translations demonstrated.

As a matter of fact that same aya appears in the Qur'an TWICE!
And as expected , you made the same error TWICE. read further

                              Here it is again:

{ كَهَيْئَةِ ٱلطَّيْرِ } هيئة مثل هيئة الطير { بِإِذْنِى } بتسهيلي { فَتَنفُخُ فِيهَا } الضمير للكاف، لأنها صفة الهيئة التي كان يخلقها عيسى عليه السلام وينفخ فيها، ولا يرجع إلى الهيئة المضاف إليها؛ لأنها ليست في خلقه ولا من نفخه في شيء.

A bird like all other birds...
No it means "a body bearing likeness to the body of the birds". you ignored the word هيئة , that changes the entire meaning of the sentence entirely. Which tells me you don't understand what youre reading. If Zamakhshari wanted to say they were the same as birds he would have said " huwa manfous al tayir" not "mathal"

How psychologically messed up do you have to be to be able to deny this?
By being learned on the subject enough to identify when you're making severe errors and misunderstandings of the meanings of words and also your inability to understand words which you failed to translate. But wait they call that Having a functioning brain; So that would mean it's your mental handicap and defects which would be closer to "psychologically messed up" Next time instead of groveling for 8 hours and spending your nights awake to POORLY translate a language you don't know. Learn the Language. Talk about psychologically damaged.

The Mutaziltes are the same as the Koranist in that they only accepted the Koran as a source and not the Sunnah which they believe was fabricated and had sectarian agenda and was not mentioned in the Koran. The Koran never said there was two sources that came to Muhammad.[

This is partially false; the Mu'taziliyeen use the 6 Sahih Traditions of ahadith; albeit their logical hermeneutics differs in matters of Theology than contemporary Sunnis.

You're right, the name "mu'tazilah" is an externally applied name. The actual name that we use is "Ahl Al Tawhid wal 'Adl", but that's a bit long to say so for convenience we just go along with Mu'tazilah.

There were many reknowned Mu'tazilah Jurists from the Hanafi and Shafi'i Schools of Jurisprudence.
