    We agree on something, wow.

I wasnt suggesting that having a purpose in life, whatever it may be, accentuates Gods existence. I was in fact saying, that we are aware of his existence, thus the purpose.

How are you aware of his existence if he does not exist in the first place?

Purpose has nothing to do with his existence or non existence as I told earlier.Athiest also have purpose of life and more serious one as they also do not believe in any life in the grave,as you can imagine.

To cut a long story short, Pir_Rokhan, do you believe in His exitstence?

Just curious...what do they believe as their purpose in life? Any athiest feel free to answer.

Life without God is like living without breathing...of course that's just my opinion..

If you have made up your mind that you feel the need to question His existence, then, I feel convincing you is like putting cows milk back through its teats. Youre pulling questions that I have already answered. I dont like repeating myself.

Lets get simple. I believe God exists, for many reasons, you may call them 'my' reasons. And His existence is my lifes purpose. I wake up with His name, sleep to His Speech. And to seek His Pleasure is my ultimate aim. Full stop.

You have your beliefs, I, mine. If we cant come to common terms, its futile arguing.

You asked my belief. I would like to take a rain check to this question, opting not to answer.

Athiest have a ariety of purposes in life, depending upon their field of speciality, all aiming at contributing to the human knowledge and having a better society in the world - a heaven on earth.

If god to life is like breating/oxygen to life then all thiest should have already died and would not have lived in the past.

                Fair enough.

Lol, I think you missed my point - I didn't mean literally wror.

So much could be said on this topic, but I think everyone here has already made their mind up as to what they believe. So all I will say for now is each to their own.

No, I think we're misunderstanding Pir Rokhan's point here. It's not the "To you be your beliefs, to me be mine" typa thingie, which pretty much means, "Let's just not talk about this." I mean, we CAN talk about this -- and it's all voluntary; no one should feel obligated to say anything here at all if she/he doesn't feel comfortable doing so. But I think it's crucial that we be able to defend our belief in God (it's crucial to me; it doesn't have to be to everyone else).

Also, I don't think that debating/arguing has to always come to "common terms." Why does it have to? Doesn't that mean one side has to submit to the beliefs of the other side, or be convinced by it?

And as for the response of "it's faith" to the question of God ... I don't think we should rely on that. Why? Because "faith" can be the answer to ANYTHING. When Muslims claim they've discovered some scientific discrepancies in the Bible, some of us go, "OMG! How can ANYONE accept that religion then?! OBVIOUSLY, Islam is the right religion, since it's FULL of Science! SubhanAllah! All anyone has to do is read the Quran!" etc.,etc. They don't realize that just as they use the reason of "faith" to defend their belief in God, the non-Muslims whose books are supposedly filled with scientific "mistakes" ALSO believe that their belief in their religion/God is a matter of faith and faith alone and that they need nothing else to "prove" their belief.

Similarly, Hindus can simply say, "How dare you call the Gods/Goddesses I worship 'mere idols'?! They're our GODS! They mean EVERYTHING to us; they're the REASON we live; they're the first thing we think of in the morning and the last thing we pray to before we sleep. This is faith. And it's OUR faith. And it's important to us."

So, if we're really gonna say, "It's a matter of faith," when we're questioned why we believe in God, we should also remember that ALL people are on the right path then because for them, just like for us, faith is simply that important. It's "faith" that guides us towards whatever Path we've chosen, or whatever Path that has been chosen for us by our elders/parents/scholars/whoever.

                      Re: Does God exist ?

I think we need to define God. What is "God"? Is it a Being or a Concept... or both or neither? Can we call God an "It" or is it always a "He"? Because God is often referred to as a "He," what will happen if someone referred to God as a "She"? Will it be a sin? And why or why not?

So, yeah, only once we've defined it can we really decide if God exists or not.

Pir Rokhan, I'm interested in your definition of God. How do you define God if God exists, and how do you define Him if He doens't exist?

Marey, come on, kana That's besides the point. I mean, if I come here and said, "I wanna know why you believe in God or why you don't. So I'm going to pretend to be an atheist, and you're going to be a theist. You'll support God's existence, and I'll oppose it. OR I can pretend to be the theist and you be the atheist, and let's try to see where we get," I wouldn't consider it relevant whether either of us is in REALITY an atheist or a theist.

It's that ... we need to know why we are NOT atheists, if we're not, and we need to know why we ARE theists. It's supposed to be help strengthen a God-believer's faith, I'd think, but it's not compulsory; no one needs to fully understand atheist views -- some of us might not be strong in our belief and faith and might fall for the atheist view, who knows.
