It doesn´t object the content of the discussion. I just feel uncomfortable when I answer your comments while looking at a guy who sits like an old fag in shorts. That picture is really inappropiate, specially when we discuss ethics.

What you are trying to do, which is rather obvious is to say:
If you believe in stoning, for any reason, well, then you are doing exactly what persons, X,Y, and Z have done if they are Taliban.

It is the same as saying: What do you think of guns? And then instead of showing a hunter, or a sportsman, showing a thug shooting an old woman to allow veiwers to make the blanket judgement that all guns are used to kill old wmen.

However, you should be forced, instead of anyone else, to expound on your position.

What do you think of stoning?
What do you think of the electric chair for that matter or lethal injection?
What do you think of the fact that the Prophet Muhammad had in fact executed such punishments on people?
What do you think of the fact that in the era of the early Caliphs, this continued to be the de facto punishment for adultery?

For that matter, what do you think of the American Death Penalty when it goes awry? Of the wrongful death of Cameron Todd Willingham under the American Penal Code?

Generally, your commentary attempts to insinuate links between Islamic Penal Codes and Barbarism. If that is the case, then why call yourself a Muslim?

For instance, if Benazir Bhutto clearly thinks that cutting the hand is barbaric in any circumstance, then she needs to discuss her faith in light of the Quranic verses that indicate that being the punishment.

So once again, you are attempting to lay the foundation for an argument that goes something like this: ANYONE, anyone, even the Prophet himself is a Talib --> A Talib is Jahel (as if the Northern Alliance Members were saints and Einsteins) ---> Therefore Islamic Law and Jurispredence is Jahil --> Unless it agrees with your paradigm.

If this is the case, you need to comment on
A) The fact that American Law has resulted in, at times, rights being denied to some, as well as barbarism in the case of folks like Cameron Todd Willingham

B) Your view on where and when Islamic jurisprudence comes into play: For instance, when does it become legitimate to cut the hand? We know that Caliph Omar delineated when it is not... but someone like say, Bernie Madoff, where he a Muslim, in a shariah law state, would almost certainly be subjected to this punishment based on QURANIC verses... not the usual copout of such laws being purely hadith derived.

And save me the ridiculous retort of: Come liver under it etc. This is not a discussion of who lives under what. Its a discussion of what YOU and I think of stoning in the context of our faith. So lets have at it.
