    Title: Terminologies of Islam

    1. Fard: Obligotory/Mandatory. It is an order from Allah which is proved by the Quran and Sunnah with clear wordings. Anyone who rejects Fard is considered as a Kafir. If you leave any Fard action you will be Punished.

There are two types of Fard:

Fard Aain: Everyone has to perform.

    Ex: Jummah Salaat

Fard Kifaya: If one or few people do it they will fill the requirement for the whole town. If no one does it then they are all considered as sinners.

    Ex: Salaatul-Janazah

    2. Wajib: Has evidence from the Quran and Sunnah. Rejecting Wajib without strong excuse will make you a Fasiq (Someone who violates the law). You will be punished.

    Ex: Wudu, Salaat

    3. Sunnah: There are two types of Sunnah

Sunnah Muakidah: The action which has been done by the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). This is what he has told us to do and never miss without excuse. The person that misses it will be sinful.

Sunnah Ghair Muakidah: Actions often done by Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). To leave Sunnah Ghair Muakidah the person will not be sinful.

    4. Mustahab: If you do it you will get reward, but if you miss it there will be no punishment.

    5. Makrooh Tahreemi: It earns a person reward to abandon makruh tahrimi. If it is committed, punishment in the hereafter is possible.

    6. Makrooh Tanzihi: You will not be tortured but abandoning it has its awards.

    7. Haram: Forbidden by Allah (S.W.T). It has clear wording from the Quran. A person who rejects haram is kafir and will receive severe Punishment.

    8. Mubah: THere is no reward nor is there punishment if you do things under the Mubah category.

          2. Passing out air.
          3. If blood or Pus comes out from the wound and it spreads.
          4. Vomiting equal to the size of your mouth.
          5. Falling asleep while leaning on the wall, etc.
          6. Losing conscious due to any type of Drugs.
          7. Fainting.
          8. Insanity.
          9. Laughing in Salaat so loud that your neighbor hears or sees your teeth.
Those are the things I, and many others around me, grew up learning and implemented quite strictly, until I came across this a while ago when it was issued on IslamQA:

Shaykh Ibn ‘Uthaymeen (may Allaah have mercy on him) was asked: Does whatever comes out of anything other than the front and back passages invalidate wudoo’?

          He replied:

What comes out of anything other than the front and back passages does not invalidate wudoo’, whether it is a little or a lot, except urine and stools. That is because the basic principle is that it does not invalidate wudoo’. Whoever claims something that is contrary to the basic principle has to provide evidence, but it is proven that man is taahir by the shar’i evidence, and whatever is proven by the shar’i evidence cannot be altered except by further shar’i evidence. We do not go beyond what is indicated by the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), because we submit to the laws of Allaah, not to our whims and desires. So there is no justification for making people purify themselves when it is not essential and we do not waive from them a purification that is obligatory.

If someone were to say that it is narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) vomited then did wudoo’, we say: this hadeeth has been classed as da’eef by most of the scholars. Then we say that this is simply an action, and the fact that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) simply did an action does not indicate that it is obligatory, because there is no clear instruction. Moreover it is contradicted by another hadeeth – even if it is da’eef – which says that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was treated with cupping then he prayed and did not do wudoo’. This indicates that it is not obligatory to do wudoo’ after vomiting.

This is the correct view, that whatever comes out from the body does not invalidate wudoo’ even if it is a lot, whether it is vomit, saliva, blood, pus or anything else, unless it is urine or stools, such as if an opening is made in the body to let them out, in which case wudoo’ is invalidated when they come out from that opening.

What brother Gangster reported is correct according to our (Hanafi) madhhab. The following is part of an answer at SunniPath.com:

            3. Vomit that is a mouthful, such that one would not have been able to keep it in without difficulty, except if it is just phlegm. Vomit that is from the same motion (ghathayan) is considered together when determining whether it is a mouthful or not. (Wudu: How is it invalidated?)
Islam-qa is full of incorrect answers and should not be relied upon.

But that is only one of the many views, right? Who is to say of its accuracy.

That vomit is impure is the view of the majority of scholars. That fact is mentioned in another answer at islam-qa, but they still answer according to the minority position.

Yes, the view of the majority of the Hanafi's and Hanbali's. However, the basic principle is that all things are pure and cannot be categorised as impure unless there is valid and authentic evidence to deem it otherwise.

This is the problem with this and similar sites and the method they propagate. What is "valid and authentic" evidence? What are the sources of the Shari`a? Why should we blindly assume with islam-qa that the majority of scholars do not have "valid and authentic" evidence? Simply citing a hadith does not undo 1400 years of scholarship. All the madhhabs have their methodologies and their evidences. Analyzing evidence and deducing rulings is the job of mujtahid scholars, not laymen. Laymen follow madhhabs.

                              Sunnahs Of Waking Up.

Know what we can get the reward of FIVE sunnahs by doing some small acts as soon as we open our eyes SubhanAllah ♥

1- WIPE THE EFFECTS OF SLEEP FROM YOUR FACE WITH YOUR HANDS

Imam An-Nawawee and Ibn Hajar stated this wiping to be desirable based on the following:

When the Messenger of Allah woke up,He would sit up and rub away the effects of sleep from His face with His hand.
Al-Bukhari, The Book Of Ablution, Hadeeth no. 183

2- SAY THE SUPLICATION FOR WAKING UP:

                              الحَمْـدُ لِلّهِ الّذي أَحْـيانا بَعْـدَ ما أَماتَـنا وَإليه النُّـشور. [البخاري مع الفتح 11/ 113 ومسلم 4/ 2083]
Alhamdu lillahil-lathee ahyana baAAda ma amatana wa-ilayhin-nushoor.
‘All praise is for Allah who gave us life after having taken it from us and unto Him is the resurrection.’

Al-Bukhari, The Book Of Invocations, Hadeeth no. 6312

                              3- USE A SIWAAK:

When the Prophet woke up from the sleep, He used to clean His mouth with a siwaak.

Muslim, The Book Of Purification, Hadeeth no. 255

                              4- SNUFF WATER:

When one of you wakes up from sleep, then snuff water three times. For indeed, shaytaan spends the night in the upper part of his nose.

Muslim, The Book Of Purification, Hadeeth no. 245

5- WASH BOTH HANDS THREE TIMES:

When one of you wakes up from sleep, he must not dip his hand into a utensil until he washen it three times.

Muslim, The Book Of Purification, Hadeeth no. 278
