^whenever i read pashtoonkhwa pashtoons, i wonder where do u guys get your general knowledge from... especially about pashtoons and pashtoon history; because its not like its taught in ur curriculum in schools... pakistanis will never let that happen... then i realize oh yeah... i know where... they get their pashtoon history 101 from their own stomach...

All of you really need these 3 things...

        1. Courses on pashtoon/afghan history and history of afghanistan.
        2. A visit to afghanistan, where you at least spend more than 1 year living inside afghanistan with afghans.
        3. a remedy / treatment for your brainwashed minds... (brainwashed by pakistani media and education of course).

the above two MIGHT help the 3rd one... but in most cases u guy's posts are really discouraging...

I do pray and hope that you guys don't represent the majority of pashtoons in pashtoonkhwa..... i hope! because this whole UNITY thing is not really acheivable with such people.

There is no need to visit afghanistan to study pashtuns and afghanistan. In peshawer public library there is large number of books about pashtuns and afghanistan in urdu, pashto and english langauges.
You are right there is gap between pashtuns in two countries which can be lessened if the influence of both desified and persianised pashtuns is finished or diminished, both groups are hurdle in unity.

Why is it then when discussing such a simple topic about where to palce a capital has turned into x area is persianized and y area is desi? You all do understand that once you gain sovreignty you have the option and the will to reverse those changes? It is as if you all have given up on your own regions. I.e. o kabul is persianzed screw them..or peshawar is too desi, aahh we don't want it, etc etc etc.

You pick a capital on a different criteria, if it meets it great. If not then find something else. Ideas like persianization or desized can be reversed once you gain the right amount of sovereignty. Since some members want to justify some petty idea they are diverting things.

Sholambay you are over-obsessed with kandahar and you are in superiority complex. What if a kandahari had invaded and plundered iran? Sher shah suri was not kandahari nor were bahlol lodhi or illiwudin khilji.
Because of wazirs, mahsuds, orakzais and afridis, british were limited to pakhtunkhwa and kept them away in attacking afghanistan. Mahsuds alone have killed thousands of british. Should i assume that mahsuds are superior than kandaharis? No
one should be proudful of his tribe but it should not become superiority complex.
You had opened thread "learn kandhari pashto" and you embarassed yourself there as 50% of your pashto had dari words.

^ You know, it's funny when you talk of 'Persianised Pukhtoons' because at least 90% of Dari speaking Pukhtoons I met love their identity and are trying their level best to get back to Pukhto. But how come I never hear any Urdufied Pukhtoon trying to get back to his 'roots'?

You couldn't even fight yourself out of the referendum because Pakistan and India (who have been under British slavery for centuries) didn't give you that option, and you seriously believe to have ousted their rulers!?

Don't be appologetic! Come on and put up if you are not talking out of your stomach. When I am putting up this post, I am in the centre of my library, having all imaginable material on Khushal Baba. If you have any thing of that sort, share it with us.
---and look, it is for your info, khore! The best work on Pashto literature ever carried,is accredited to the Pakhtun scholars on this side of the Line. We have more PhDs in Pashto literature than yours. The great appostles of Pashto poetry, like Pir Rokhan, Arzani khueshki,Ali mohammad mokhlis,Akhun Darveza baba, Roshanide poets, Rehman baba, Khushal Baba, Ali Khan Baba, Hameed Baba Mashokhai, Abdul Qadar Khattak, Sheda, Hamza Baba, Qalandar, Ghani Khan, Ajmal Khattak etc, etc, etc, dwelled on our territory. So don't ever imagine we are destitute in our language. Yes, I confess our langauge is subjugated here by Urdu but you also suffer from the same desease there due to Farsi hegemony. You should feel more shame as you constitute a majority there in a " free country" and we are struggling as a minority in " slavery".

Be fair and mention the others as well...I mean within Pashtunkhwa tajiks aren't after language as much as the pathans like nighat orakzai, amir muqam, safiullah marwat.

Pashtuns in general have relegated themselves to uselessness for their own state and basically free service for others. I am really enjoying on some pashtuns on both sides are justifying their coma like state. No really all of you continue. Lolzz some even turned a discussion about a capital city into 'vs" thread. Good work.

Same here. Pretty much every young Pukhtoon who speaks Dari as his first language I came across is striving for Pukhto and knowledge of Pukhtoon culture. While all I see the Desified Pukhtoons do is take pride in being a 'Pathan' in order to earn respect, they don't even care what being a 'Pathan' even means!

No we don't. In an Tajik dominated area Dari is dominating, in an Pukhtoon dominated area Pukhto is dominating while in Pakhtunkhwa (an Pukhtoon dominated area) Urdu is dominating; Why aren't you willing to open you eyes to such facts?

What free country? A country dominated by over 40 NATO countries who are favorers of Tajiks, plus encouragement by Tajikistanis and Iranians to promote their language Dari in Afghanistan even further while only encouragement we got from Pakhtunkhwa were Mujahideen and Taliban? And if you are talking about our 'freedom'of centuries back, then try to remember that even Pakhtunkhwa was a part of Afghanistan once in a time; What did Pakhtunkhwa do Pukhto back then, ha?

They are sell out, so called Pakhtuns, and do not represent the general Pakhtun masses. The Pakhtun history is replete with such " sold commodities".We do not own them and we should not be ridiculed for them. Btw do you own Bacha Saqa?, he ruled you once . There were Pashtuns who fought for Babar against Pakhtun rulers. Do you feel they are in your fold?.

I agree with you, wrora! It is the greatest malady of Pakhtuns. It is because we lack sincere Pakhtun national leadership and that we are unaware of our national destiny and goal.
