  • Hazarewal Province

The Hindkowans of NWFP have been demanding a separate province of theirs for some time, a demand which intensified after NWFP’s name was changed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The movement is led by Sardar Haider Zaman. He seems like a very honest and straightforward politician. After listening to some of his interviews I became convinced that the Hindkowans deserve their own province in the Hazara division. Pakistan desperately needs to divide up its large provinces into more numerous and manageable ones. Provinces should also be organized along ethno-linguistic lines. For example, the Pakhtun areas of northern Baluchistan, FATA, and Pakhtunkhwa could be amalgamated into a single province, or perhaps two provinces (North Pakhtunkhwa and South Pakhtunkhwa). The Punjab should be divided into at least three provinces, including a Saraiki province in the south which would include Dera Ismail Khan and have Multan as its capital. Sindh should be divided to create a province for the Urdu-speaking people based in Karachi and Hyderabad. If a Hazarewal province is too small, perhaps it can be amalgamated with a province carved out of northern Punjab where the Pahari/Potwari dialect of Punjabi is spoken based in Attock or with Rawalpindi as its capital, and also including Chitral and Kohistan and all other predominantly non-Pakhtun areas of north and northwest NWFP.

At present, 25% of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is non-Pakhtun, including 18% Hindkowans. Dera Ismail Khan district is predominantly Saraiki but strangely part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa instead of Punjab. The provinces definitely have to be redrawn.

provinces should be redone but no one has yet to seriously support this notion, all the big politicians that could actually bring this to light dont seem to care about it

Resolutions for new provinces get passed in the legislatures from time to time, but nothing seems to happen beyond that. Too many vested interests and no one really thinks about the overall good of the country.

I don’t think Punjab would want to be split in three.

You mean Lahore doesn't want Punjab to be split up. The rest of the province are tired of Lahori domination. The Saraikis in the South definitely want their own province. Although mother's side of my family originate from Tehsil Batala in Majha Punjab and we speak Majha (Standard) Punjabi, nevertheless we settled in Multan and most of my friends there were Saraikis, so I am more sympathetic to them than the Jatts of Majha Punjab.

            Why Hazara? Why not Hindki?
The first time a Hindki person told a group of friends that he was Hazarewal, I was confused as f uck,,, but passed it of as whatever...

            TL;DR Hazara =/= Hindko

The name of the area is Hazara division. The etymology of that name has its own history or scholarly dispute.

              Hazara, Pakistan - Wikipedia

The Hindko language they speak is more or less a dialect of Punjabi. The name Hindko, Hindki, Hindkowan was given to them by the Iranians. Wan is the same suffix from Parsiwan if I'm not mistaken.

Hindkowan literally means "Indian Speaking" in Pashto or Farsi...

So this is implying that Pashtuns or Iranians are calling them Indian because Punjab and Sindh and the urdu speaking mohajir community are Indians, and they (Pashtuns and iranians) are not

they changed this to hazarawal just to cover up and hide facts, to make the durrand line seem more believable.

The Durand line is a reality, sooner it is accepted in the hearts and minds, the better. The only scenario in which this line vanishes is if Afghanistan one day decides to join the Islamic project of Pakistan and leave off the meaningless and hollow nationalism.

From what I remember reading of history, the Hindkowans were among the most zealous supporters of the Pakistan movement, and their votes contributed to a Muslim League government and subsequently NWFP becoming part of Pakistan. These are people that historically have been very loyal to the cause of Islam, unlike the despicable nationalist "Frontier Gandhi"

This topic should serve as proof that this dirty Qadiani rat is actually just a Punjabi nationalist, or Pashtun hater, rather than a loyalist to Islam as he keeps claiming (not that a follower of a false prophet could ever be taken seriously as a strict Muslim anyway lol).

Notice how he basically wants to cut up KP and add parts of it to Punjab. Even Chitral and Kohistan, even though those people have nothing to do with Punjabis. Guess he found some pictures of Kalash women and wants to "integrate" with them.

His justification is that people don't want to be dominated by other ethnicities, but he never stops to think about everyone else feels about the Punjabi domination of Pakistan. Nobody else matters as long as Punjabis have all the power.

This stupid donkey praises Pakistan so much, while Pakistan requires anyone applying for a passport to declare him and his Persian-wannabe false prophet as kuffar. Can you get any more shameless than that? Zhul-Khar, your "Islamic project" doesn't want anything to do with you or your kind. Pakistan considers "frontier Ghandi" a Muslim, and you a filthy kafir. How does that make you feel?

I've seen photos of the Kalash and to be honest I don't find them attractive at all. I find your Mongol Hazaras to be a very beautiful innocent looking people. Would gladly trade our Kalashas for your Hazaras.

Besides I'm not some brown Punjabi guy that gets excited at the rare sight of a blond white person. Hello...I was born and live in Canada, I'm surrounded by White people. They aren't some exotic creature for me. In fact I find most of them to look bland. They have those small beady eyes, thinning hair, razor thin lips, and too pale and pasty for my taste.

I'm not a Punjabi nationalist either. You keep trying to think of Punjabis as being like you. We are the least nationalist people. We have no interest in nationalism. Punjabis have never thought of themselves as a nation even before Pakistan was created. We were either Jatts, Gujjars, Arrains, Rajputs, etc. The only people who think of themselves as Punjabi and are proud of their Punjabi heritage are the Sikhs, our mortal enemies.

Punjabis don't dominate Pakistan either. Pakistan has historically been dominated by secularist Pathans like Ayyub Khan and Yahya Khan. The earliest leaders in the 1950s were Muhajirs and Bengalis. Bhutto was Sindhi. Pakistan has never been dominated by one ethnic group, unlike Afghanistan which is dominated by Pashtuns (Karzai, Ashraf Ghani, Abdullah Abdullah).

Finally, I've also made quite clear that I am not a Pakistani nationalist. I oppose the present Pakistani state and the road it is going down. I only support the original idea of Pakistan as an Islamic state with Islam as the basis of its identity and statehood. Hence, I support the concept of Pakistan and the 2 nation theory, not the Pakistani State as it tragically came to be, a state dominated by irreligious, corrupt feudalists and generals.

But even more than that I oppose leftism and ethnic nationalism of the Pakhtuns, Baloch and Sindhis. I prefer corrupt feudal establishment to a leftist cum nationalist like the ANP and PPP. Feelings of ethnic nationalism have declined considerably among the Pakhtuns, who have generally become more Islamic and conservative. But the renaming of Sarhad as "Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" revealed a wrong trend of going back to ethnic based politics. Once this has happened, then one cannot help but feel sympathy for non-Pakhtuns who want to have their own province fearing Pakhtun domination. I have voiced similar support for the Saraikis of south Punjab who want to be free of Lahori domination, and the Muhajirs of urban Sindh who want to be free of ethnic Sindhi domination manifested in the rule of a leftist party like the PPP.

he's trying to obfuscate, I'd urge a banning for him since he's clearly a troll, but it's amusing to watch him slowly devolve lol.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Oh ok I see a pattern here, when Pashtuns want their own province then you're looking out for the ethnic struggles of others, but if Pashtuns don't care about their identity than you're happy to see everyone diluted in the melting pot.

very revealing ....maybe we need to start euthanizing your kind. Too long religious charlatans hijack faith to undermine people's cultures.

This Hindu cow piss drinker kanishka, who just insulted our Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and our Religion, is getting a free ride here but you guys want to ban and attack me. Ma sha Allah very good. If this is what your Pashtun nationalism is all about then keep it. I will never compromise on the Honor of my beloved Prophet (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) even if the whole world turned their backs on him.
