you know most Pashtuns are such people i disagree with . I disagree with them because they consider themselves Pakistani like that one named toughpashtun. I am like oil and water with them. Ofcourse , it doesn't end there with being pakistani, there's other things to like having their kids do child labor, giving away their daughters, islamic fundamentalism and all the sorts of things. Even most of my family are gul khans or islamic fundamentalists and many but not all had married with punjabis/mohajirs

i hadn't hung out or mixed with Pashtuns much, I prefer pure Pashto names, Shah is persian and its just a foreign name... i dislike arab, persian, turkish and urdu names Pashto names which had a steep decline in use by Pashtuns , that one Pashtun girl named Obal Qarrata or something had blogged about it once !

but yeah, we'll see what the future holds
    I am gone...

    farewell

        That's definitely kanishka.

Any time someone says give xyz part of kpk to Punjab, it seems like an afghan trying to push their agenda.

What agenda would an Afghan have in taking parts of KP and making them Punjab? I can’t think of any reason why an Afghan would care. The only guys recommending it here are Pakistanis.

Exactly Shah gul ...Shah Koko ....call a guy this kind of stuff and he;'ll punch you. He's just going to "adapt" this new information though and start using it ad-nauseam the same way he started spitting out "gul khan" after Samandri used it.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Isn't Shah Gul a male name?
I think Gulshah is a female name!

Every time I hear an idiot Paki nationalist talk about how every part of Pakistan and every culture in Pakistan belongs to them, I want to slap them. These fools have such a shaky, manufactured sense of national identity. Not surprising when Pakistan was defined by two Brits with no regard for ethnic or cultural cohesion.

The best part is that now even non-Pashtun Pakistanis refer to us as Pashtun/Pakhtun and not as Pathan.
Gul Khans themselves are Pashto speaking and don't call themselves Pathan.

                      • The Hindko areas (Haripur, Abbotabad and Mansehra) lie east of Indus and historically they were part of Lahore (Punjab) province of Mughals, not Kabul (which included Pakhtunkhwa). Mughals had built military stations on the east side of river Indus to prevent the incursions of Pashtun marauders into Lahore province. On various occasions Pashtuns tried to raid and occupy Hazara, Attock and Mianwali (its portion on east side of Indus) in 16th and 17th century but were repelled by the Mughal army stationed on the boundry. It was only after the decline of Mughal power in 18th century that Pashtun clans were able to occupy areas on the east side of Indus. For Mughals, river Indus was the natural boundary between Punjab and Afghanistan. Interestingly Pashtun areas of Hazara division ,Torghar and Batagram, lie west of Indus. It was because of British that three Hindko/Punjabi Tehsils ended up in NWFP. Now hardcore Afghanistani nationalists claim area up to river Jehlum but thats just to irk Punjabis. Or perhaps its the same stupidity/greed when they claim entire Baluchistan up to the shores of Arabian sea.

The Hazara movement failed from the get go because its Pashtun population (proper Pashto speaking ones) did not back them and even refused to allow entrance of Subah-Hazara movement leaders into their areas. Kohistan, largest district of Hazara area-wise, is also against Hazara subah. A province can not be made from two and half districts. Either Hindkowans should join their fatherland Punjab or should shut up and be part of KPK.

a lot of hardcore pakistani nationalists (usually unislamic types ironically) seem to think that the current provinces are some ancient ethnic boundaries that have existed for centuries and even get disgruntled if you point out that hindkis from kpk are not "pathans" or that pashtuns from balochistan are not baloch. regarding hindowan areas i think mansehra, abbottabad, and haripur should just be given to punjab, they cause more harm than good to us.

                          • I think we should have a clean dividing line with Punjab along the Indus River to settle the Hazara dispute. The Hazara region has Pashtuns, especially in the western part and it makes no sense to abandon them. The Hazara division can be divided, it doesn't need to stay intact. Give the Hazara regions (which are mostly Hindko speaking) that are east of the Indus River to Punjab and let KPK keep the rest.

Abassin Division comprising of Toorghar, Ogai, Battagram, Shangla and Kohistan has also been proposed in some quarters, which is an achievable objective.
