  • Baluchistan Interior minister threaten to expel Afghan refugees by force

Afghan refugees asked to leave as Pak forces arrest six NDS terrorists | Pakistan | thenews.com.pk

He is saying "that Afghan refugees should leave Balochistan otherwise "Balochs" will forcibly remove them.

This Sarfraz Bugti is an agent of ISI, a turd known for being traitor to Bugti tribe and licks the boots of faujis. And it seems he is on some agenda, trying to fuel ethnic tension with Pashtuns of Balochistan. That being said almost all Baloch separatists have also same views about Afghan refugees and those suspected to be "Illegal Afghan settlers" (Tens of thousands of Ghilzai nomads settled in Balochistan in 19th century who had British Indian citizenship and have Pakistani citizenship from the begining, Baloch count them as "illegal settlers"). This statement will restore some of Sarfraz lost dignity in the eyes of Balochs, it will appeal to them

Just to clarify, who is he refering to by saying Afghan refugees. Those who came after the creation of Pakistan or before the creation of Pakistan? I do agree that recent Afghan refugess should be repatriated with dignity or given visas to work in Pakistan .

Anyway PMAP should flex their muscle and show who is the boss. The northern half of Balochistan has been Pashtun dominated for centuries so its a misnomer to call it Balochistan anyway as its is not Baloch land. It should be called southern Pakhtunkhwa or just join by with KPK to form one province.

In some ways, I undrestand the Baloch paranoia because there numbers are few and with the influx of other ethnicities due to Gawadar and other projects, they might become a minority in their own traditional homelands.

In Balochistan, the issue of Afghan refugees has another twist to it. Balochs claim that Ghilzai settlers in 19th century Balochistan (who are few lakhs nowadays), are illegal Afghan refugees who have just recently gained Pakistani citizenship through efforts of PMAP , to undermine the majority of Balochs in the province. British Gazetteers of 1901, have listed two types of domiciled Pashtuns in the province "natives" and "semi'-natives" (nomads and semi-nomads settlers from Afghanistan). British have given the numbers of Ghilzai citizens in each district , so it proves the claim of Balochs wrong. Here is 1962 cicrcular from Pakistan affirming the Pakistani citizenship of "semi-indegenous" in Quetta

Nothing wrong with that he said but sounded little cruel. As we all know now Nadra has been proven corrupt byond doubt. Reverification of CNICs should start from Balochistan.

Ideally afghani pathans need to go through process to get CNIC like it happens in rest of the world. Instead of bribing Nadra officials. Though I'm not sure if there is a legal way for afghani pathans to get CNICs.

Baloch have always been minorty, they make 1/3 of population. Now they are united with Brahuis who make another 30%. In Pakistan politicial parties cannot show any muscle as you are implying. According to Pakistani law there is nothing wrong with what Bugti said. So muscle of Islamabad will be behind Bugti in this case.

But no one can deny many afghani pathans have gotten CNICs by bribing Nadra officials under the watch of PMAP. These tactics were also once employed by MQM in Karachi to increase their vote bank, and now similar thing is happening in Balochistan. It will have to stop soon just like it stopped in Karachi.

See no matter how much Sindhis cry but Pakistan can't do anything to stop increase of native pathan population of Karachi. But afghani refugees in Balochistan technically can be deported.

Anyway I doubt anyone in Pakistan will deport forcefully any fellow human being, we are not cruel people. Bugti is day dreaming if he think rest of Pakistan will support him. It's not just afghanis but also many illegal bengalis and people from other nationalities in Karachi.

Ideally Baloch people should accept and will accept thing as they are now. Going forward what Pakistan can do is improve border control and get rid of corrupt people in Nadra. Afghanis should get visa to stay legally.

Reverification of CNICs in Balochistan should also be done but after that baloch leaders should stop hate mongering. Pakistan isn't place for people like them.

Ghaljay are only native in loy Paktia & Kandahar. Everywhere else, they are settlers. Baluchistan is not South Pakhtunkhwa. That's just stupid nationalist nonsense.

Just because this pakified Bugti talks smack it doesn't mean we should go overboard and claim Baluch land.

Instead of saying stupid stuff like this, a moderator should avoid offending our Baloch brothers who visit this forum and speak positively about them.

I have noticed Afghani pathans who obviously have little idea about internal Pak politics always claim land up to Gwader . While in Pakistan only 2 ethnicities are fed up with afghani pathans more then anyone else because of changing demographics.

Ethnic Baloch leaders from Balochistan and interior Sindh leaders who ironically are also Baloch waderas for most part

Those Ghiljis are not living on Baloch lands but in Pashtun districts like Loralai, Zhob etc. Famous freedom fighter from Zhob 'Palay Khan' , was called "Khosti" because of his background from Khost.

By the way family of Maulana Fazlur Rahman is settled Nassar Ghilzai pawandah in DI Khan, his case is same as those Ghilzai settlers in Balochistan.

There is no legal way for refugees to get CNICs in pakistan.Eventually refugees have to go back to their homeland one day.One reason why pakistan has not been able to hold census since 1998 is the presence of these refugees and illegal immigrants as some parties argue if they are counted than their people will become minority in their lands.

It's not refugees but those afghanis who got CNIC. Those with CNIC will be counted as citizens in next census and they can also vote. Next census will be most controversial in history of Pakistan because of afghanis and increase of population in cities.

Next census will benefit PTI the most if seats are distribuited according to population.

Settlers? You're most likely a settler yourself in some western country, strongly doubt that you actually live in Afghanistan.

Give them citizenship and get over with it otherwise deport them.

Those with citizenship even identify themselves as Pakistanis now and are quite prosperous compared to those with the Refugees card.

Is there a difference between refugees and afghanis in pakistan.Everyone knows afghanis have been coming to pakistan since 1979 as refugees. If they are found out that they got fake CNICs than nadra can cancel those cards.

Technically every afghani in Pakistan is majar so CNICs they got are illegal. Nadra have cancelled thousands of CNICs in recent months. But now Nisar have given Nadra 6 months to reverify all CNICs. Pakisan is about to get serious in taking care of Afghanis who got CNICs by bribing Nadra officials.

It doesn't help that in Balochistan parties like PMAP are playing politics to increase their vote bank by helping afghani majars get CNICs. MQM used to do the same to increase their numbers before authorities stopped it. This isn't fair to other ethnic groups, Karachi muhajirs and pathans leaders have unlimited supply of foreign ethnic kin to increase their numbers against native baloch, sindhis, kashmiris and punjabis.
