Karzai is meeting with Tajiks and Iranians? But they speak farsi, SON OF A BITCH!!! [/sarcasm]

Once again, I cant believe you people. The word Afghan, the country of Afghanistan and the President of the country,
represent so much more than just pashtuns and people who speak pashto. Why do you find his attending this conference so ridiculous?

Please stop with this you people address one member at a time you dont see a thousand members in this thread do you?
Ya? How about I start with you. BESIDES the fact that these two countries (Tajikistan and Iran) are our neighbors (Unless you're Pakistani ) and we should have good relations with them such as trade, economic, security...ect. They speak farsi, so does Karzai and over half of Afghanistan. He has every right to go to this summit.

Pashto isnt being taught in Kabul? Cry me a river, go make a thread about it im sure that will convince Kabul University to start teaching it.

Yes we should work out trade agreements there is nothing wrong with that. But if you had a bit of common sense and the ability to think outside the box you would realize the intention behind this meeting which Catya Sher and many senior members explained.

PASHTO is being discriminated just last week they had a demonstration against people like you. People who forgot about their mother tongue. We have professors on this forums who reported that the argument was both languages should be used as a medium of teaching but its not.

Do you want it in any other language? BBC clearly states that this summit is about strengthening regional security, trade, and transportation.
But if you still think this conference is somehow suppressing pashto, maybe we can get Karzai to have a "Pashtun Summit" over in Pakhtunkhwa. lol

And despite of all the technology that recently entered Afghanistan, which has benefited the North enormously, yet Pukhtoons failed to make the South progress the same way. If Pukhtoons in Pakhtunkhwa keep running to Punjab for better lives since Pakhtunkhwa is not capable of that, and since Pukhtoons of Afghanistan keep running to the North for better lives since majority of South isn't capable of the same, where will we run to when we have a empty and unadvanced state of our own? Who will support us? Where will we get the money from? Are you sure Pakistan will get over the fact you left their arm? Think about it. An ideal state is an educated and progressive state; Right now, Pukhtoons posses none of these.

Aren't they suffering since last three decades anyway? And you seriously believe it's Karzai thanks to who Afghanistan is corrupt? Nopes; Warlords, so-called engineers, so-called governors, and even foreigners all combined have looted Afghanistan. Otherwise, how come that a foreigner who earns no more than a 1000 Pounds/Euro's/Dollars in his own country ends up being a millionaire after leaving Afghanistan?

Afghanistan is one of the countries with huge number of Dari speakers, so indeed there is nothing wrong in Afghanistan taking part in it; Don't forget that Karzai isn't only president of Pukhtoons. Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazaras belong on the same line. Tomorrow if any Uzbeki summit will be held, then for his Uzbeki countrymen, Karzai should attend that meeting, just like how he did the same for his Tajik countrymen. And as far as Pukhtoon summit is concerned, Pukhtoons of Pakhtunkhwa ain't even done insulting Karzai yet so why should he even bother? Even during Taliban regime Afghanistan was all about Pukhto and Pukhtoons; What happened? Which Pukhtoon cared enough for 'a Pukhtoon gathering'?

This isn't the case in entire Kabul, by far not. My cousins were studying in a place where one half of the students was Pukhtoon and other half Tajik, but Pukhtoons complained about lack of Pukhto materials and the institution ended up splitting in two half; Pukhto section and Dari section. The reason why some Pukhtoons don't bother protesting is because of the division it is leading the capital to, not because they are ashamed of Pukhto or are afraid to fight for their language. For some their language is their priority, for others unity is a priority.

^ I haven't been around in Kabul universities to see what is happening, but the university my cousin joined faced loads of problems as around half of the university were Pukhtoons (who were one of the best students as well) who threatened to leave the university if not enough Pukhto is being taught. That's why the university ended up splitting in two half and she said in many universities it's the same case. Since over 70% of Kabul city is dominated by non-Pukhtoons, you can't expect them to worry about Pukhto more than anything can ya? How would Pukhtoons of Kandahar feel if non-Pukhtoons start demanding universities in Dari, despite of over 70% of the city being Pukhtoon?

Shayesta, I am not saying its all because of Kharzai. But the point is that people are promoting the current colonization and oppression as "flourish" "freedom" and "prosperity".

And what about Kabul University? We have people like Dawezai who is a blatant america worshiper lecturing there? And the students of the university are almost entirely the rich upper-class. The poor have little changes of progress. As all the facilities and means to succeed cost money.
