Saw a comment on defence.pk "abondened by world, afghanistan is crawling back to pakistan for friendship".

This is the same general who said "river indus is border of afghanistan". Now he seems quite deflated. Attitude of Pakistan about Afghanistan's attempt of having good relations, is "good that you have finally come to your senses"

Mailo ghrappa, it was Pakistan first begging Afghanistan to send its cadets for training in Pakistan which Afghanistan reluctantly accepted after a long spat of refusal.

Now they have sent a few cadets to assuage Paki sense of wounded ego to which other influential Afghans have objection.

You will see what happens within few months.

An absolute majority of the population and the political spectrum is against this policy of rapprochement with Pakistan and even peace parlays with Taliban under current cirsumstances. This shows resolve and self-confidence. He is there because he was invited.

Only yesterday at the national security council meeting it was concluded that Pakistan has not yet stopped supporting Taliban terrorists and neither has it pledged or can ruled out that it will stop supporting them if the peace talks will not lead to anything. When it is said that they haven't NDS exactly knows where the Taliban and other militants are operating from all with impunity and under ISI cover.

We are in this and I guess Ashraf Ghani will have to keep quite after a while and let others do something about it.

Mate in diplomacy it does equate to begging. You have been asking us since 2001 and every time it was turned down by Karzai. Formally about 3 or three times before and it was again proposed to Ashraf Ghani.

To deliver the message, warning or demand or whatever you want to call it. I understand the broad vision of Ashraf Ghani and his positive approach, but Pakistanis are taking him for granted or this new military establishment thinks that Afghans only understand strong langauge and rough handling.

The Afghan government isn't begging or crawling to Pakistan in any way.

It is begging/crawling when a government who were hostile to a country, suddenly make an u-turn, but right now it is a completely new government with different opinion and approach.

If the Karzai government suddenly made an u-turn toward Pakistan, that would have been begging(he did not I must add).

The unity government of Ashraf Ghani is a new government, so he have a new and different opinion and approach.

So basically both governments of Afghanistan have been going their own separate but straight line(it is begging/crawling back if one makes u-turns, which none of the governments of Afghanistan did).
Don't quote me or speak to me if you hate Afghanistan, you be ignored.

People with identity crisis will be ignored as well.

You're raising a question which already have been discussed in this forum. So I will post my previous answer to the very same question.

Lets get back to the reality. None of them are ''foreign puppets''. They all have their own goals, with their approach to achieve the goal.

In Karzai's case, his motto was ''my enemies enemy is my friend''. Since Pakistan supported/supports insurgency inside Afghanistan, we can all guess who the enemy and friend is.

Ghani have the opposite motto, ''hold your friend close and your enemies closer''.

Lets break the reality into pieces.
We had a Pakistani critic government, and now a Pakistani friendly government. Then there is the people. The Pakistani excuse for the former government was the fact it were Indian friendly. Which apparently justified their enmity against Afghanistan in their eyes.
Now we have a Pakistani friendly government, and Pakistan have no justification to support insurgency in Afghanistan.
Right now the question is, what will the consequences be for Pakistan if a Pakistani friendly Afghanistan fails.
                              1. It will justify Afghanistan's hostility toward Pakistan in the past, present and future.
                              2. It will prove that Pakistan's support for insurgency in Afghanistan isn't based upon ''unfriendly government'', but rather the fact that Pakistan want Afghanistan under their absolute control, and a friendly afghan government was never their motive, but rather an excuse.
                              3. Afghanistan will never become Pakistani friendly, and will probably align with India and use that ''alliance'' for full benefit of both India and Afghan government.

So to sum it up. This new approach to be Pakistani friendly will show Pakistani willingness for peace and prosperity. If it works, then both countries can enjoy the full benefits of peace, and an Afghan government who is free from Indian influence. If not, then Pakistan can expect that it will be dragged down by Afghanistan, and have an Afghan government who is Indian friendly in an extreme sense.

The purpose of this post is to remind you guys, that there is no ''foreign stooge'', but rather a reaction to an action. Basically cause and effect.
