Book of sarcasm? Where would you even get that from my post? Hahha
So when God commanded Adam and Eve not to eat the apple, he was being "metaphorical" "facetious" sacastic"?

What happened to them soon after?

When God commanded Ibliss to prostate, was he being metaphorical?

When the Prophet's warned their people not to transgress and ignore the Lord, were the Prophet's not being literal?

Now we have been blessed to receive the Qu'ran, a book of God's words. If you don't take it seriously, based on the history of what happens what will happen to you and everyone else?

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Metaphors =/= sarcasm I think that should suffice. And also you're quote mining, my comment suggests that Qur'an is LITERAL and METAPHORIC. We just need to hone in on what's what

Honestly if you want me to get into the "interpretation" that I subscribe to you might get terrified.

        no please do, Akhi.

But you didn't answer my question. What happened to people who didn't believe or disobeyed God?

I'm guessing you loved the verse where Allah mentioned having the verses that are ambiguous and some not. How have you figured out which ones and their real meanings

Well ultimately they returned into the big swirling void of Chaos, just like the rest of us will. ....Ultimately.

I don't claim to know what God thinks or God means, but I do think that when things do not precisely deal with how to administer human endeavors; we have a bit of leeeway in exploring what things could possibly mean.

              Kaish,
Savage has a point in saying that it is ridiculous in believing that Allah sits on an actual throne or has actual hands.

Also most new converts are Salafis, Salafis are very active in preying on the weeker non muslims by brainwashing them, this is why so many of the new converts become extremists and terrorists
If the Salafi preaching is working then their arguments must be right in the perception of the people that are siding with them. How would you answer their argument when they tell people that in order to bring change, you must do it with an AK47 when it is a fact that Morsi tried it with the ballot, it didn't work.

The logic is, if plan A didnt work, then you move on to plan B. The blame is not with the Salafi because they would have been muted if plan A would have been allowed to work, the blame rests with the people that extinguished Plan A.

I understand where you and Ak are coming from. but if those verses are "ridiculous", why have it in the Qu'ran.

Theirs a sect, The Five Percent Nation. I'm sure you heard of them. They also think those verses are ridiculous. They believe Allah is not one "thing", but every man is an individual God. That is as ignorant as thinking a word of God is "ridiculous".

I'm not taking sides here since I am not educated enough on these matters. But I like your debate with him. I wanted your response to his point.

But he is not saying that the words themselves are ridiculous, what he is saying is that it is ridiculous to believe Allah has actual hands and sits on an actual throne. Wouldn't that suffice to suggest that some parts of the Quran are metaphoric. To believe in such things is going down the path of Christianity where it is believed that God made man in the image of himself.

                    • BarakZai himself is a militant type extremist. How can he question others like him interpretation of scriptures?

God knows best, but from my own dreams, and of my brothers, Allah has shown himself as a "source of light". Whatever God means when mentions "Yad", or in english "Hand" i don't know, but i won't call any of his verses as "not literal". Because that plays on the water of disbelieve. Because you are not believing the parts when Allah mentions "The Hand"

Light is the key to life.

By "Light" you are metaphorically meaning "Knowledge" or "Wisdom." I understand since we humans communicate in such manner.

Humans use metaphors to communicate, is it not true that the Quran is communication from Allah to mankind, in that regard, is it not possible that maybe some of the verses are metaphors. If we make the mistake of actually taking the word "hand" literally as "hand" or "throne" literally as "throne," then we would be going down the mistaken path the Christians made of believing that God made man in the image of himself.

I don't understand how you could label a person an unbeliever that refuses to believe Allah has image when it clearly says in the Quran that we dont have imaginative capacity to imagine Allah.

No, i don't' mean light as in Knowledge or wisdom. But Light as a source of power. I have known two others (myself included), who i know very good, claim to have seen Allah in their dreams. We all have seen a source of light being Allah the all-mighty.

I haven't personally called anyone an "unbeliever" but if you (Not you, Khusal) don't believe what Allah is saying in those specific verses, isn't that being an unbeliever?

Sometimes we just don't understand. The only thing we can do is to keep trying to seek knowledge and do our best to understand.

How can you be certain that it was Allah you saw in your dream.

Because, Ibliss can only take form of humans, animals, and jinns. Its difficult to explain, the best way I got it is saying a source of light.

I can't lie or exaggerate this. Its a grave sin if I was, but I am telling the truth. You too will get to experience it as well any day, in sha Allah.
