He is trying to allege that explaining causation is the same as justification or acceptance. He confuses simple concepts.Originally posted by Brown Skinned Savage View PostThe Strange this is .....that this thread and the article DISASSOCIATES from the Extremist/Mass Murdering narrative of ISIL......yet Khostai keeps rambling about people making excuses for ISIL ....who here supports ISIL? Khostai creates his own Straw-Man Universe apparently.
He doesnt get the notion that if you dont solve the problem or address the genesis of a bad situation - you cannot resolve it. Your only option becomes
1) Inflicting devastating or inordinate violence (didnt work for "Big Daddy" Hafez Assad even though he leveled Hama a few decades ago)
Whereas if you address causation, you can:
2) Removing the stimulus
which costs less blood, treasure, and lives generally for those that want no part in the violence."2 crackheads don't become any better or stronger by sharing the same crack pipe." - Greatest PF quote

Oh yeah he tried to do that with me here too. Like a few weeks back he was spewing the mainstream European narrative regarding Muslim immigration without looking at underlying causes.
When I responded and explained to him that there are deeper causes than simply "MUslims coming to Europe and feeling entitled"; he just tossed that aside and continued rambling his false narrative. I would think those variables would be important to consider for someone studying social science.
But alas khostai is blinded because he's ideologically driven rather than objective. He LOOkS for facts to fit into his narrative rather than build a narrative based on the facts.Last edited by Brown Skinned Savage; 04-08-2015, 01:09 PM.

This is the crude and harsh reality but they will defend these terrorists by theorizing, going into backgrounds, citing sources which hint towards some justification to bash the West and hair splitting to protect interests of these scoundrels.Originally posted by Khostai View PostIt amases me how after so much bloodshed by extremist like the ISIS (who cwant the whole world to become under their Sharia law, plus distruction of the west) in irak and Syria, Boko Haram (who publicaly want Sharia in Nigeria and now affiliats with ISIS in their global Sharia plan) in Negeria, Al Shabab (Who want global sharia with ISIS and destruction of the West) in Keny, you donkeys still make excuses for this animals.
Instead of looking for solution and thinking how the muslim world can be saved from the dark ages that we are in, you imbecils protect and even defend this animals.
I guess you are animals youself if you like to watch people killed and buried in mass graves. I really wonder how you even sleep at night after you support and defend such animals. And portray them as victims, its just beyond me.
But you know what they say, birds of a feather flock toghether.
Whoever is the cause, whether USA or the West , Islamic State, Boko Hram, Taliban, Al Shabab, Al Qaeda are dirty evils and have to be condemned openly without going into intricacies.
The cause of all these devils is their claim that they copy the life of Muhamamd and act upon the injunctions of Quran in literal sense.

baathists who have been influenced by the Salafi/Wahabhi ideologyOriginally posted by khushal View PostMost of the military commanders of ISIS are baathists from Saddam's military.

Al Qaeda started in Saudi Arabia, what was the reason for them to start up, when Saudi Arabia had no conflict? You keep ignoring the dangers of Wahabhi/Salafis, which are so clear. They dont even hide their hate, they openly hate others, including other sunnis, let alone shias or non believers. Why do you think ISIS and other groups in Africa keep destroying Shrines or ancient sites??? obviously because it is Salafi/Wahabhi doctrine to do so. How dumb do you think people are? you can't keep fooling people. Obviously you belong to that group, this is why you keep coming up with excuses to support themOriginally posted by BarakzaiAbdali View PostThe only covering going on is you covering up the instigation and genesis and REASON these groups exist. You prefer to bow and kow tow to the West because they embarass and pressurize you and you decide you cannot afford to think critically.
Lets let it boil down to two simple points for you to answer
1) How did ISIS come into existance and why has it thrived in sunni Anbar? Who are ISIS and who fights under their umbrella?
2) Who is Shabab and when did they begin their rise? What are their grievances?
Lets just start there. Answer those questions to initiate a discussion.Last edited by Karachi; 04-08-2015, 03:28 PM.

Basically everything, your hate for others, your arrogance. The Salafis I meet here in Canada are probably the most arrogant/proud people I have met in my life. I consider Salafi/Wahabhis to be the most anti Islam people, they are destroying Islam from withinOriginally posted by کیش View PostWhats wrong with being a Salafi. Whoever follows the way of the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) belongs to the salaf al-saalih.
I get labeled as a "Salafi" all the time in-person, and online but if you are a believer, you are indeed a Salafi.

It is easier when the conflict doesn't involve a trait or meme associated with one's self. My point for Karachi et al is not to deny or dismiss the fertilizer/money the Saudis throw at various groups. Heck, it may not even be official policy and it may very well be underground Saudi money, but that is beside the point. No intelligence agency in the world (even the CIA) can build a group like the Contras (for example) and get away with it without being noticed.
These guys choose feast on conspiracy theories that involve Prince Turki Al Faisal somehow having 9 arms and 9 feet and a foot in every troubled nation and basically out of scratch building militancy groups.
The reality is that the groups are responses to pressures/troubles/interventionalism in their locale and various powers (Iran/Saudi/America/etc) all capitalize and use these groups which may have legitimate grievances to their advantage.
If Karachi has a such a hard time with it, I would ask him to consider the Irish Republican Army. So now, we all know that Sinn Fein and some of those radical irish groups used unsavory methodology - but the reality was that the Catholic Irish faced immense discrimination and in general Irish independence movement chafed under Britain. Its not as if the IRA just came out of nowhere.
I just laugh when I see these comments because these sorts of folks live in a make believe world and see the world as they want it to be, not as it is.
Keep defending Al Saud family, afterall aren't they your masters? All wahabhis/Salafis bow down to them

It's very easy to find it, it's all over the internet, not sure who are you people trying to foolOriginally posted by khushal View PostBack up your statement with evidence. Without evidence your just talking out of your arse meaning you got shyt for brains.
So do you have evidence or do you have shyt for brains?
this is quote from the vary first article I found on it:
"Iraq under Saddam had begun cutting off the hands of thieves and beheading women accused of prostitution. Saddam's forces also ruled by intimidation, as does ISIS.
"Former Baathist officers recall friends who suddenly stopped drinking, started praying, and embraced the deeply conservative form of Islam known as Salafism in the years preceding the U.S. invasion," the Post reported.
^ so yes, many of the ISIS were from the Baathist party, but they are hardcore Salafis now. ISIS clearly follows the Salafi/wahabhi doctrine.Last edited by Karachi; 04-08-2015, 05:09 PM.

All meaningful intellectual discourse requires depth and intricacies otherwise it is just blind emotional reactions which smokescreen the truth. This is the mark of truly advanced and educated people.
Any person who avoids intricacies and details and prefer emotional reactions, reveals only that they lack sophistication or education to have a Honest understanding of Reality.Last edited by Brown Skinned Savage; 04-08-2015, 10:57 PM.

The article confirms what I have claimed and does not say anything about how Baathists have become influenced by Salafi ideology. The article says that former Baathist officers have leadership positions. Baathist officers were always brutal. AQ, who you claim are Salafi, have distanced themselves from the Baathist leaders so that would contradict of what your saying.Originally posted by Karachi View Post
I don't like Salafi, but you have to have evidence to back up what you claim. Just because Baathist officers in ISIS are brutal does not mean they are Salafi. American bombing are brutal, that does not make it Salafi.
You seem to have confirmation bias and are looking at everything through distorted lenses. You have this false notion that anything brutal = Salafi. Take off your distorted lenses so you could see clear. You live in the West, take advantage of its superior education.

I quoted the quote from the same article, how does that not confirm they are salafi, again there are hundreds of articles on the net showing that ISIS are Salafis. Answer me why do ISIS destroy shrines, graves and ancient sites, is that not a salafi practice?Originally posted by khushal View PostThe article confirms what I have claimed and does not say anything about how Baathists have become influenced by Salafi ideology.
