I don't even know that Karmal was Tajik, no one seems to know anything about that guys background.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

not only his family background but with his political and personal background. it is said he became associated with massoud/rabbani in the late 80s but i have heard mixed things about him prior to that. while jamiat was an islamic party, abdullah has never presented himself as anything other than a secularist or at least never a political muslim.

But Jamiat itself always had a more sectarian and secularist outlook in itself, which has been more apparent since 1991. Massoud, Abdullah, Atta, Qanooni etc. non of them are politically muslims etc. They have always presented themselves to represent a sect/ethnic group.

How do Pashtuns feel about this? Is this the end of Pashtun political power in Afghanistan?
Don´t forget to name of this ugly guy Mujadeddi and of course of Mr. Rabbani as well and during the Taliban era those Pakistani Generals like Perves who ruled Kandahar, another Paktika. Despite the stupid claim of a member here, Babrak Karmal was a Kamari Farsiwan. He had no Kashmiri ancestory. He filled all state organs with Tajiks, gave them all key positions and state apparatus. Abdullah Abdullah´s only aim is to break that tradition that the president of the country must be a Pashtun. For this purpose he wants to change the political system in Afghanistan and make use of a fake Pashtun identity. He also wants to create a Prime Ministry which would go to another Farsiwan as long Abdullah Abdullah make false claims about his background. Once he established the new system it would be very very difficult for us to take the government back. Abdullah´s aim is also to establish a globally recognized and legitimated government. He knows about the ethnic rivarely in Afghanistan. If his government is considered as democratic voted government he will have the backing of most foreign powers. His next step would be the mentioning of the ethnics on ID cards. Taking a demographic and ethnic census. Promoting Dari in all government positions and even the anthem of Afghanistan should exists of two anthems. His further step is the devision of Afghanistan. Do you remember that meeting between US, UK, Taliban, Pakistan and NA officials last year? It is said that Pakistan will welcome Abdullah as president of Afghanistan and they will publically support him just to strenghten the Taliban in the south of Afghanistan. The Pakis again see an opportunity to keep Afghanistan shaken. http://pakobserver.net/detailnews.asp?id=241038 This article by Pakistani saying that whilst Abdullah is likely to become president - it can be good for Pakistan should it choose to destroy the Pakistani Taliban and act against Afghan Taliban - but in all likelihood - the Nawaz Sharif government will not deal with the the Taliban problem - and instead seek to control it as before. The likelihood of a major boost to the Taliban post 2014 is likely and that they will launch huge offensives. The Farsiwans are already good on their way to monopolize the whole north. To finish this process they need to take over the government. I think they want to prevent the scenes from the 90s when they were holding Herat and at the same time fighting Taliban and Dostom´s militias. This time they want to weaken the Dostumis before the big war starts.

Also as far as i know Mr. Abdullah considers himself Pashtun. BTW this election has "Rigged" written all over it.

                            LOL!
Where he said he is ''Pashtun''? Stop fooling yourself and the people. He never claimed such a thing. He always said he is from south. That´s all.

Dr. Ashraf Ghani is allied with warlords and ethnocentric people. They have raped Pashtuns and stolen our monies. Dostum is a well-known Pashtun killer and during Najib era he raped for the government thousands of our women in Kandahar, Pakia, Khost and in Kabul. His militias right now are busy in torturing Pashtuns. Why should we condemn one dog but hide the truth about another dog?

abdullah is a warlord which is hated by pashtuns as i know

what will happen when addullah wins the second round and gonna sign the contract of durandline

                                what will pashtuns do?
If he wins we must accept it since he won it democratic. If we don´t accept him civil war will start and finally partition of Afghanistan leaving us back in our deserts. We must find compromises and a way how to follow our own interests but at the same time playing a role in the government. If we fail Pakistan will eat us and durandline won´t be an issue. Still not an issue. All countries accept it, except Pashtuns on Afghan side. if we fail to win over Abdullah we will be a bigger loser ..
