Because of your standard of proof. No one can confirm the identities, affiliations, party leanings, biases, family history, educational level, voting pattern, employment benefits/dependencies of either of your sources yet you hoisted yours up as proof that Aladdin swooped in on a magic carpet from Arabia and started shooting up Kunduz and somehow bypassed all the land in between the Durand line without getting caught by anyone or noticed by anything - with the other possible entrance point being Tajikistan - so basically Aladdin and his goons went around the other way???

I think you underestimate the galvanizing power of an occupation.
