Who knows, I just think for international commerce, relations and administration Arabic is ideal, for cultural things like art music, poetry and what you speak at home You should speak your native languages whether Pashto, Dari, Uzbek or whatever.

Well if he wants to identify himself as Muslim, then there would be no reason to think being an Arab would be his ideal idea of Muslim since Arab is a nationality/ethnicity and that would contradict identifying as MUslim. Contemporary Arabs didn't kick the British 3 times, and neither did Pashtuns, If Pashtuns kicked put the Briitish , then over half our land wouldn't have been split to help create another British creation, Pakistan.

The definition of Self Esteem is , worth depending on an individuals own merits.. Ethnic Pride is not based on one's merits but rather on something totally undecided by you. So by definition people who depend on ETHNIC Pride are people who suffer a lack of self esteem and people who derive their pride by their own choices and decisions have self esteem.

You should adopt Arabic because Arabic is a more fundamental with a better literary history than Pashto. It's more developed as a language structurally and can be used as a common linga franca that bonds all Muslims into one administrative framework. and keeps insecure Nationalists in their place.

The reason why not latin and all such languages, is because we want a Linga Franca for MUSLIMS everywhere, the Language that Islamic Heritage is based on is Arabic. even the word MUSLIM itself is an Arabic word. The administrative framework makes it a common speak that we can use to communicate with other Muslims instead of English and developing our own educational and administrative systems.

An official announcement from Google Inc is yet to be made but State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak broke the news in his Facebook post on Friday.

He congratulated all involved in the post.

“We’ve done it! Our target was 400,000. Setting a record by adding so many words in a day has taken Bangladesh to a new high,” he said.

“Bengalis across the globe could add over 700,000 words and phrases to Google Translate since yesterday, thanks to all who responded to our call. The credit goes to all, the pride is of Bangladesh,” he added.

Over 4,000 volunteers keyed in at least 400,000 words to the translation app in a day from 81 places in the country .

The initiative, co-organised by the ICT Division, Google Developers Group and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), kicked off on Thursday morning at Agargaon.

It ended at 6am on Friday.

It was said adding over 400,000 words in a day would set a record.

Palak said more people from homes worked for the record.

“It is an unofficial announcement of sorts. Google will formally announce the number of words contributed and the record soon,” he said.

On Thursday, the state minister said the Google server had crashed twice after 11am on when about 10,000 users logged in simultaneously.

Google Translate is a free online language translation service that supports 90 languages, according to the company.

Anyone can add new words or phrases to it by going to http://translate.google.com/community

As many as 65,000 Bangla words were added to Google Translate on Feb 21, the second highest after Spanish on that day.

Insha'Allah I hope to see Pashto on the Google translate list.

At least 3 times more people speak Pashto then speak Swedish for example, which is on that list.

There are even languages on Google translate, I've never even heard of:

- Chichewa
- Hmong
- Sesotho

I have to disagree.

Islam is a theology and also a set of moral rules and other guidelines which is universally applicable to all.

If it was Arab imperialism then why did the Turkish Ottomans rule the Arabs for 400 years, or why did the post-Khomeneist Iran engage in a war with Iraq backed by the rest of the Arab world for almost a decade?

I myself am a practising Muslim but am totally opposed to Arab nationalism.

By the way some of the actual real Arab nationalists dislike Islam as it encourages brotherhood and equal rights with non-Arabs.
