We are talking about two different phenomena.

Right wing groups in Europe are a reaction to a number of recent developments in Western countries. Old patterns of life and the homogeneous nature of Western societies are changing. Due developments in mass media, Internet and mass communication, politics is becoming populist.

Nationalism in developing countries is an older version of the same ideology. Nationalism in Afghanistan for example is the same as the type of nationalism prevalent in Europe in the late 1900' and early 20th century.

Our societies are extremely diverse. thats why nationalism is only increasing local tensions and hostilities. Tajiks vs Pashtuns, Pashtuns vs Hazaras etc. educated people and people who have jobs and businesses will realize that this ideology is counterproductive.

It is not reactionary and it is not xenophobic like the right wing movement of Europe.

Both ideologies share same roots and have some similarities. But they older version, the one prevalent in Muslim countries, is on its way out.

The modern Western version is on the rise.

Valid point. Indeed current rise of nationalism is far different than the older version. This modern version stress more on cultural/civilization values rather than nationalist/ethnic/racial ones.

Actually in ancient Iran "Aryan" meant "nobleman" or just "noble". This Aryan=master blonde race BS was spread by German nationalist during the interwar period. When in Afghanistan Tajiks or Pashtuns claim to be "Aryans" it means they are sons of the old Iranic tribes who took over the region many centuries ago. Nobody cares about Nazis or Germans except few uneducated wannabes (there are plenty of this confused and annoying people in Iran).
