  • Sticking to their guns: PML-N vows to materialise dream of Hazara province

    By Muhammad Sadaqat
    March 24, 2014

Former MNA Gohar Ayub Khan lauded the move and assured the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to which he belongs will get the resolution approved from the Senate and Lower House.

Though the resolution for a separate Hazara province has divided opinion across the region, people from Hazara division have welcomed the step as a positive one.

Speaking to The Express Tribune on Sunday, former MNA Gohar Ayub Khan lauded the move and assured the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to which he belongs will get the resolution approved from the Senate and Lower House.

To a question, he said the way the resolution was adopted did fulfill the requirements for the creation of a new province. He, however, claimed had Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak voted in favour of it, it would have strengthened the case.

Gohar maintained those calling for the demand of Hazara province on linguistic grounds were actually throwing a spanner in the works as Tahirkhelis, Mashwanis, Jadoons, Tareens, Swati Khankhels and Dilazaks were all Pukthuns who had been living in Hazara for centuries. “Even if they have forgotten their mother tongue, their ethnicity as Pukhtuns remains unchanged,” he said.
He added the province was an administrative requirement and was a province till March 12, 1848 when Sikh Governor Sardar Chitar Singh surrendered before the British forces. He said during the era of Ahmed Shah Abdali, Hazara was called as Chach Hazara and then later named Hazara.
Gohar said after the Partition, India had nine provinces, while till last month it had 28. Now, he added, India added yet another province, with the smallest province having a population of 600,000. “The concept of small is beautiful is well accepted worldwide, so the creation of small administrative units is the need of the hour.”

Former CM and Provincial President of PML-N Pir Sabir Shah said his party had a clear stance on Hazara and would honour its promise. He said the province was the right of the people which was why they had incorporated the demand in their manifesto.
Replying to a query, he said the appointment of PML-N senior leader Mehtab Abbasi as the K-P governor has nothing to do with Hazara as a province, but he was bound to follow the party lines.
    Celebrations abound
Workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), PML-N, Hazara Qaumi Mahaz, Tehrik Suba Hazara and its splinter group Suba Hazara came out on the streets and danced in jubilation. They congratulated each other and also distributed sweets.
“I do not foresee any hiccups in the way of the province’s creation as PML-N enjoys majority in the National Assembly,” claimed Liaqat Khan, a political analyst commenting on the situation. He lauded the role of PTI MPAs from Hazara but criticised the CM for his absence in the assembly session.

I pray to Allah that this "Hazara province" is never created.

I have read the abuse that these Hazara nationalists have piled upon Pashtuns on the internet despite the fact the Hazara region is more propserous and enjoys disproportionately more power than other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Also this Gohar Ayub character is the son of the notorious racist anti-Bengali former military dictator of Pakistan and traitor, Ayub Khan.

Ayub Khan was removed from power primarily due to the Bengali leader Maulana Bhashani (rahmatullahi 'alaih) at that time who was helped by Pashtun nationalist leader, Wali Khan (rahmatullahi 'alaih).

Ayub Khan, the former military dictator of Pakistan, who handed Pashtun land over to Punjab e.g. handed over parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Punjab province. This traitor's sons are now wanting to take away more land from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It will take further atleast decades to decide whether the province should be created or not. Most important Yesteday a ANP official also said that Abbasin division will be created initially

His so called cousin is not only anti Islam but has recently abused Alama Iqbal.

Soon you might hear from Pakistan that either all the parachas are forced to leave Pakistan for their original land aka Bihar in the central india or Hanged.

The movement for a Hazara province has been around ever since "NWFP" was renamed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
For your information.... The Hazara Movement started way back in 1987. NWFP was renamed to Khyber Pakhtunkwha in 2010.

              The problem is:

              1. If the Punjabis can break away from Pakhtunkhwa with their Hazara province, can non-Punjabis start to form their own provinces?

              I doubt it.

              Not in Punjabi-ruled "Pakistan".
Errr... Did Punjab express the desire to 'annexate' this so-called Hazara province? :/ Besides, it's not like there aren't plans to carve out new provinces from Punjab such as Pothwar (where I hail from). I am totally against new provinces tho.

              2. Why do Pashtuns have to wait 6 decades for a simple name change and Hazaras/Punjabis wait for a few years for an entire province of their own?
Looooool. Do you actually read the crap your write?

              3. What about those Pashtun areas of the so-called "Hazara division" who do not want to be with the racist Hazara dominated province?

On Khyberwatch a few years ago one user said there are even some Pashtuns in the Hazara division who are arming themselves and ready to fight if they are included in a new "Hazara province".
Don't worry, that won't be your (internal) problem. Go worry about the state of Biharis in your God's chosen country.

Jhelum, Rawalpindi and, if I'm right, Attock are part of the Potohar region. The main language is Pothwari, but Pothwari and Hindko have actually quite a lot in common.

But they always follow their leaders, pashtuns are pathetic followers. I agree that pashtun nationalist movement is not as potent as Sindhi. But the problem with pashtuns of KPK is that they are always fighting with each other interms of who is the better the better tribe etc etc. We pashtuns from punjab are much more nationalist and look beyond tribal affiliations. We consider the pashtuns from Afghanistan and Pakistan the same, while alot of pashtuns from KPK dont understand that idea, unless they travel outside KPK which chnages their perspective. Finally, if you just look at Karachi, pashtuns are the largest ethnic group controling major chunk of business. You wont see many sindhies even in Karachi. THat said i agree that Sindhies are most efficent when it comes to impose their political will.
This is because Sindhis think leaving their village makes them 'Pardes' (foreigner), even if they stay inside Sindh lol. You will see Balochs, Pashtuns, Punjabis etc in cities across Pakistan but you won't see a Sindhi.

You call it efficient, I beg to differ.. These tribal leaders are being blindly worshipped by keeping their followers illiterate et cetera. What's the purpose of this type of politics if you keep your people backwarded, poor and so on?

Further more, browse this Thread. He claimed that Nadeem farooq Paracha is his cousin.Than i told him to PM me his name since one of Nadeem farooq paracha relative is my classmate and i would confirm his claim from her.But he remained silent or acted like a paracha.

Pakistani people as he said are brainwashed to a non returnable point by Pakistani education and love the Pakistani partition hero's.

Recently his so calld cousin Nadeem abused the Pakistan national poet.

Now it is expected that not only Nadeem faroqq paracha but whole of paracha tribe will be either hanged or shifted back to their place of origin aka Bihar,India.

After Partition many People came to Pakistan of them paracha are one. They didnt got the title of Mahajar's as the people of karachi has retained. But they are originally Mahajar people.

It is expected that Toramana might have already left Pakistan in fear of being hanged :D and put behind the bars forever and to be exposed ISI Prisons

And from his knowledge and attitude,It seems like he's only a matric fail let alone doctorate or associated with any sort of Research

These filthy ignorant Pakeez who don't know much beyond what that load of lies called Mutalia Pakistan feed them with not knowing that the so-called dreamer of Pakistan was nothing more than a typical Punjo-Indian on the one hand singing songs of Pan-Islamism to exploit Muslim sentiments for popularity on the other writing eulogies of his British masters.

This eulogy he wrote at the height the WWI when British had just destroyed Ottoman Empire, the Muslim Khalafath. Ironically, the guy composed poetry that said, " Aik hoon Muslim haram kai pasbani kai liyai, neel kai sahil sai lai kar thaa ba khaak-i-kshaghar" (translation: all muslims from Nile to Kashagar unite for the the defense of Kaaba). And what happened to his so-called "khodi" and "mard-i-momin" philosophy to accept stipends and knighthood from British and glorify slavery under the British Raj?

The guy also contributed in the campaign to recruit soldiers for British Indian Army in WWI.

RTR you are also a jahil like this "Thak Thor Khanzir" and "Da Bannu Murdar".

"During the First World War, Iqbal wrote a poem at the request of Sir Michael O’Dwyer, governor of the Punjab, in response to an appeal from the King. This was read out in 1918. In it, addressing the King of England, Iqbal says:

“If there is freedom of speech and writing here, if there is peace between the Temple and the Mosque here,

“If there is an organised system of business of the various peoples here, if there is strength in the dagger and life in the sword here,

“Whatever there is, it has been granted by you, O honoured one, this land is alive only because of your existence.

“I am the tree of loyalty, love is my fruit, a just witness to this statement are my actions.

“Sincerity is selfless, so is truth selfless, so is service, and so is devotion selfless,

“Pledge, loyalty and love are also selfless, and devotion to the royal throne is also selfless,

“But being human the thought which arises naturally is, that your favours are manifest upon India.”

This was published in the paper Akhbar-i Haq, the magazine Zamana of Kanpur, and the book Hindustan aur Jang 'Alamgir (‘India and the World War’) by L. Ralya Ram. It was then published in Baqiyyat-i Iqbal, on pages 216 to 219. It was first read out by Dr. Iqbal himself at the Punjab University Hall, Lahore.
