Malgariya, no one is under this delusion. We know what real politik is. But, since the partnership of Afghanistan with India is is beneficial to Afghanistan, we must use it to strengthen ourselves and weaken our enemies.

Malgariya, the reality of history is a very venerable guide to the Afghans, I agree. But somethings are dynamic. Political interests and geo-strategic realities are ever changing. We must adapt ourselves to them.
Secondly, it is in the interest of all the regional powers that Afghanistan becomes a stable democracy and the root cause of terrorism is eliminated from the region. We also follow the same discourse. As long as our affiliations serve further this discourse, we must move along with them.

Pakistan has no right to object any country's presence in Afghanistan provided does not instigate insurgencies and trouble in Pakistan.

So I wanted to have a thread dedicated to this topic that interests me, India being the largest regional donor in Afghanistan has a strong presence in Afghanistan. Aside from all Pakistanis in love with the India bollywood movies, they despise there influence in Afghanistan when it comes to politics.


I encourage all participants, especially Khalsawarrior to explain that India is doing this for good will and not to use Afghanistan in a battle-field.

Nazia, its a bit of both. One cant classify it in black or white. India definitely has interests in helping Afghanistan. But as mentioned by many on this forum, as long as India's inerests align with Afghanistan's, there shouldnt be a problem for anybody.

But if somebody is trying to tell me that India is uisng Afghan soil to launch terrorist attacks into Pakistan by supporting TTP and what not; well show me the evidence people. And also show me if these groups are not splinters of Pakistan's own creations.

Sangar, India is not a rich country. By current statistics India has close to 400Mn people surviving on $2 a day. But again INR100 (based on current rupee-dollar conversion) is a lot of money for a person in India. This off topic, but since you have brought it up, India's problems are not of money but of access. Corruption, red tapism block food and goods meant for the poor to be siphoned off by govt. agents. India exports wheat and rice yet many people go hungry. Why? Distribution. Again corrupt officials sell off rice meant for the poor in open markets. The list is endless.

And as I said, India definitely has its interests and that include reducing Pakistan's influence in the region. And if that means an Indian would have to pay higher taxes, I dont think he will mind.

The only reason is that indians want to misuse afghans.Probably they would have their terrorist camps over there in future , from there they would send terrorists to pakistan . There is a history of these RAW agents , being caught, in peshawar , lahore and islamabad.

How is it beneficial? India is using you Afghans to build a base for potential war with us Pakistani Pashtuns.

Why would India want to help you Afghans? They will exploit your resources and use you as war-shield against us powerful Pakistan.

India won't do that, and btw if Pakistan was smart they wouldn't either. Your are speaking with no sense of logic or rationale. Maybe you should save yourself the humiliation.

Indias are in Afghanistan to use Afghan territory against us. we will not tolerate Indian presence in Afghanistan at all.

I am getting annoyed at these persistent rants. Who gave Pakistanis the right to decide who stays in Afghanistan and who doesnt? IS Afghanistan your God-given backyard that nobody else can enter?

And if you would have used your influence in Afghanistan a little constructively, there would have been no grounds for India to enter. Realistically speaking, its Pakistan that provided India the opportunity to enter Afghanistan. Did India have any presence uptill the 90's? NO! Guess why? Pakistan started using the Taliban's Jihadi machinery to export terror into India. What was India supposed to do? Sit and watch you guys burn our country down? And the Pakistanis always had the excuse of "The tribals are not in our control!". "The Taliban is not our creation!". Well now India is trying to create an environment for you to reign in the Taliban. And Pakistan better do that, or the Frankenstein monster called Taliban is going to eat up its master!

There is a history of ISI agents being caught in India as well. If you are going to use that as your logic, you are wrong footed my friend.

I will again say, let the Afghans decide whats best for them. Pakistan has no right to dictate terms to Afghans. Rather than threats and warnings, why didnt Pakistan do what India has been doing there? Building the infrastructure and institutions. You guys could have done so much for Afghanistan. A long border, people to people relations, hundreds of years of shared history. And look what ISI and PA did. Exploit the people to control their land. And I guess Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were the only two countries to recognize the Taliban govt. in Kabul. Werent they? Doesnt that speaks volumes about the lack of goodwill towards Afghanistan?
