what are you talking about. they brought in zahir shah and no one wanted as leader nor any of zahir shahs kin. they had no merit, they lost it when they ran away during time of need.

Pashtunwali promotes using power and responsibility on the right path. If one uses it on the wrong path, they will be rejected.

he or I should say his uncle and cousin had merit during his/their rule since he/they kept the country in peace. He lost it when he did nothing for his country in time of need (his uncle and cousins were dead) that is why the Americans couldnt install him as king again.
If it is lineage like you say, then zahir shah or one of his kin would have been king today, they are not so you are wrong.

i think you are very wrong the way you are perceiving muslims.

the muslims in caucasus are the same as the muslims somewhere in egypt.
we are all brothers but you wouldnt agree you think chechenyans have russian type culture etc.
I need no excuse as I am not implementing anything dear Bridmal!

Also I disagree, Vaynakhs have no Russian type culture neither the Arabic one, a visit to the Caucasus can make You understand that easily. Also You will realize that different caucasian nations have different cultures.
You can see that even through history( Davud Myushkyurvi.....)

voting exists in pashtunwali. does not prove your point. people in my village vote but there is no government authority there. disputes are not handled by the government, there is no police, court or any other government institution there.

hahah yes they had merit, but they weren't given credit for it

Your statement is a red herirng; Afghans are tired of the old ways; hence today they prefer someone they chose. Pashtunwali is obsolete

since when do you need polling stations in Pashtunwali to elect a Government Official in a central government?

do you ever not prattle bull**** when there's abundant evidence to the contrary? save yourself at least SOME dignity

polling station is a new method of an old system. besides that why does the government hold loya jirgas every so often if pashtunwali is dead. The current government has no merit because they need a foreign army to protect itself.

I see your panicking again because you have been proved wrong. Answer the question, Why was Zahir shah or his kin not installed as kin since you say pashtunwali promotes lineage to rule.

Pashtunwali is not obsolete since the majority of afghans settle disputes and lives by the code even today.

"Settling Disputes" committee inaugurated in western Afghanistan
source : Afghan Voice Agency (AVA), Herat

Herat, (AVA)- The committee of settling disputes consisted of clerics, tribal elders inaugurated in western Afghanistan.

The commission of settling dispute in charge, Mohammad Sharif Mojaddedi, said the tribal disputes have caused problems between the Afghanistan government and people in many Afghanistan areas.

Some tribal disputes have been settled in Badghis and Herat so far.

Pointing to important role of religious clerics in providing peace in Afghanistan, Mojaddedi said the new commission could be effective in High Council for Peace progress.

The commission was inaugurated after the tribal and families disputes had raised in Herat, Badghis and Ghor.

Thus, in these cases, the Justice Shura
played a role in mediating not only between the district government and people, but also

between Chahar Borjak’s economic power holders and those that depend on them.
