I remember the words of the American soldier, they (ANA) are lucky for everyday if they are not killed, they try not to get killed rather than defending, protecting, carrying out raids.

If they are unable to protect themselves what can they do with the best equipment of the world.

If the insurgents are able to be strong enough with the poorest weapons of the world, what would have they done,if they had same equipment as the U.S has.
High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation.

No, you are right, Americans didn't recognize Taliban because they cared for the poor and orphans of Afghanistan. They cared and sympathized with groups like RAWA, and had Ahmed Shah Masood on speed dial. They finally decided to invade Afghanistan to liberate our women and rebuild the nation by installing Karzai and former warlords.

Laili Helms, niece of the former CIA director and ambassador for the Taliban to Washington.

Ohh noooss Americans didn't recognize the Taliban in the first place why....why?

Right, you shouldn't forget, who starved the Afghans and abandoned them after using them to wipe their arse against the Russians. Though the criminals are those who came to power and at least brought some sort of stability/security. How dare those evil Taliban Muzzlaam Arab Worshipping Terrorist! HOW DARE THEY!

now who was sleeiping in luxury hotels to be courted by members of International Consortiums while they drove out engineers and educated expatriates trying to repair everything?

Hersey and propaganda, isolated incidents blown out of proportion. For much of their rule Talibs were at constant war, a rag tag group of religious students from various denominations from the South who knew little to nothing about nation building or running. They all grew up with war, but at least realized that something had to be done with all the vice in their nation.

Oh wait, those evil super Pakis, those super duper Pakis, artificial non-existent fake nation with army, nukes, air force, a GDP of 200 billion a year, government, institutions and what not. That Paki nation paper tiger. Yeah those nothing no bodies who are able to take 140 NATO nations for a bike ride for the past 12 years. Those nobodies beggars, they are nothing compared to our mighty 10 thousand mighty greatest superior history of white skin genetics.

                      Come on bro.

The question is, why were these evil bad Talibs able to do what the communists, different muj groups, and the current democratic regimes have failed to achieve = justice, stability, security, and little corruption. No warlords, drug lords, Khans and Malaks raping little girls or making little boys dance in their hujras. On the contrary those very educated engineers and expatriates have been exposed with their sponsors to indulge in such vices.

By the way, the Taliban, including Hashimi above, openly stated multiple times they welcome any help as long as they go through them with no strings attached.

Do you know why South America is in ruins....I dont see any Taliban or Shariah warriors there. Yet it's still a crap hole. And anyone that demands their fair share in that region with no strings attached....well just ask Hugo or Castro.

The Talibs had 6 years of rule time while fighting a full fledged civil war, little to no international support, still achieved far much than what the "democratic" highly "educated" backed by 140 nations, karakul regime has to show in 12 years with all the support one could hope for.

Why is that? Morally bankrupt people can't be expected to do any good no matter how shiny their shoes are. The Talibs have morals, maybe not ideal, but they have something that they believe in. What do these loonies cartoonies believe in?

Are you high on hashish brother? What by the way Taleban achieved in 6 years of their rule in terms of economy, infrastructure, education, institution building, and other sectors of development? As for I remember, Peshawar in those days swirled with helpless families from Afghanistan living in squalid conditions. You could see hundreds of women begging in shops, malls, etc. Thanks God that situation has disappeared with the present democratic dispensation.

The security Taleban brought was nothing more than like in a prison. And has not the present democratic govt faced disruption of peace and stability at the hands of Pakistan's Taleban proxies? The destabilizing acts characterized by suicide bombing and indiscriminate killing of people in mosques are rather more horrendous than those of Dostums etc.

At least one should say something that makes sense.

Looks like old boy Karzai has finally taken off the karakul.
Afghanistan needs a new leader Resistance. Taliban, or the Karzai corruptristration aren't cutting it.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                            An open question:
Did anybody visit the capital of Taliban(Kandahar)from 1996-2001? It seems like we have many "experts" here, but how many of you have witnessed things from your own eyes?

oh of course ....yes a rag tag group which must all pay allegiance to Mullah Omar, obey and enforce his edicts. Either Mullah Omar is a piss poor leader or Taliban were doing just as he sanctioned. Which is it?

who are you fooling with that two page nonsense of essentially narrative "counter" propaganda?

Never been there myself, but most Kandaharis I came across supported them, many still do. In the beginning years of the war many of these people had high hopes for Karzai.
