What if there is a UNION between Afghanistan & Pakistan

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.
A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai
For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."
The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
-Ferishta, 1560–1620

It does sound pretty simple - forget all the stages of development and move straight to a high-tech industry. Economic development of North Korea started when it became a colony of Japan and especially after WWII when the Americans opened their market for North Korean goods and heavily invested in their economy. Because all these East-Asian countries had export oriented development strategies, access to the sea played a vital role in their progress and development.Originally posted by R3SISTANC3 View PostAccess to the sea becomes irrelevant depending on the industries a nation decides to pursue. Countries like Switzerland and Hungary are landlocked however prosperous at the same time because of their use of technology. If Afghans continue to think along the lines of pushing donkeys up and down the Khyber Pass with goods then yes access to the seas is important. If they start thinking out of the box like for example the technological industries of India, Korea or Japan they'll do incredibly well. Replace hard labor with smart work.
Pakistan even with it's access to the waters is in dire financial strains. It is economically blocked from the rest of the world when it comes to doing business through the technology industry. Many Pakistani software firms, IT firms, can't actually do business because of the limitations imposed on the nation. While Indians are making head ways. Visit Silicon Valley and witness their technological, especially software based work force.
Indians no longer have to leave their villages to make bank thanks to the wise decisions of their countrymen by perusing technology = software.
All these countries have been through the hard-labour before they moved on to soft/smart-labour, some continue to do so even today. Only a faction of India's billion+ population is employed in the high-tech industry. "India's IT industry, despite contributing significantly to its balance of payments, accounts for only about 1% of the total GDP or 1/50th of the total services."
I would love to see silicon vallies everywhere across Afghanistan and Pakhunkhwa, but seriously, how realistic is that? I know there is a silicon valley in the United States, Israel and India is trying to build something similar, but looking at our current position, it will probably take us centuries. Even if we are to get there in decades, we still have to go through the "hard-labour" process of economic development.
Let's get back to the main question, what do you think about a union between these two countries? and Why?

From the perspective of Pashtuns certain conditions have to be met before any sort of union can come into place.
1: All pashtun areas in Pakistan are formed into one province called pakhtunkhwa which has to latter has to merge with pashtun areas of Afghanistan making up Pashtunistan.
2: Punjab divided into 2 or 3 provinces. South Seraiki, north punjab.
3: Balochistan given full autonomy
4: Sindh given full autonomy
5: Sindh and Balochistan have to give access to the sea for the landlocked provinces in return for access to the central asia.
6: Each region use their own language for education, media, and so on.
7: Punjab and other wheat producing provinces have to give surplus wheat to other provinces who need it at cheaper market price. In return they can have access to minerals and other natural resouces at lower than market price.
8: Each province have their own national sports teams, and so on
9: Each ethnic group with a population in excess of 1 million have their own parliment.
These are some of the condition which have to met before any sort of union can take place.

Balochistan do not want to join a loy Afghanistan or whatever. They want their own state, their own ruled tribal system and they will get that from the US. Pakistan is not such a weak state to give 15% of it´s Pakistani population to Afghanistan. Still Pathans make 15% of Pakistan. What Pakistan did with Afghanistan and Afghans in the past should have been a lesson to most of you. You live in the west because of Pakistan. In Afghanistan Pashtuns have the same problem. They are a minority among minorities and their government is powerless and their ''freedom'' fighters are controlled by Pakistan and the Saudis. The minorities in Afghanistan who are of non-Pashtun background are the absolute majority in the state and if they unite themself again they will control 80% of the state. Pashtuns can not decide alone of the fate of Afghanistan, It´s very easy to establish states in the north since non-Pashtuns do not want beeing part of Pakistan or Pakis or becoming a minority in their own state. The Panjabis and Muhajirs are a very expandable people. They will flood your Kandahar, Peshawar (they already did), your Paktia and Khost at the same time thy will force Pashtzun settlments to leave their provinces as they did in FATA and Peshawarvalley. It´s just a question of time when non-Pashtuns will overruan that failed Kharzai package and take the adminisitration into their hands since such packages proved 200years for not beeing able to manage a country. It´s time for the sons of Ghaznavids and Samanids, the suns of great Gardizshahis and Ghurids. The people who de facto ruled Turkic and Indian empires by standing and controlling the noble-men and kings. Either you are happy with Pakistan and Afghanistan or you are happy with an inter-Pashtun civil war. You can decide which side you want. Right now there occures smaller civil wars among Pashtuns, the Paki ones against the Afghani ones. Further, you need to define what Loy Afghanistan is. According to US and NATO, Loy Afghanistan is the NWFP and the south-eastern regions of Afghanistan the Pashtun state while nearly 70% are out of Pashtun domination. A new government and a demographic census should be the first things that have to take place in Afghanistan. Those fake Wikipedia censuses are assumptations many times changed in favour of Kharzairegime. The CiMic Informations of Afghanistans ethno-datas show a much different picture than what you people know from Wikipedia or Internet. Pashtuns can chose living in the context of the two diffent and official states or they can have their states but what will happen is that they will fall to victims of civil wars, tribal wars, isolation, starvation and many more. Currently, the Karzai-Mafia family is keeping NATO and US fighting Pashtuns to fill their own bags with money.Last edited by Guest; 05-06-2012, 10:29 AM.

I would support an union with our northern neighbours. They have more to share with us than Pakistan. A union with Pakistan is suicide for Afghanistan and specially for Pashtuns.Originally posted by Ghorzang View PostOK.. I am a little bit lost here.. Do you think we should have a union between Afghanistan & Pakistan, or no? Why?

Why don´t you bring the Indian Ocean to Afghanistan? lol The Pashtun generals breed Taliban to kill Pashtuns and they killed pumpkin Head, Najib and some of your Taliban heroes. Don´t forget that. Every Pashtun in a Paki military unit is a Imran Khan.Originally posted by lynx View PostAfghanistan in the future will need access to ports- an independent and free Afghanistan.
However, while obviously not the only reason, Afghanistan not having an access to a port right now- is one of the reasons that the US/NATO is on the verge of a humiliating defeat- (talk of pact is rubbish when you consider the actual context- this is actually the reason Ryan Crocker is getting so angry even after signing so called pact with the puppet Karzai). Strategically, this is a fact.
Pakistan has supported the US/NATO/Karzai war with the critical supply routes, and previously supported drone attacks. These actions have led to the bloodshed of Pashtuns. In this regard, Pakistan has not been protective of either the Pashtun population within Pakistan, and especially within Afghanistan. Those bullets used in the Kandahar massacre came from Pakistan air supply routes.
It would only be wise for Afghanistan to join with Pakistan when it is ruled by a sensible religious Pashtun PM, and a Pashtun Army general, only those who would never support war upon Pashtuns as Musharraf did when he supported NATO/Karzai with supply routes.
I dont know when this will happen, but when it does, this is the only time that that can be considered, basically, when an emergent Pashtun block is in place (not the Awami National Party because that is largely a joke)

You make one mistake..calling yourself Sunnis. Majority of Pashtuns just accept half of Islam and Qoran. How you call that? Islamic? 90% of Pashtunwali is against the laws of Qoran and Islam. I don´t talk here about Pashtuns who grow up among non-Pashtuns and who learned another version of Islam I mean the Pasthun Islam mostly you can see in the rural regions and in the two urban centres, Kandahar and Peshawar. Compare a ''Sunni'' Pashtun with a Sunni Panjabi, Uzbek or Indian you will see how differnt they are. The only people who could really called as Sunnis are the Taliban.Originally posted by Ghorzang View PostPunjabi language and culture is almost the weakest in Pakistan. The lingua franca and national language of Pakistan is Urdu, not Punjabi. Pashto language is taught as a subject in schools, while Punjabi isn't - from what I have heard. There is absolutely no room for us to compare Persian with Punjabi or Iran with Pakistan. They are far more superior culturally, linguistically, economically, politically or in any other aspect than any other country in that region.
Any union with Iran will be disastrous for us Pashtuns, our language, our culture and our religion (Sunni-Islam).
Absolutely agree with you here.
If we were to ever create a union between Afghanistan & Pakistan, it is very likely that Pashtuns will be able to dominate it - well not if they remain asleep.

Buddhism or Hinduism hs nothing to do with races. Many Pashtuns, specially in Pakistan are by race ''Indians''. Ghalzai are children of Turks and today Pashtunized. then why were you mentioning it in the first place? Many Pashtuns in Pakistan are by race Indian? Many Tajiks in Panjshir are by race Indian. The region has been intermixed for thousands of years.

Don't tell me when you look at Ahmad Zia Massoud you don't see some semblance of an Indian heritage. And he's brother of your favorite hero.
original canaanite origin? You need to read modern genetics then. Because that statement is absurd.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
Well, I see a Caucasian... i don´t see any dark-skinned Indian-like man. However, Indians, Tajiks or Pashtuns share the same ancestory but the stupid claim of your coward brother Panjabis can join India because of this and that was ridicolous. Panjabistan and Pakistan are real and not a single Pathan or an AFghan Pashtun, even united, can do anything against Pakistan.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View Postthen why were you mentioning it in the first place? Yeah, my heroe´s brother lol stay stupid my dravidian Talib friend
Ps: we need modern genetics on specific tribes like the Arab-in-breed of Ahmadzai Pashtuns who got intermixxed with Indians and Dravidians. The Jewish part among the Afridis maybe lost for 1000years ago but you can filter the jewish part on them.. just go for a specific tribal test and not like the most studies just collecting people from a region like Peshawar where the Indians and Panjabis dominate that region for 4000years.Last edited by Guest; 05-06-2012, 12:25 PM.

Indians are Caucasians too, so of course you'd see a caucasian. But for you to say this Ahmad Zia Massoud doesn't look Indian, just says you're in denial.
Don't worry about AbbassiAfghan, let him say as he wishes, his words dion't affect you.
You just make yourself sound more idiotic relying on stories and cultural myths than science.
Just google Pashtun genetics and see what comes up, maybe you're afraid to, because that would mean seeing how absurd your argument sounds to better educated people.
This Ahmad Zia Massoud looks more Dravidian than even the Dravidian people! l
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
