  • People of FATA and KP are Afghans.

Who in Afghanistan or FATA is scared? You would think that the last decade of unrest might be an indication to you for an answer.

what makes you think anything will change? Who are the ones blowing their horns?

And, are you supporting the US war?

    • l they had 10 years with all the high tech weapons, a bunch of stooges, and 48 other nations.

      They lost the war.

there is nothing else to it

You think North Korea or Iran are scared? Are they perhaps shaking in fear?

      Who?

      • it seems to me, the taliban helping destabilise pakistan is of benefit to those who want pakistan in a shambles, so they can take advantage of that. did the americans deliberately chase the taliban into pakistan or the taliban have more places and people to hide behind there?

        • Mr. Bengali_Tiger, you've turned out to be a typical South Asian( I didn't expect that from you)---trying to play on the raw sentiments of the folk here---Maulana Bashani was a Maoist (Chinese agent) and Fazlul Haq and Shiekh Mujib had Indian backing according to Pakistanis---

Banglais won their freedom through Indian support---was that ghairath or baighairathi...? How is it that support of foreign powers is ok for Bangalis to win their war of national liberation but it is baigharathi for Pashtuns, haan?

By the way I have found South Asians to be a strange people not the kind of morally fair people as one would expect them to be...

....they haven't been Afghans for over 100 years. who are we fooling here?

Why would people in Afghanisstan be scared? The Taliban don't represent Afghanistan, they represent the ISI

                    1. Fazlul Haque was dead by the time of the 1971 war, long before. You don't know much about the Bangladesh war of liberation as is evident from your above post. Bhashani was not a Chinese agent, but merely pro-Chinese whereas Wali Khan was not a Soviet agent. Your deliberate misattribution of pro-Pakistani army sentiments to me, an army which carried out genocide in East Pakistan, is distasteful as is your support for the murder of Pashtun children.

                    2. The Bengali liberation movement did not ask foreign powers to bomb Bengali civilians and men, women and children. They fought US-backed Pakistani soldiers. There is a difference between fighting an army in a guerilla war and killing your own people. Bengali commandos carried out naval/amphibious operations where they destroyed Punjabi naval forces, aerial operations and of course ground operations. They enjoyed mass support. Pashtuns as a people do not support drone attacks.

ANP President demanded an end to drone attacks 1 پریس کانفرنس پارٹ - YouTube

Therefore Pashtuns, ANP leaders and forum members here are also "unfair" like "typical South Asians" as most of them support the Bengali war of liberation, but at the same time are against US drone attacks in Pakhtunkhwa, exactly the same position as me.

Since I know you will seek to intentionally provoke me by deliberately misrepresenting me and lying, I will place you temporarily on ignore, for this thread (then remove it), whereas prolific troublemakers and trolls "ScimitarXEedge" and "Aab-e-Hayat" are placed on permanent ignore. This will enable me to focus on this thread, a highly important thread which is about the world's sole super-power or hyperpower in a war against a nation of 180 million.

Former ISI chief lt gen (retd) Hameed Gul has said that the time has come when the government should tell the US clearly that it should not try to take revenge of failure in Afghanistan from Pakistan, adding that Pakistan Air Force had put its defence system on red alert on Sunday night due to US flights on Pak-Afghan border....

Hameed Gul said that Pakistan Air Force alerted its defence system due to flights of US fighter planes near border on Sunday night and this event was not reported in media. He said that the visit of Chinese vice prime minister scheduled to be start today (Monday) and meeting of Corps commanders is a signal which says that the civil and military leadership has common understanding regarding the threats faced by the country.

                          • Nation stands by Army for country’s defence: Iftikhar

                            Published: September 26, 2011

PESAHWAR - Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Minister for Information and Public Relations Iftikhar Hussain has condemned attack on the personnel of aman lashkar at Kharkai hill in Dir on Saturday.

In a statement, he has termed the attack a part of the impact of US policymakers wrong statements. He termed it a direct attack on the integrity of Pakistan. He said that despite their continuous fighting against terrorists they were always prepared to offer any sacrifice for the country’s protection, national unity and freedom. He regretted that despite presence of proper forums, the US chose to give vent to its anger through press.

Referring to the US allegations regarding relations between Pakistan and the Haqqani network, Mian Iftikhar Hussain stated the it was the US who created the said network and provided it with both financial and technical support. He said the security in Afghanistan was the responsibility of the Afghan government, Nato and the American. He said the US should not blame Pakistan for its own failure. He warned that the whole Pakistani nation and its army were united for the defence of Pakistan, adding that when it came to country’s defence all the political affiliations were set aside.

He warned that being Pakhtuns they knew how to defend their homeland and they would never hesitate to render any sacrifice whenever needed. Mian Iftikhar Hussain said they wanted peace in the region and friendly relations with all the countries of the world including USA, but they could differentiate between friendly relations and slavery. He said the US should also keep this difference in mind.

Expressing his support with the aman lashkar in Dir on behalf of both the federal and provincial governments, the minister prayed for the departed souls and expressed sympathies with the bereaved families. He also prayed for early recovery of the injured.

                            • Imran warns of fierce resistance if US attacks Pakistan

                              our correspondent
                              Monday, September 26, 2011

GUJRANWALA: Pakistanis would put up the most fierce resistance if the United States sends its forces to Waziristan, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan warned on Sunday.

Addressing a public meeting at Liaquat Park, he said President Zardari and his government have failed to provide amenities to the poor people, check price-hike and eliminate corruption from the country. He said the country was sinking but the president was busy in robbing its people.

He said the change was imminent and it could not be averted. Khan said he had always opposed subservience to the USA and deploying the Pakistan Army for the cause of the United States. He said Pakistan had no role in the 9/11 incident and, therefore, it needed not fight others’ wars. He said Pakistan had already suffered huge losses of life and property in fighting the US war.

Khan said Pakistan’s greedy leaders were selling their conscience for US dollars. He said America was pitted against Afghan people and it was set to face defeat ultimately. He termed President Zardari a coward leader and said the nation needed self-respecting brave leaders.

He pledged to rid the country of American slavery. The PTI chief appealed to the people raise funds for the flood-stricken people of Sindh. Our reporter adds from Lahore: PTI Chairman Imran Khan said the US was blaming Pakistan for its defeat in Afghanistan but the nation would foil any bid meant to challenge our sovereignty.

Imran lamented that the country’s leaders were busy shopping in Dubai and London and they has no concern with the sufferings of this country. Due to their corruption and lack of governance today Pakistan is facing all types of pressures internally and externally.

                              • In case of conflict; i see USAF dominating the skies as we don't really have any formidable air superiority fighter against F18's etc. And possibly the bugged f16 B52 will just refuse to lock on USAF planes!!!
However on the ground it will be a different situation; US army will get hammered, no doubt, provided we can shield our units from cruise missiles & B-2's

Pakistani religious scholars call for mobilization if the US attacks and..

The scholars called upon the government to end the country’s role as front-line state in the so-called US war on terror and try to establish a new bloc comprising China, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan....

They urged all politicians to bring back their assets from abroad as well as returning bank loans got through political influence.

                                http://www.defence.pk/forums/u-s-for...s-fata-17.html

HA! They can't control Afghanistan. They are gonna attack Pakistan. Not gonna happen. Anything above a tactical strike is something they can not sustain.

                                Pakistani

Me: They have thousands of soldiers on the ground there and bases, they are talking about a limited ground operation, easily achievable.

they will probably just attack areas in khyber pukhtunkhwa through aerial bombing.

                                Pakistani

Me: So that would mean no change

Do you guys know how many billions of dollars you need for a military assault? The cost of positioning air assets and troops? Secondly we aren't Iraq or Afghanistan. They can't think of any form of an incursion. The cost would be too high militarily and in body count. Lastly they do not have enough planes on the ground to conduct an air strike a la Libya or Iraq.

                                Pakistani

Me: Did they spend billions on the Abbotabad raid for Osama? If they did that they can just carry out another ground operation in Waziristan as they are doing west of Durrand as present.

I don't know if they will attack now or not.. the US elections are coming and the current government needs a drama before that. Yes there is a likelihood..

If God forbid another major terrorist attack happens now, with the current euphoria being created against Pakistan.. there will be so much public pressure on the current US government that they will have to attack Pakistan. I don't think it will be a matter of choice anymore for the current US leadership.

I really don't understand people who think there is no possibility. There is a very strong possibility of US attacking Pakistan. Our ghairat brigade lives in illusions regarding the military capabilities of Pakistan. Also we have to understand that there is a global consensus against terrorism, and there is no doubt that Pakistan is the major home for all the terrorist related groups in the world, with or without the official backing of our establishment.

The very serious question for Pakistan is that is it in our national interest to be against the whole world opinion. People who think any other nation in the world will come to stand with us in any situation like war live in an illusion. Do we really have to follow the ghairat brigade in our country and suffer a huge economic and collateral damage. We need to act really with caution and sense must prevail at this moment. Our priority should be the economic well-being of the country than protecting or refusing to act against any sort of terrorist outfits of what-so-ever type...

                                Pakistani

Me: Pakistani nationalists as the poster pointed out correctly, hugely overestimate their military capability especially against the US. This event may just be part of the long-term build up to something major. Above posts from: http://www.paklinks.com/gs/pakistan-...-pakistan.html
