The Islamabad government was giving them money, there was never a war and there were no real problems with Afghanistan as there was nothing but a fictious imaginary border which only existed on library books.

Tribals are fiercely independent and did not even really accept the rule of Ahmad Shah Abdali, nor were they keen on Badshah Khan either.

I stated that the TTP lost support from the tribals as they were brutal and cruel.

The tribals may/may not join in a war against America. The key word here is "may". We will have to see how things go.

      2. Muslim empathy is Muslim empathy for Pashtuns who are far more religious and Islamic than convert Hindus of Heera Mandi, who misuse Islam for their own benefit but have a lot of Brahmanism, casteism and Hindu-based racism in their Punjabi culture.

Anti-Americanism is not relevant here, as I am merely carrying out political analysis. The tribals have no sentimental attachment for America which would restrain them from fighting them, they do have sentimental attachment to Islam, Pashtunwali....and yes, even to a far lesser extent, some of them...Pakistan. All factors which would influence what decisions they make. They would think twice about fighting the Pakistan army which has thousands and thousands of Pashtuns in it, but not hesitate to attack American troops if they decided to.
Every South Asian east of Indus (-all made from the same stuff by the way-)thinks Muslim honour can be restored through the brave struggle of the Pashtun----The fact is a lot has changed on the Pashtun Land itself --and there is a lot of gray-line there....When the moment comes, you will see how the table turns on Pakistani Punjabi army...

Instead there are suggestions that the US could increase the tempo of CIA-directed drone strikes against the Haqqanis, including on populated urban areas that the CIA has previously avoided.
One likely target would be Miran Shah, the main town in North Waziristan, where US officials complain the Haqqani leadership lives in close proximity to a major Pakistani base

This is nonsense. The US has bombed and killed Pashtuns in Miranshah before, a small town in FATA, and not a major town like Pekhawar, Kohat or Mardan.

MIRANSHAH, (SANA): At least four people were killed and two others injured in the result of US drone strike on Tuesday at Miranshah at North Waziristan Agency.

The unmanned aircraft fired two missiles, hitting a compound and a vehicle parked near a girl’s school in Miranshah, resulting in death of four people including a child and two women.

Four drones were still hovering over the area, which created panic among the residents and created hindrances in the relief activities; meanwhile the identity of the killed persons has not been yet known
        http://www.sananews.net/english/2011...-in-miranshah/

I think the US is backing down.

If "experts" are saying that the US is going to carry out drone attacks - which it is already doing - on places like Miranshah - which it is already doing - it is basically an Anglo-Saxon way of saying that nothing will change.

If this is the case and the US has backed down, it seems once again the Chinese dragon played geo-political chess skillfully and played a master move against the American snake.

Lol...the Pakistanis can bomb the US embassy in Kabul and basically get away with it, with big brother China warning the US...hilarious.

        However things may change......

The Pashtun is more concerned about feeding his family. Job opportunities in Peshawar, if not Peshawar then maybe Lahore, or maybe Karachi. If not Karachi then beyond his own state across the sea to Qatar, Dubai, Saudi Arabia to a land of foreigners in his pursuit of bread. Thus I entertain no romantic notions of the warrior Pashtun fighting for Islam, which is why I do not want them to be fighting and being killed in an American war against them. I would not support an American attack on FATA.

          This is why:

Supporting a NATO/US attack on Pashtuns is easy from Canada but in FATA people have lost their loved ones.

Pakistani Punjabi army are cowards, so I do not need to "see", as I have already seen. They belong to a state which is bombed daily by the US.

On forum.pakistanidefence, one of the notorious moderators there, a Mirpuri/Punjabi, called Platinum786 first used to say if Pakistan does not stop drone attacks, he would be disgusted, renounce Pakistan and burn his Pakistani passport in front of the consulate in Birmingham (central England).

Needless to say Pakistan didn't stop the attacks and the Punjabi (who by the way said there should have been more massacres and killing in East Pakistan) did not fulfil his "promise".

I think you are trying to play on Pashtun sentiments .....Anyhow, for the sake of courtesy, I will say nothing more to you except that besides being a Pashtun, my whole extended family lives there so naturally I should be more concerned not just for the immediate safety of Pashtuns but their long-term security (from oppression, terrorism) and prosperity...

this toramana is a big fib.

He is not a nationalist at all, but rather a opportunist secularist.

This person supports war against the whole Afghan nation as well as FATA and as well as anyone else.

He does this because this "so-called Pashtun nationalsts" fake nationalists, have no framework or support whatsoever within the rural Afghan tribal structure, so they resort to supporting foreigners.

There is no support for these "so-called Pashtun nationalists" within KP, and definitely not in FATA and Afghanistan proper.
              .

              Bengal Tiger,

in truth this guy is a supporter of war on Afghans because he despises the conservatism associated with Afghan culture.

His beef is with a whole culture. His anti-Islam is just a pretext and disguise.

If they had any foot soldiers or support in the first place, you think they would be supporting foreigners?

Their support for foreigners shows how much faith they have in their false facade of "Pashtun nationalism."

furthermore, putting aside the fact that nationalism is harram, these people like Toramana and Pir_Rokhan are an insult to the very term nationalism.

Never in history have nationalist supported war upon their own nation. There is no example as such, ever.

Secondly, the reason they resort to such lows in supporting US or Soviets is because they have no support within the rural and conservative Afghan framework.

People reject them , and hence, that is the reason for their support for foreigner war against Afghanistan. There is no other alternative for them. They have no foot soldiers. They have no one who is willing to die and fight for their secular ideas. In reality, i don't even think they have any ideals at all. They just are opposed to Islam, thats all

                These people are insignificant

The future belongs to those who are freeing their homeland.

                          Play on Pashtun sentiments?

Let's look at this logically. Question, do you (general you) support a US attack on FATA?

                          1. Yes.

                          2. No.

I chose no.2 for very logical reasons. Do you think that people that live in North Waziristan would want an attack?

Most of these people did reject the militants and had enough of them, of course, but no one wants more bloodshed.

How is that playing on Pashtun sentiments? Not wanting Pashtuns to be bombed is "playing" on their sentiments?

It reminds me of when the Americans exterminated a whole village and killed everyone there and destroyed every building and said "the village has been liberated".

I accept that you have infinitely far more attached with Pashtunkhwa than I do (I really don't have any), so don't be offended by anything I said. However the realities of Miranshah are far removed even from people living comfortably in Hayatbad, Peshawar in the same way wealthy middle-class Lahoris care little for the plight of Punjabis/Saraikis in poverty-stricken rural Punjab. People are suffering in FATA, people are dying.

By the way I don't understand this love for American missiles and bombs when Bacha Khan himself was a man opposed to violence.

But I accept that of course naturally you feel more for, and care more for your watan than I would.

Checkmate: Don't worry, I know who Toramana is. I first "met" him 5 years ago on another Pashtun forum called "Chaikaana".

As for Pir_Rokhan, I know him from Khyberwatch, and it was him and someone called "Shayesta" who invited me here.
