OK< Alchemist that's a reasonable explanation.
I appreciate the detailing.
I am naturally limiting my Taliban category to Number 3.
About Number 1, are these really remotely taliban?
I won't even capitalize the word...because
I'm sure they are simple false flaggers and agents
of foreign powers, the usual suspects, of course.
So they are Faux-Taliban at very best.
Why could an unaccompanied female journalist not have traveled
in Afghanistan in the late 1990s - because of a need for a mahram?
I'm sorry I wasn't around at that time - I truly wish I had gone in that time
and I may have had I known the relatively quiet era for Afghanistan
would end so abruptly with what I consider to be a conjured up
excuse to decimate the country by voraciously greedy Westerners and their
accomplices.
Actually, now that I remember, I DID apply for a visa to go to Afghanistan in '99.
But despite the goodwill and politeness of all the staff at the "Taliban Embasy"
in Islamabad, by protocol,
the process had to be referred to Kabul which would take 3-4 weeks.
I had only a week to wait, while at a Silk Route travel convention in Gilgit and Hunza, so had to reluctantly let that project go.
Just think, had I had a month to wait for approval, I would have all sorts
of firsthand accounts of that time to relate here !
