OK< Alchemist that's a reasonable explanation.
I appreciate the detailing.
I am naturally limiting my Taliban category to Number 3.

About Number 1, are these really remotely taliban?
I won't even capitalize the word...because
I'm sure they are simple false flaggers and agents
of foreign powers, the usual suspects, of course.

So they are Faux-Taliban at very best.

Why could an unaccompanied female journalist not have traveled
in Afghanistan in the late 1990s - because of a need for a mahram?

I'm sorry I wasn't around at that time - I truly wish I had gone in that time
and I may have had I known the relatively quiet era for Afghanistan
would end so abruptly with what I consider to be a conjured up
excuse to decimate the country by voraciously greedy Westerners and their
accomplices.

Actually, now that I remember, I DID apply for a visa to go to Afghanistan in '99.
But despite the goodwill and politeness of all the staff at the "Taliban Embasy"
in Islamabad, by protocol,
the process had to be referred to Kabul which would take 3-4 weeks.
I had only a week to wait, while at a Silk Route travel convention in Gilgit and Hunza, so had to reluctantly let that project go.

Just think, had I had a month to wait for approval, I would have all sorts
of firsthand accounts of that time to relate here !

After the NATO invasion, the nation has turned into a drug producing haven. Everyone from the Taliban, the Afghan government, NA, NATO and criminal gangs are involved in the drug trade. How could you not have corruption in a nation that has its major part of its GDP from the drug trade. It is impossible to root out corruption without eliminating the drug problem.

khushal, the opium is not the problem, the illegal usage of it is. it could be used to benefit many afghan farmers if it was made into legal painkillers. there is a worldwide shortage of morphine for medicinal purposes and even england is growing opium. australia is the largest producer of opium for pharmaceutical companies, with 20,000 hectares under cultivation.
why should afghan farmers who have some of the best knowledge of producing this product, be disenfranchised, whilst countries like australia and england benefit?

widows were starving to death because they couldn't leave their homes
and you think you could have backpacked through afghanistan alone?
If they return they will implement the same old policies as before ...so you wouldn't see a female Afghan journalist. You might take that to be a positive thing, then what about you?

The taliban have tried to consolidate the different factions under one leadership but so far they haven't been able to do so. Each faction seems to operate according to it's own plans...so who knows what sort of batles will ensue should the us pull out. What is keeping the war funded is ultimately the us and nato...since construction and rebuilding is coordinated by locals and talibans in such a fashion that each would profit from any .

GOE,
After watching you alienate pashtuns east of the durrand...I dun really care what you think of me.

say hi to that mazari ******* who you never mention in your rantings.

remmeber : we Pashtuns will rule afghanistan till the end of time ,you are either with us or against us.

i dont alieniate my brothers in oukhtunkhwa i just make a difference between what a traitor is and what a real pukhtun is.You wish i did.

you on the other hand are exposed, you thought we didnt realise you backing up for kabulzada and other anti pashtuns on this forum?

you propaganda about taliban is merely inspired by your hatred for sunni muslims since you are a shia ,so you make up all types of propaganda to justify your anti Afghanism.

you are yet to show evidence that taliban are dealing in drugs, but i could show you evidence that they had eradicated the whole trade ,which someone such as you doesnt like.

lets talk about mazari and other hazara shias who are playing the victim card with their using jewy tactics.

people who hate Sunni muslims say the word wahabi to justify their hatred and people who hate Pashtuns use the word Taliban to justify their hatred.

listen to this anti Pashtun and see how he is using neocon rhetoric of "not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists are muslims"
now he is using the same saying "taliban are Pashtuns but Pashtuns are not taliban"

YouTube - ‪Amrullah Saleh: Are all Pashtun's taliban?‬‏

its time to unpack the present.

you as are dull witted as you are brazen..

I don't like repeating my self so get it right this once:

I am not supporting the invaders, America and ISAF and I am not shia...

Also ... you can keep dreaming about US pulling out of Afghanistan. Face the reality son...they are there to stay and wage more wars. They are setting up the stage for something much bigger. They are just getting warmed up in Pakistan and slowly pushing for Iran... what makes you think they'll just turn tail and go back home? This has been the longest war the US has been engaged in, in it's history...what are the signs that it will leave this year or the next? Wake up and smell the opium buddy...

p.s why don't you ask nokia, esapxai, manzerah, luffy and the rest if they like your troll tactics so far?

i disagree

iran is insignificant

iran is an ally of US since they helped them invade Afghanistan.
believe me ,they will leave.

they will leave cuz Afghans have rejected their drams of permanent bases, they will leave cuz Afghan nation is against them, they will leave cuz their economy is moving downwards, they will leave cuz its afghanistan(where empires come to die).

other signs are "they killed osama" and "the person who wanted to be next osama"

read some history ,you think Afghans are weak?

btw why iran?

Forget Afghan nation, even Americans are against their government being in Afghanistan ...so if they won't listen to their own subjects, why you?
Hundreds of thousands of people protested around the world before the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq...did they listen then? Every G8, G20 people pelt eggs and tomatoes at them...do they care?

In reality their economy has been moving downward since the 20s but they've managed to pull the levers and turn the pipes here and there...outsource to poor countries for cheap labour, create part time jobs to hide real unemployment costs, indebt the average person and eat their pension...if you look at it more carefully wars actually feed their economy. Do you know what the budget for the pentagon was this year? Their budget is actually going up!

And you actually believe they killed OBL a month ago? That was just the tail wagging the dog.

Iran is an Ally of America?

You didn't hear bennyman's speach at US congress? What Obama has been saying so far? The sanctions imposed on Iran? You don't know about it?

The problem with you is that you talk more than you know. A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

This is a question of Afghan strengh or weakness. Historically Afghans have even supported their own Government...let alone a foreign government. What you keep doing is feeding your ego instead of your mind.
The more you look into this the less black and white it will all appear.

winning and losing isn't as clear cut as it used to be in the days when warriors fought face to face with sword and shields.

In reality we Afghans have been losing for a long time...

thats right but we did win too but the winning wasnt = to what we had lost (afghans + Infrastructure + life + ...)
the sword and shields will come again inshallah .
one think every one should know that even if taliban stoped the war (which wont happen else the NATO get out of afg ) the USA wont get out of afg and they will make another excuse .
first thier excuse was osama khodi de wabakhi and now they make another excuse .

lets waite and see.

the people demonstrating in afghanistan is directly against the present foreign invaders while in america its mostly liberal hippies who are beaten down by fox and likes.

i agree that this war is feeding their economie but it mostly goes to the military industries and othe rbig companies and not theaverage man.

it not important if they really killed obl or not ,lets assume they did.

yes iran is the otherside of the coin, iran has done alot to make it possible that the Americans invade Afghanistan for example they have helped organise the northern alliance and in return Iran has influence mostly through shias and ismalis in the Afghan government,Iran also gets major developement projects such as building a electricity dam in Kunar.above all Taliban(sunni) were considered enemy by Iran(shia).
listen to this x presiden tof Iran
YouTube - ‪Iran the hypocrite, Muslims beware of that‬‏

irrelevant and not working.

Sometimes knowing too much is not enough if you wish to stay ignorant or misinformed.

Unneccesary rant and totally false analogy.

the military and the "big companies" pretty much makes up Amerikaa...so what are you waiting for? for the average man to turn to a beggar ...and then join the army?

And since when did demonstrations stop invaders?

The fact that you think Iran is an Ally of America goes to show how ignorant you really are about the politics of reality. Iran was branded by Bush as an axis of evil and imposed all sorts of sanctions on it....and you think that's a sign of frienship?

Sure, you can find youtube videos to support any point you want because there are literally billions of vid on that site. You can even find vids that show taliban commanders reporting that they have been trained by Iranian agencies on how to fight the invaders, even vids that show americans siezing ammunition trucks with "made in iran" written on it...but the fact remains that Iran has poured money into Herat, one of the more prosperous cities of Afghanistan, and they aren't even a shia majority there. You can believe what you want to in regards to shias ...but overall, you are trying to fit the world into your adopted views, rather than adapt your views to the realities of the world.

I wouldn't say that Iranians threw the first stone...the taliban executed iranian dilpomates and massacred shias where ever they could find them and generally those sorts of actions are considered acts of war. And LOL @ Iranians supporting Ismailies. More proof of your own ignorance...twelver shias despise Ismailies...how many iranian ismailies have you met? You think just because ismailies call them selves shia they become allies of Iran? Where did you get this from anyway? Rumoures you heard at the local coffee shop?

This is why you and kabulzada have the same insane mentality, you are just a little bit more chalak than he is. Those diplomats were considered spies by the Taliban since they were advising their enemies. If NA caught Pakistani diplomats with the Taliban, they would have done the exact same thing. Those massacres you talk about, the killings there were actions and reactions where Abdul Malik killed thousands of Pashtuns. But of course you would clap your hands when you hear about pashtuns being killed.
