I will directly quote a Punjabi friend of mine here:
"I don't care how many Afghanis die as long as the security and interests of Pakistan are ensured".
When he said this, I told him that I share the same language, culture and history with those "Afghanis" and his reaction was, "so what? You and I are Pakistanis and our 'collective' interest comes before Afghanistan's".
Unlike us Pashtuns, the cultural and ethnic Pakistanis (Urdus and Punjabis) view tribal/village Pashtuns and Afghans as outsiders and they care little for their standards of living or even their very existence. The post above by GreenMan might come across as a trolling attempt but this is exactly how all Pakistanis think. "We'll bomb Afghanistan!". And these are the same people who just can't stop talking about the Babri Mosque incident and the Gujarat massacres and Srinagar.. because they share cultural and ethnic links with those people in India. But the cultural and ethnic links of the Pashtuns is not considered here and if you care about the dignity and very existence of the Pashtuns across the Durrand divide, you're labeled a traitor.
