With due respect guys, I absolutely respect what Saleh is doing, and the chants of death to Punjabis and Taliban are great, but its a dissapointing reality that Pashtuns do not have the gutts to do something similar, as they fear a ISI reprisal.

Secondly, we must remember, who Ahmad Shah Masood was, he was the guy who was trained by Bhutto, armed to the teeth by Pakistans ISI and sent to overthrow the Afghan government in Panshir, even Hameed gul stated he was too involved in the uprising in Pansjir.

These Pansjiri are opportunists just like the Punjabis are and the Pashtun elements of Taliban, these guys are the same people who based their movement under the name of Jamiet Islami in Peshawer and complained about how Secular and unislamic the Afghanistan governemnt is, they are just as Radical as Taliban.

However, I am impressed by their protest agaisnt Pakistan but their intentions are Questionable.

Gulabo, these same Minorities were the first to join hands with Pakistans ISI to limit the influence of Pashtuns, to be honest I couldnt care less what they say.

if the taliban return in their former form, would they be acceptable to the afghan people and how can one make sure that Taliban will not be just as corrupt as these leaders are once they reach power? its easy to be pious without power you know.
The Afghan Muslims do not want power, only removal of foreigners, and the establishment and implementation of Sharia.

The Taliban arose due the factional fighting brought by members who then formed the Northern Alliance.

All the infighting after the Soviet defeat was due to members who made up the Northern Alliance. The Taliban were a response to all this disorder and chaos, and again are a response to all the disorder and chaos due to foreign aggression.

I would also like to note, that these Kabulis or whatever you want to call them, have demostrated the gutts to confront Punjabs evil imperialistic designs, on the other hand Pashtuns are protesting the American killing of Bin Laden in Peshawer, maybe 100 attended plus Lawyers were also present in support of Bin Laden.

Why is the Pashtun Leadership silent on this issue, I think its time to take advantage over it, Americans are already stroking Pakistans head in forgiveness.

Quite wrong, the Afghans are now providing their own security and their own ideas. No need for the Taliban to force their securities nor their ideas on the people.

Do you think we are pro the *******s on the other side of the pond? So what differnce does it make. Just how the Norther Alliance mokeys were reconciled with so should be the Taliban with. These *******s have a much worst record to present to us than the Taliban. They are responsible for everything. While they never ruled outside their little warlord-doms, they Taliban had an established rule over 95% of the country. So how can they be from the moon or Panjab. I understand and I persoanlly do not agree with their ideology and way of governance, but I also think they are reality and should be reconcilled and made peace with. He is talking about democracy as if Northern Alliance are a democratic party, and there is full on party politics in Afghanistan and democracy in its pinnacle. While the truth is we are still not past the Bonn process and the current government is the sort of national unity government as the first and second term of Karzai. While they hold key posts in the government another wing of the NA are the so called opposition. I think Taliban should be also given their fair share. Fvck NA if they don't feel comfortable.

Pashtuns fear ISI and its sponsored Taliban so much that they evaded voting in ghazni but later on started protests for re-poll.

How can any sane minded Afghan accept the Taliban, after all this exposure.

I know sure 8 in every 10 Afghan knows Taliban are a instrument of the Punjabi/Pakistani Imperialist Empire.

Its logical sense! Who is going to accept a movement that brutally suppresses people whom it considers as kuffur or against their policies.

Plus which Afghan is going to shake hands with a Talib, who attacks civilians? Come on guys!

Northern alliance is a lot better, these Paki sponsored Taliban are the boot lickers of the Punjabi army, they have lost the courage to the challenge them.

Look! What they did to Mula Biradar when he dared to talk to Afghan leadership on his own.

No sorry Maseed, Taliban are producce of the local dynamics. Every entity in Afghanistan that has been part of the war had and still does have foreign support. Non of them were printing their own US dollars and not did they have their own weapons and amo industry. They all sought foreign help. Taliban are driven to the foreign hands to. Lets be fair.

If I was a Talib and my only source of help was Pakis then I would also be cool with them. :-)

Don't expect them to be supermen and fight every one. The U.S. enough to resist for them, looking it objectively.

Whats the guarentee that they won't be palying ISI's game on Afghan soil?

all this talk about implementing sharia is good and dandy and I am sure most Afghans do support that, thats not the point. The point is how will Taliban distance themselves from their previous misdeeds? People like Ismail Khan are very popular in herat, and he is a well known mujahid from the time of soviets. will Taliban negotiate with such people if they promose to uphold the sharia?
Taliban for Afghan are like snakes in the sleeves, they are sold out to the enemies of Afghans, they can't be relied on even 1%.

Afghans do have American support...while we are here. I'm not sure that we'll be supporting Afghans forever...once we leave we'll have other issues to deal with (hopefully in our own country.)

Keep in mind the "printing of us dollars" relates to jobs we have given to Afghans to help the economy. As far as their own weapons and ammo industry...no not yet...but in time with an increased economy comes with it an increased "everything else."

Taliban are misguided and stupid and can be easily manipulated, but I firmly believe as much as I despise them: they are no one's slaves.

                                Comrade, I agree.

However, I know about the University of Nebraska producing Jihadi Pamplets for Afghan orphans to fight the Soviets, I know the dirty tactics of the West to use our people as Instruments to give the Soviets their vietname, however, Pakistan was much more devious in this case, as they both stole the aid and kept the weapons for their own Favourites I.E Hekmatyar and co.

Khyaal, Northern alliance are just as Islamist as Taliban, except they are more protective of their own races and region while on the other hand our Pashtuns spend most of their time bickering with eachother instead of doing some serious political work.

Mark my words, if a Pashtun government does arise, you will see this same northern alliance join hands with Pakistan.

How can I support bigot traitors and betrayers who left Najibullah to the hands of the ISI?

Remmeber, a Pashtun never forgets his enemies.
