  • Pakistan's PM, DG ISI and COAS visit to Afghanistan

The recent combined visit of the Pakistani PM, DG ISI and COAS visit to afghanistan seems a bit strange to me. The meeting of PM Gilani and Afghan President Hamid Karzai Saib is understandable but that of the DG ISI and COAS visit is quite intriguing. What are your opinions about these two highest ranking Pakistani Army officials to be part of the delegation?

Thats why i say there is some big change going to come in the future after america slapped pak DG ISI in front of the whole world and rejecting their demands. Lets see what happens in the future ...

        irrelevant and politics.

Pakistan damn well know they arent one of the players in Afganistan but since they are mixed in this unwillingly and they willingly choose to use this opportunity.

Pakistan should apologise and do toba.

I have given my view on this topic in another post about the ISI and CIA meeting.
Actually ISI put some demands in front of CIA but CIA totally rejected each and every demand.
now your question is what can happen in the future, so i can't say anything yet... it will be revealed soon but i can say something big can happen.
For the first time Pakistan is so angry with America and thats why it took so quick action and went to Afghanistan...

Yeah, I know it is all politics but what was the purpose of the visit in your opinion? Aftera all apparently the visit wasn't a usual one rather it seemed to be very etraordinary.

Do you really believe Pakistan is not a major player in this whole affair? How can you say this when the top leadership of Taliban (I include Hikmatyar saib also) is hiding there?

O come one ... Pakistan is the major player.... Last time when pakistan closed the NATO supply root, there was no tissue papers in Americans' wash room and they started crying.

But for that there was no need to come to Afghanistan of such a high ranking officials. To facilitate supply was a NATO specific problem. Do you think Pakistan is major player becuase it controls the supply root?

They purposely involved pakistan into this whole issue.
-Pakistan helps Nato carry their resources into afghanistan
                  -Pakistan helps drone programe
-Pakistan handed over the taliban ambassader to america to be locked into Gunatanamo.
-Pakistan takes millions or billions of dollars ot fight "terrorism" in Pukhtunkhwa

YET THEY WANT TO SAY THAT PAKISTAN OR ISI SUPPORTS TALIBAN.

they made up that story as a distraction and pakistan used it wisely to promote themselves as bigger than they are.

I guess this visit is part of that creation and now they are believing into their own lies or making good use of lies created by others.

Pakistan is not just not a major player but their existance is in the hands of Afghanistan. They helped afghanistan get invaded and they put their face into the hornets nest(Pukhtunkhwa).
What is the proof that top leadership of taliban or hekmatyar are in pakistan or under the protection of "isi"?

Hinding in pakistan also doesnt mean they are somehow guests of that country and its institutions.

no you got me wrong... i did not say they have come to afghanistan for opening the root... it happened a three four months ago...

Pakistani top officials have come to Afghanistan to pressurize america and make them realize them its importance by joining with Afghanistan and showing them that if these two countries work together they can make Afghanistan a graveyard for NATO in less than the expected time...
It is not only a show but can bring a big change in the region in the near future

Eemkhan thats not how it works

pakistani fate hangs in the hands of american dollars and before that it was bitiah pound.

                        They can never pressurise Americans.
i guess they know that americans will leave soon and Afghanistan will be furious at Pakistan for their conduct such as how the pakistani currency is used in jalalabad and parts of southern afghanistan and how pakistan plays politics with their export to Afghanistan.

Pakistan knows that when americans leave they will have no importance since their whole scenario was written by americans and their invasion of Afghanistan.

Now when the invasion ends it is likely that pakistan get a set back as their "isi connect, adn them being inportant in future negotiations" is falling apart.

How can you say that Pakistan's existence is in the hands of afghans Seems quite the contrary. Just need to know from you in detail.

Aren't the presence of Quetta Shura and the arrest of Mula Biradar from karachi ample proofs of Talibans' leadership presence in Pakistan?

Hinding in pakistan also doesnt mean they are somehow guests of that country and its institutions.
But they could not hide without Pakistani Security agencies' approval. That makes them guests of the army establishment.

That has been a part of the whole situation but at the moment Pakistan is too much angry over america as Pakistan released Raymond Davis and in return CIA killed 50 men other day... and then rejecting their demands.
You are right Pakistan never likes to loose place in Afghanistan's politics and policies... there is a reason behind this.. Pakistan never wants indian interference in Afghanistan... it is too dangerous for pakistan and you know indian has penetrated too much in Afghanistan in different ways ... so this thing really annoys pakistan.
Pakistan considers Afghanistan a part of its body and considers india a cancer for the region so you can imagine how much pakistan should have concern about the Afghanistan politics

But Afghan-Indian relationship is nothing new just as Paki-chinese relations (both have captured parts of kashmir). Pakistan occupies more afghan land than it does of india, so India becomes a natural ally of Afghanistan. Besides, more than half of Pakistani land actually belongs to Afghanistan.
