"While the assertion that Washington and the West Abandoned the Afghans after the Soviet withdrawal is now accepted as fact, it is an fact entirely inaccurate. From the exit of the last Red Army trooper in 1989 until well after the Afghan communists' defeat in 1992, the United States, Britain, Germany, and the UN worked diligently to install a regime in Kabul that would include representatives of all Afghan groups-- so long as they were not Islamists and had not fought and bled to drive out the USSR. At one point, for example, Washington had three diplomats of ambassadorial rank and one special envoy--Peter Tomsen, Robert Oakley, Phyllis Oakley, and Zalmay Khalilzad--working to produce a regime that would include sophisticated, English speaking, secular Afghans, Afghan technocrats; former communists--even former Afghan communist president Najibullah; supporters of the deposted Afghan king and Afghans who had spent the war making money in America, Europe, Iran, and India. In other words, the West was ready to consider anyone save those who had carried AK47s and killed Soviets. Indeed, a major reason a post Soviet Afghan civil war began was because those who had fought saw their hard-won right to rule being haded by Westerners to Afghans who were nominal Muslims and who had chosen to sit out the war."
Ironically Dr Sheuer's thinking is quite in line with that of the ex ISI Chief Brig Yousaf who was one of the main character in proxy afghan war and who has written this same thing against the West in his book 'The Bear Trap' and his various tv interviews. Pakistani ISI also wanted to impose fundamentalist rule in Afghanistan.

Wrong, he implemented communist doctrines directly onto the people. The idea that mother Russia would somehow make an exception for the laws behind the iron curtain for Afghansitan but not the other central asian republics is absurd.

Dr. Najib's thinking was in line with Stalin's that doesn't mean Stalin was somehow behind Dr. Najib's actions or ideas.

Something doesn't become invalid because of who's ideas are similar, it's the evidence.

give us a logical rebuttal please.

The doctrine appears to apply rigidly to those within the confines of the invaded nation first and foremost with others becoming reserve soldiers that ought to activate. Once again, this is not an advocacy, but this is the proposedsunni theological doctrine.
If technically it is Jihad, then how come none of you are raising arms?

Russia was the reason why Najib killed 1500000. The US aid is what fueled it because there was resistance against him. The US is the root cause of all of Afghanistan's problems, including present day. Yet, it all boils down to Najib because he was a communist. Give me a break.

If Jihad was valid against the Russians, then how come no one is supporting a full fledged jihad against the US? Perhaps, maybe, because it was the US that called the jihad in the first place against the USSR and not the Muslims?

In other words, today, Najib is not committing the atrocities, Muslims are. But that is okay because they are Muslim, and it does not matter that the US is funding them, because the US is not communist.

Do you see that the approach is wrong. Therefore, don't judge a man because he killed. Others are still killing, it is just not official.

Wrong. This statement by the Prophet has been abused by tyrants. Its utility was in the context of uprising against someone like the beloved and wondefrul Uthman ibn Affan, God bless him a thousand times over for being the agent of God's will to preserve the Holy Word from above.

The proof is the execution of the Prophet's order as dilineated by Abu Bakr in his inaugeration speech to the people:

When Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq was made caliph, he delivered a khutba before the people. In it, after describing Allah's praise and laudation, he said: -"0 People! I have been appointed the amir of your caravan though I am not better than you are. If I work properly, help me and if I do not work well, correct me. Truthfulness is a deposit and falsehood is defalcation. The weak amongst you is strong in my sight. I will surely try to remove his pain and suffering. And the strong amongst you is weak to me I will - Allah willing - realise the right from him fully....When obscene things spread among any nation, calamities generally continued to descend upon them. As long as I obey Allah and His messenger, you should obey me, and if I do not obey Allah and His messenger, then obedience to me is not incumbent upon you. (Now prepare for prayer)."

That's a logical fallacy; maligning Najib does not automatically equate to agreeing with "Punjab's Intervention".

Of course! That is what discourse is.

Would you stop your entrapment disillusions. Take your medicine, man.

Wrong. I have family who lived and live in Kabul. People chose their paths. He just made it easy to become a communists, it was not forced. With all due respect, you are wrong here.

But I'm skeptic that you are wasting your time on this topic merely for academic interest. Apart from that we do know each others point of view on so many different issues.
