    • Azmal; I can always count on you to be a good House Slave , how you always try to exonerate the CIA or make it seem they're disassociated with the ISI when ISI is the product of the CIA, always trying to cover up and protect them. But I just want you to know , that they will never see you as a fellow Farangay, no matter how badly you try to prove yourself to them and be like them; you're just a good Third World country servant who's life is trivial. I hope you wake up and realize this one day.

Maybe if you had one shred of dignity or an identity; and I mean a real identity not one mail ordered from Amazon.com; you could find some hope of being liberated instead of being a slave.

I am going to rest a little... lol, to give Azmaal (Ass-smell) as chance to formulate a reasonable come back (usually he starts having anger seizures at this point and his FOB english starts to break down, and we wouldnt want to see that happen).

Tomorrow, when I return, I have some rather strong evidence that is going to pretty much make your night raids, surgical strike theory look like kids without a flash light, lost in the dark, sinking in quick sand. i.e. I wouldnt trust kids lost in the dark with a scalpel my friend... my sister being a surgeon, probably could tell you that excision in the dark is hardly successfull ever. Instead, you will probably cut an artery and see hemorrhage ooops.

What is this zaboomafoo he keeps having seizures about? Is this some code word? Is it the name of the mysterious nonexistent grandmother? Is is Gavin Massino (his real life cousin)'s kid?

Poor Azmal, masquerading around as a Pashtun, and then scurrying back to Tajikam where he giggles like a little girl over how he banged heads with the big bad pashtuns... only to generate a fake Id called Pakistani Defender and then scurry back there again after a Pashtun girl pointed him out.

These nicknames and his obsessions with Mules is getting uncomfortable. I think Azmal was this farsiwaan soldier that was caught copulating with mules and donkeys

Oh, Ill go to sleep a happy man tonight. Thank you Azmal, the entertainment was so very much appreciated.

                  • Barakzai wrora,

I think in light of the bigger picture which includes the US failure in Afghanistan coupled with the economic collapse and the defaulting of debt to China adds to assessment that complete withdrawal is a reality. Karzai can keep begging them all he wants to stay. Notice his change of tune now, as he realizes that they are preparing to leave? He is asking them to stay. At the end of the day, his concerns and desire to stay in power will be no factor in ending this failed war.

When you consider the economic turmoil America is in, and the failure in Afghanistan, it all paints a pretty clear picture. Like the Soviet Union dissolved, the American Empire is breaking apart.

As to special forces being there, they usually sit on the base. They are too scared to roam around anywhere because everyone knows who they are.

Killing civilians in night raids has only backfired.

you call that 'a life'? sad. how does talking about sex with animals enhance the view of your islam and the pashtun people?
how does that show respect for admin khan, the mods and the people who use this forum?
how is getting so upset with this invisble man, asmal, that you lower yourself to the standard where you continue to insult his mother and use such obscene insults, rational and logical behaviour?

You didnt read our back and forth closely.

                        1) Regarding his mother, I did not insult her. He refers to anyone who disagrees with him as a "Paki mule" etc etc and basically slams our brothers on the other side of the line as "Pakis." Yet, he claims to be of the Zikria lineage of the Telai family of the Barakzai tribe. That lineage is descended from the well known daliance that Sultan Muhammad Telai (a very incompetent leader and forefather of incompetent Zahir Shah) had with a slave in the region now referred to as Pakistan. So by his own admission, Azmal comes from Pakistan. Most ginzas of the time were not Pashtun women, but unfortunate Lahoris, etc. He attempted to underplay this once it was obvious and then insulted a whole tribe, the Safi tribe by referring to that lady as having been a Safi slave. The Safi tribe killed a whole contingent of Aurangzebs and British troops for insulting their women, they would have put Telai's balls on ice had he attempted anything of the sort.

                        2) Regarding his other mother, he claims descent from the Iron Amir whose wives and concubines are well documented. Yet he further insults the Pashtuns by claiming it was from a Yusufzai slave woman who is mysteriously absent from the list (now he is insulting a whole nother tribe by claiming that a woman was imported into Kabul to be AbdurRahman's play thing). Mind you both AbdurRahman and Telai were incompetents and the reason that the former NWFP is today not in Afghan hands.

So Faye, I am sorry if I am pointing out the obvious (i.e. Azmal claims descent through Telai and the Iron Amir's concubines from Pakistan, making him doubly Pakistani)

                        3) Regarding sex with animals, I merely noted Azmal's fascination with mules and donkeys. He is so fixated on mules and donkeys that I merely referred him to a press release that I cited. Because his English is so poor quality, and because his writing and font style resembles that of the viruntly anti Pashtun Parsiwaan and other Tajikaam visiters who frequent here to stir up trouble, I figured he might be that ANA soldier that was caught with the mule.

                        4) With the Azmals of the world you have to be vicious and fight back. To invert the Ghandi quote, where he said, an eye for an eye renders the world blind, my mantra with these sell outs, these communist sympathizers who want our brothers dead, is: If they gauge your eye, be willing to gauge both of theirs and render their world blind.

                          • From Hekmat Karzai (relative of the fake President of Afghanistan) and failed Western expat, co written with Abdul Salaam Zaeef. Despite Hekmat's lack of credentials, the article is interesting because it represents the notion that the expat crowd is beginning to see exactly what Michael Scheuer wrote above in the piece above. They understand that the Taliban insurgency is going no where.

                            http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth...225708920.html

                            Why the Taliban needs 'addressing'

Branding the Taliban unworthy of dialogue has acheived nothing - they must be engaged as a legitimate political entity

In December 2009, President Obama sent an additional 30,000 troops to confront growing violence in Afghanistan. Though the impact of the US military and diplomatic surge remains uncertain, we can nevertheless conclude that 2010 was easily the most violent year in the decade-old conflict.

The Taliban's response, however, to this renewed attention by the international community was a surge of their own, which they launched through bold attacks and targeted assassinations of senior Afghan government officials. Their efforts have clearly made an impact on the ground.

The past three decades in Afghan history are filled with nothing but violence: cities turned into rubble; atrocities committed by countless different factions and - most importantly - generations lost to the violence.

Indeed, Afghans are now tired and just want to live in peace in a country where their children can go to school and live a normal life.

The process of reconciliation has become an important demand of Afghans and most are convinced, and will tell you, that the only way to end this bloody conflict is through a political settlement with the Taliban. Of course, there are a few voices that claim this blood bath should continue until the Taliban is "defeated", but their arguments are divorced from the reality on the ground.

There are also indicators that the Taliban have the desire to engage in discussions that could lead to some kind of reconciliation.

On their part, the Afghan government has taken the initiative and created a 70-member High Peace Council (HPC). The HPC has become the leading body working towards reintegration and reconciliation efforts. Their mandate is to reach out and engage the Taliban.

Nonetheless, what is desperately needed is an "address" for the Taliban, which could represent them and open channels for transparent face-to-face interaction. The point of an address would be to turn discussions into dialogue, and dialogue into negotiations.

                            Why an address?
From the outset, coordination of efforts by the international community has been a major challenge in Afghanistan. Governments and major international organisations have always acted in their own interests and according to their policies rather than the demands of the Afghan people.
General David Petreaus, commander of the International Security Assistance Force, described the posture of the international community vis-a-vis the political process as "reconciliation tourism" - insinuating that most influential players on the ground are busily establishing Taliban contacts.

As a result, there is much confusion about the process and its direction.
There are countries that view a political settlement in Afghanistan as an early exit; so naturally they have redirected their efforts. But the question they are not asking is this: Shouldn't the Afghans be leading these efforts?

To make matters worse, many countries lack an understanding of the complex process and the players involved; because of that, their actions are not well thought out or effective. A case in point is the high-level meetings that were held in Kabul with a "shopkeeper", posing as the Taliban's number two operative.

The most important advantage of establishing an address for the Taliban would be to combine the reconciliation efforts that are currently underway into one channel. There are several players vying for the role of a facilitator, uniting these efforts could contribute to a more successful process.

Second, the position of the Taliban on important issues will also become clear in this process. There is a lot of speculation about the Taliban's position, but frankly, no one has a clear idea.

The Taliban's key demand has always been the removal of foreign forces. But what do they think about human rights, education and other important issues? Crucially, what kind of Afghanistan do they aspire to live in?

Third, an important fact the West needs to understand is that there are many different groups that carry out various acts of violence across Afghanistan - and at the end of the day, most of these acts are attributed to the Taliban.

It must also be noted that there are actors who take advantage of this knee-jerk reaction and misuse the identity of the Taliban for their own political purposes. Clear representation of and by the Taliban can put an end to these types of "misunderstandings".

Fourth, it is estimated that around 35 per cent of the schools in southern Afghanistan are closed. The health care situation is even more bleak. A coordinated effort based on consensus with the Taliban can tackle these issues and humanitarian assistance can be delivered to the people who are in urgent need.

Finally, if the Taliban are provided with an address and treated in an acceptable manner by the international community, the Afghan government and the international community can hold them responsible for specific behaviour and demand an explanation for their actions.
Now, where should this address be? Names of a few countries have been debated, but at this stage the best option is to let the Taliban decide. The Afghan government and the international community should throw the ball into their court as a gesture of goodwill, showing that they are indeed sincere about the political process.

2011 is a crucial year for Afghanistan. The way this war has been handled for the past ten years has not - and will not - be successful.
The international community can continue with "more of the same", which will inevitably lead to further violence and loss of innocent lives - or they could embark on a logical and thought-out process, supporting the legitimisation of the Taliban. Naturally, the choice is clear for the Afghan people.

Abdul Salam Zaeef is a former ambassador of the Taliban to Pakistan and author of My Life with the Taliban. He was detained in Pakistan in 2002, and held on the USS Bataan, in Bagram prison and at Guantanamo Bay until 2005. His 2010 interview with Al Jazeera can be watched here.

Hekmat Karzai is the Director of the Centre for Conflict and Peace Studies (CAPS) in Kabul.
