Agreed. Colbert appears to be more reasonable. Stewart at times caters to the interventionists... but for the most part, they are offering the best access in America (which is a shame) to newsworthy matters.

this Hoh fellow is professing civil war in Afghanistan.
he says alot of good things but than he says there was a 30 years civil war in Afghanistan.Thats not true the civil war was after the russiasn were out and the warlords turned on eachother and they still werent representatives of the people.

I think if you listen closely he defines this though.. besides ethnic he means the urban versus religious rural. It comes out when you read his work.

So dont think of this as the warlord on warlord issues.. rather assume he is expanding on this conflict between the Karzai crowed and the rural masses.

I mean that is the way I generally understood it.... that the Soviets backed an urban elite of another form... while the US backs another effiminate, urban, yellow back elite... creating civil disturbance.

yeah in that context i understand.
thats is true also but back than they were supporting the rural conservative vs the "seculer" urban.
now those conservatives became the new "seculer" urban folks(many with beards) and there si this another conservative movement going on.
