  • What is your idea to change the future of Afghans

    I was watching a TV program about creative ideas and wandered if we could find a creative ,innovative ,novel and brilliant but practical IDEA to change the future of Afghans?

    The idea should be practical and should have the potential to bring a positive change in the future of Afghans.

    Lets vote for the best idea by any PF member by giving most THANKS to his/her idea.

    Develop student movements within the education sector where they educate the pashtuns who live in rural areas for free.\

    Take advantage of the Media to educate our pashtun people about the threats both internal and external

      Just one idea or many? I'm not sure if what I've to propose is gonna be all that productive, but I'm all for it anyway.

      Mine is a plan I will be helping to implement the first chance I get, ka khairee. Since everyone agrees that we need education, and we also agree that our kids aren't always learning what they're supposed to be learning, we need someone who genuinely cares about Pukhtuns and our future to supervise what the children learn. There are certain classes that ALL students must have in ALL schools. I realize that government schools are controlled by the government, but that's where we'll have to work and fight harder: fight to have our voice heard about why the untaught classes MUST be taught. These would include humanities, etc. at the very basic level. This way, from the very beginning, kids would be introduced to concepts that are not their own or that their parents aren't likely to teach them. They won't be anything radical, of course. (I'll explain this later with examples.) And there should be a set time reserved solely for reading -- I can't decide which language it'd be in, but I am more for Pashto. English, however, would also do, since everyone must know English in today's world.

      Another idea is for a forum, something primarily for the youth. Since many of us don't know how to have healthy debates, how to hold discussions without attacking each other, or even how to present AND support an argument (opinion or belief) of ours, we need to initiate a platform at some school(s) -- different ones for each school level (from elementary to high school) -- whereby interested students will join and you (the monitor, director) give them specific topic to discuss. Sometimes, the monitor can decide that Group 1 with X number of students will take the Pro side, and Group 2 with X number of students will take the anti side, regardless of which side the students would LIKE to take. I've never been in a debate team at school, but I assume this is how they work, too? So I guess we could call it a debate team. But we'll have to have a minimum number for each school in order to ensure that the team will be active.

      The purpose of this team/forum will be to teach students how to argue in a convincing manner AND to gather constructive ideas for rebuilding our torn nation. Perhaps some ideas discussed could be serious proposals that would need support from Pashtunkhwa and Afghanistan, and the proposal that gets the most support will have to be implemented.

      I'm now more than ever for this idea because yesterday, I was listening to this Pashto program in which these people were having a "discussion." And they weren't talking TO each other! They were talking OVER each other! It was so chaotic I don't know how they think they're gonna get themselves heard with everyone talking at the same time! Hell, that's not how you talk in groups or discussions, damnit. One person talks, everyone else listens; when that person is done, another person talks. If two people start talking at once, one of them is decent and patient enough to let the other talk first. The world won't end if that happens.

        Good Idea Maseed.

        BTW, Is there no political party in Afghanistan whose student wing is already doing this great job?

        You see ideas can change lives.

          Well this is the thing. A great example of a Student Wing is when Zaid Hamid came to Peshawer and our brave Pashtun Student Federation shown him how we feel about Jihadists ISI agents.

          The thing is, our rural Pashtuns are the ones who are at risk of being exploited by our enemies due to their isolation, Pakistan and ISI exploit the people.

          I think a socialistic approach would be best suited to assist our pashtun people. Land should be reformed and Employment should be given to our people.

          I believe that there should be a group of Pashtuns selected from every school,colleges and Universities to go out and assist government work projects in development and assisting our people such as rebuilding homes, easy flow of clean water and helping in farming etc.

          Kind Regards

              Also there should be absolutely no donations from terrorist countries such as Saudi Arabia and any Madrassah funded by outside proxy states should be given to house the homeless instead of future anti government terrorists.

                We must first establish and define our goals and values. Not merely goals of material advancement but, much more importantly, educational, spiritual and moral goals and values which can give direction to its material aspects in a clear-cut manner.
                There should be well-thought-out planning at grass-roots level by a corps of dedicated Pukhtun sociologists, educators and social planners, as well as technical personnel. In that way, Pukhtun social scientists would all work together with their common Pukhtun frame of reference to build, from the ground up, a sound Pukhtun society governed by Pukhtun principles.
                There is another point which is very important. We Pukhtuns have fallen so far behind much of the rest of the world in developing our science and technology that we must now get our knowledge and experience in these areas from those who have them. So today we have to do: to acquire modern skills, education and knowledge from the West, always taking great care not to bring in with them all the undesirable, destructive values and behavior which have gone hand-in-hand with them in the West.
                [COLOR="Purple"][FONT="Century Gothic"]So long as there is the earth and the heavens;
                So long as the world endures;
                So long as there is life in the world;
                So long as a single Afghan breathes;
                There will be this Afghanistan.
                Long live the Afghan nation.
                Long live the Republic.
                Forever there be our national unity

                  We have these ideas as of now.

                  1) Development of student movement to impart political consciousness [Maseed] [Sangar knowing the difference of opinion you have with Maseed , is this what you thought too? Care to elaborate]

                  2) Formation of a supervisory board to invigilate what our students study [syllabus] [Qrratugai]

                  3) Formation of a Youth Forum to educate people about how to hold a debate [Qrratugai]

                  Well you guys will be given the opportunity to advocate your ideas if there are questions from people who want more clarification about your ideas.

                  I guess that the TV channels and telecomm companies [I know the ones in Pakistan] are interested to support and project such persons and might invite those who not only have a NEW IDEA but are also doing something practical about their ideas by themselves.

                  I visited the site of one of the telecom companies in Pakistan to study how they are doing that. I recommend the creative minds pay a visit to the site before posting their idea.

                    Khangul proposes:

                    To acquire modern skills, education and knowledge from the West, always taking great care not to bring in with them all the undesirable, destructive values and behavior which have gone hand-in-hand with them in the West.

                    Jasmine proposes:

                    1) Youth leadership program

                    2) Learn S & T

                    3) Get into Media

                    4) Education till 10th rade should be made obligatory

                    5) Ban on work for age less than 16

                    This seems to be a manifesto for reformation.

                        You mean Afghans need to become slaves of their Pakistani muslim brothers first before thinking anyhting good about their future?

                        Having said that your idea is welcome.

                          The ideas are good ... but the main question is, HOW to implement them?

                          Jasmine, I completely agree with your thoughts. But ... is it possible under our current circumstances to ban work/labor on people until they're 16 years old? Is it a practical thought? Before that, we need to have many other things -- like jobs available FOR those who are old and able enough to work.

                          I think with all the reconstructions we're gonna be having in the coming days, hopefully everyone will have a chance to work, and employment will rise.

                            Nothing will work if we don't separate the clergy from meddling the in the affairs of the government by them lobbying their way by means of blackmailing.

                            After this all ideas can be considered and exercised. Otherwise, we will continue to start from scratch and end up exactly where we began, square one: where we stand today.

                              www.telenor.com.pk/karomumkin

                              Infact it is one question to ask

                              What are your sugggestions and thoughts to have a better future for Afghans

                              While it is quite another to ask

                              Give your IDEA [One New Idea] to change the future of Afghans?

                              I urge you guys to reflect on the later . The examples are in the above cited site.
