    My idea is simple and I am sure its not that hard to be implemented. I demand that the Govt makes a program for all expatriates to return back. We dont want money from the Govt but all we want is security. There are 20,000 Kandaharis in my city alone. Nearly all the men are educated and possess at least a bachelors and some go as far as Ph.D degree. I am sure that at least 1,000 will return and bring intelligence on how to improve our status. When I ask them sometimes at the Park(we have a park full of us lol) they all reject and say Kandahar is the capital of Afghanistan(Taliban era) and we cant return.

    All of these ideas that are being brought forward so far will all fail miserably if the expatriates like Musafira, Admin, Jasmine, Tor Khan, Guley, and others do not return back. How can you control Afghanistan from the west? That is silly and impossible.

    I have a plan that as soon as I get my Ph.D degree I will be returning to Afghanistan and I shall be in contact with you so together we can work for the betterment of Pashtuns in Afghankhwa and Afghanistan.

    Staso wror Shlombay Khan.
    Shlombay Khan, I am not sure if this is a good idea; I see there is a snag in it. It’s a natural desire of every people to have a prosperous and peaceful national home of its own, but without trying to make an attempt to understand the innermost causes of our unhappiness we just can’t circumvent the problem. Also, throwing more and more people at problem do not necessarily solve the problem. The thousand or the one hundred thousand people you are talking about, if returned back to Afghanistan prematurely, will not be more than a lost sheep, hard-put even to survive.
    It was a lucky twist of fortune but not without a purpose that God has placed you in the West. You can still be worthy of service to your home country while residing where you are and via education and the mighty power of the pen Afghans need to reach a level of influence to start rebuilding their country on foundations provided by the Western power politic.
    [COLOR="Purple"][FONT="Century Gothic"]So long as there is the earth and the heavens;
    So long as the world endures;
    So long as there is life in the world;
    So long as a single Afghan breathes;
    There will be this Afghanistan.
    Long live the Afghan nation.
    Long live the Republic.
    Forever there be our national unity

      I would call this a lame excuse. If you dont want to return back to your war-ravaged country with no basic facilities of life then i have no problem with it as its upto you people to take care of your own country....

      If any expat afghan is wishful to do any sacrifice for his country then the best way is to return back and settle.

        Saifullah If educated afghans will not return back to their country, then who you are expecting to run afghanistan, shephards? farmers? labourers? beggers? or not-one-penney-worth mullahs?

        Some thing is better than nothing

          Some educated Afghans returned to their country to destory it further. Just because someone has a degree doesn't mean he is a good person or knows wat to do when it comes to rebuilding a country. So why do you present it in such a black and white way??

              But sorry isn't Karzai one who can speak english, who is so-called educated?? And other ministers, wats this idea of educated afghans returning to their country???

              EDUCATED afghans will return to their country once the masses in Afghanistan want a change for the better in their country. The same is the case in any messed up country.

              A nation is built upon foundations, those foundations are based upon the masses and if a minority group of educated people come they cannot change the majority...this is just a dream, otherwise revolutions would not be required.

                IF you wanna change something, first step towards change is identifying your problems!!!

                WHAT is wrong with Afghanistan that needs changing??? Why is it so poor, why is there always fighting and bloodshed? Why is there ignorance and so on.

                  @Saifullah
                  The mindset of people in afghanistan is not at the level from which you can expect any progress. Illiterate jahil warlords are controlling jahil common people, so bloodsheds and anarchy is natural and expected.

                  The intellegensia have enough discussed the root causes of backwardness in afghanistan, its time to plunge to practicality.

                    Practicality is trying to mobilise the masses, rather than inviting all Afghans who have spent their lives in the west. I see that as a natural phenomenon once Afghanistan shows some basic progress (through its population moving towards something)

                      Karzai was also in the west, even if he is puppet, he has returned and serving his country.

                      Saifullah you are a medical student, you know how valuable are they. From where you expect docters to come in afghanistan? for treatment afghans come to pakistan.

                      Curruntly the country is not in position to produce good docters. obviously afghan docters from west have to help medical colleges through teaching.

                        Yes Afghan Doctors might come, but that is not gonna change the system/future of Afghans...A Doctor needs a hospital, a doctor needs assistance, medicine and so on. It is not just a Doctor goes to a village and says you have hepatitis. Then what? There is lack of institutions and system. That is not what a Doctor can bring...like i said before we can just touch the surface but we have to go deeper.

                        An engineer comes, he says we need to build a bridge. I can do it, i have expertise. But wheres the money gonna come from?? Also what is there to say that build will not be blown up. What is to say the Doctor who cures somebody is not killed by a bullet.

                          There more wealthy Afghan communties Abroad then the whole GDP of Pakistan in ten years, they can support Afghanistan and contribute to its development but sadly they dont bother. Afghanistan and Pakistan are both a lost cause. We need to write up a good strong contigency plan for the survival of our pashtun people.

                          We need to encourge our fellow Pashtuns abroad to contribute to their Motherland. Just as how UK British Born Kashmiris are always sending money for the development of their Kashmir region, we should do something similar but sadly we are too lazy or cant be bothered. We are happy to be gate keeprs of foreigners I .E Darizubans and Punjabis, we speak very tough and strong against our own people but when it comes to others we are so weak and slave like.

                          Kind Regards

                            Got it, thanks. Though, I think Musafira had a wonderful suggestion! We indeed need to improve our image through media and for that we would need loads of Pukhtoons to enter international media in order to 'make up' for all the ill that has been published about us all those years. In order to win over friends, you have to have an friendly image and no matter how hard others try to ruin it, if we ourselves put dedication and effort in showing the beautiful side of our people then our love for our culture will be victorious over the hatred of others for us.

                            Having said that, the biggest step need to be taken is unity. First of all, we need to improve our image within Afghanistan and win back trusts of the minorities, in order to unify with them for which I am sure even they will work for the better of us. We need Pukhtoons who can go to non-Pukhtoon areas and at least convert some of those non-Pukhtoons into a friendlier mood towards Pukhtoons. We should learn from them and teach them about us; About the better side of us. As long as our own countrymen are upset with us, I don't think it's of any use to first work on our image internationally, init?

                              No outside funding of religion-period. Any religion. And those that have recieved those funds should answer the Qaam and give it back, so we can move forward for the betterment of the nation and not outside Gods.

                                The intention is always to advance the doctrine and its standing (goodwill). This is true for religious charities and any other charity, whether set up by a person or a group, religious and otherwise.

                                Our Qaam is suffering at the hands of outside stake holders and their croonies. And religion remains our achilles tendon, hence the most vulnerable aspect of our existense. When your God and prophet are foriegn than you are a foriegn slave. An arab does not give pashtoon equal rights in arabia and UAE, they only accept them as slaves and third class citizens to do their dirty work for them. Similar story with pakistani establishment and its aghan/pashtoon allies.

                                A secular nationalist on the other hand is not a friend of anybody else (outside its state), except on equal terms and thus hated by all the outsiders for he will demand the best case scenario for himself and thus his country. A mullah wishes well for arabia and riawand-punjab first and pashtoon land last.
